1. THERMOMETAR LORAWAN USER MANUAL

1.1. BASIC INFORMATION / PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Thermometer LoRaWAN is a device intented to control heating and/or cooling system, or to

control both systems at the same time, as well as displaying humidity percentage on the display.

Communication is done over LoRaWAN network, that is, Thermometer sends data(current

temperature, set temperature and current room humidity) to the server and then the server sends

response back to device based on acquired data. Thermometer LoRaWAN is directly connecting

with heating/cooling system, and based on set and current temperature it regulates heating/cooling

system.

Advantages and main characteristics of this device:

- Thermometer is low energy consumer

- Thermometer on display shows Current and Set temperature and Current room humidity

- Possibility to control temperature over great distances uzing LoRaWAN communication

- Simple device installation

- Simple device handling

Device is powering on by pressing and holding

„Power“ button for 1 second. If the device was OFF, on

display will be shown like on picture (Picture 3. - left).

While the device is turning ON, it will be shown like on

picture (Picture 3. - right).

By pressing and/or holding button „UP“

or „Down“, device is entering menu for setting

Set temperature. Respectively, by pressing

button „UP“ Set temperature increases by 1°C,

or by pressing button „Down“, Set temperature

descreases by 1°C. On picture (Picture 4.) are

shown graphical representations of menu for

setting Set temperature.

If low battery indicator is shown (Picture

5.), batteries must be changed.

If the communication with the server is

in progress, transfer indicator will be shown

(Picture 5.). While transfer is in progress, if

button needs to be pressed then the button

must be pressed and hold for button to take

effect.

2.1. MENUS FOR CONFIGURING THE THERMOMETER

Besides main view, which shows current temperature and current room humidity,

Thermometer has got 4 menus for configuring the device:

1. Menu for setting temperature – Pressing the button Mode or pressing button UP/Down

device enters the menu for setting the temperature. By pressing the button ON/OFF, setting

the temperature will not be done and device will go back to main view. By not pressing any

buttons for 3 seconds, temperature will be set and device will go back to main view,

2. Menu for enable/disable relay regulation (ON or FF) – By pressing button Mode twice,

device is entering menu for enabeling/disabeling regulation. Buttons UP/Down, ON –

regulation is enabled, OF – regulation is disabeled,

3. Menu for changing measuring unit (°C or °F) – By pressing button Mode tree times, device

is entering menu for changing measuring unit. Buttons UP/Down, device's measuring unit can

be set to °C or °F,

4. Menu for changing language (BA, EN, DE, NE and FR) – By pressing the button Mode four

times, device enters the menu for changing language. By pressing buttons UP/Down device's

language can be set between BA (bosnian), EN (english), DE (german), NE (dutch) and FR

(french),

5. Menu for showing current battery percentage – By pressing button Mode five times, device

enters the menu for showing current battery percentage. This menu is only for information

purposes and shows current battery power in percentages (%).

If the button Mode is pressed six times, device goes back to main view.

2.2. MENU FOR SETTING THE TEMPERATURE

For device to enter menu for setting the temperature, button Mode must be pressed one time

or buttons UP/Down.

2.3. MENU FOR CHANGING MEASURING UNIT

For device to enter menu for changing measuring unit, button Mode must be pressed tree

times. To save selected measuring unit, measuring unit must be selected with buttons UP/Down

and wait for 3 seconds. Then the device will go back to main view and temperature will be shown

in selected measuring unit. Also, setting temperature will be done with selected measuring unit. On

picture (Picture 7.) a process for changing measuring unit is shown.

2.4. MENU FOR CHANGING LANGUAGE

For the device to enter menu for changing language, button Mode must be pressed four times.

To save selected language, buttons UP/Down must be pressed and desired language must be

selected and also wait for 3 seconds for the change to take effect. After that, device is going back to

main view.

On picture (Picture 8.), a process of changing language is shown.

2.5. MENU FOR SHOWING CURRENT STATE OF BATTERY

For device to enter menu for showing current state of battery, button Mode must be pressed

five times. This menu shows battery energy in percentages (%) and it's only for information

purposes. On picture(Picture 9.), process for displaying battery percentage is shown.

2.6. RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE

Due to the relevance and validity of measurement and regulation, wireless thermostat should

not be installed near heat sources, such as radiators, furnaces, refrigerators and other objects which

can emit heat in their immediate vicinity.

Also, for the same reason, Home Sensor should not be installed near windows or entrance

doors. It's not recommended to install devices (Home Sensor and Control Box) on unstable surfaces,

or surfaces which are exposed to vibrations, due to a possible fall of device and physical damage.

Keep devices as far as possible from impact of high humidity and liquid sources due to a possible

damage of device's electronic components. Keep the device out of reach of children.

2.8. DEVICE INSTALLATION

Installation of the device must be done by service engineer or a licensed person for installing

Thermometer.

1) Turn off power supply on heating and cooling system

2) Turn off power supply on Thermometer / Take out batteries

3) Connect heating system and/or cooling system and Thermometer using contactless(dry)

contact/connect heating system and/or cooling system on electronically controlled

switch(Relay), as shown on picture(Picture 10.)

(A1 and A2 Relay contats for heating system, B1 and B2 Relay contacts for cooling system)

4) Turn on power supply for Thermometer / Insert batteries in Thermometer.

5) Turn on power supply for heating and cooling system.

Note: Device can be connected with only one system.

(Picture 10.). Marks A1 and A2 are input, or output

from Relay intended for heating system. Marks B1 and

B2 are input, or output from Relay intended for cooling

system.

3. APPLICATION ON THE SERVER

Using application on the server, user can monitor current temperature values and set

temperature values, as well as current room humidity. Except from checking states of humidity and

temperatures, over the application on the server user can set desired room temperature.

Thermometer communicates with Gateway using LoRaWAN network, while Gateway

communicates with application on the server using 3G/Ethernet.

The device, after certain period of time, automatically sends, to the application, current

temperature and set temperature data as well as current room humidity. Every temperature and

humidity change in the room results in device sending that information to the application on the

server.
