Toyota Highlander: Your Glass Breakage Sensor (GBS) provides enhanced protection for your vehicle beyond the Theft Deterrent System (TDS). It detects the sound of tapping or breaking glass and triggers alarms accordingly. Here's how it works:

  • Detection: The GBS uses a microphone to listen for specific noises associated with glass being tapped or broken.
  • Alarm Activation: Upon detecting these sounds, the GBS triggers a Warn-Away Alarm, which includes flashing lights, honking horn, and interior siren. If the noise persists or a door/trunk is forcibly opened, a Regular Alarm is activated.

The G.B.S. (GLASS BREAKAGE SENSOR) provides protection for your vehicle above and beyond the entry
point monitoring performed by the TDS (Theft Deterrent System)—it “listens” for the noise made by tapping on,
or breaking of glass, and triggers alarms upon detection of these types of noise. Using a microphone designed

1. Arm the theft deterrent system.

4. Disarm the theft deterrent system to stop the WARN
AWAY ALARM. Press the unlock button on the
remote control, or use the key to unlock a door, to
disarm the system.
