Installing a Security System?
Make Sure You’re Getting the Highest-Quality
Monitoring for Optimal Safety and Security
Crime prevention is just one of the many reasons someone would want to install a surveillance system. No one can be everywhere at once, but surveil-
lance allows you to keep a constant eye on your business. They can also help reduce insurance costs. If someone claims they were injured on your site,
your insurance premiums will likely increase if there is no monitoring. Having evidence of incidents is extremely beneficial, especially if someone is trying
to scam you. Most importantly, they help create a safer workplace or environment by monitoring entrances/exits and parking lots. Your employees will feel
safer and you’re more likely to prevent vehicle break-ins and vandalism. Surveillance also helps prevent harassment and other inappropriate behavior
among employees.
To get all these benefits with the highest quality and optimal monitoring the system must be pre-planned, tested, installed, set up and maintained
“properly”. Having a high-quality camera is great but its only half the battle! If you want to make the best of it there are a lot of other things to take into
consideration. From connectors and crimping, to closed circuit and monitoring, Triplett has you covered!
Cabling:
Let’s start with the Triplett TVR10G Pro LAN Network Tester
This is a tool that helps you with the pre-planning stage of the job to avoid
any downtime. It could let you know if you may have to reduce the number
of cameras or even set them to a lower megapixel quality. With a site that has
a lot of IP Security Cameras you need to know that you have enough network
bandwidth otherwise you will experience dropouts and poor-quality video. Our
TVR10G Pro LAN Network Tester (10/100/1000/10000 MB/s) can help.
Test all your LAN devices and cabling up to the 10000 (10GB) Base-T standard.

performance and high cable retention values. This connector will cost more but there will never be a service call because of this connector! Installing is
a breeze and I suggest any installer to check out the kits we offer for your specific job. The Triplett CS-TK00 Universal BNC Compression Tool Kit is a must

What is a CCTV or IP Security Camera Tester?
An analog camera is a traditional camera used in CCTV systems. CCTV systems convert the video signal to a format that can be used by televisions, VCRs,
or DVR’s. IP cameras convert the video signal into IP packets to be transmitted over the data network or internet to a network storage device such as a
server, NAS, or by storing on board the camera.
Security camera testers are portable devices used to test the performance of CCTV and IP cameras. These CCTV camera testers are used to perform
Ethernet and network performance tests, monitor performance tests, resolution checks, etc.
Ok, so what Security Camera Tester do I need?
Selecting the camera that you need will depend on the specific job site and customer requirements. Triplett offers Security Testers for Analog CCTV as well
as testers for both Analog and IP ranging in their individual features from basic to top-of-the-line models.
What do they actually do for me?
Security camera testers allow you to test, focus, aim and program your cameras on-site. With no need to go back and forth between cameras, computers
or recorders, these handy tools are the quickest way to setup your surveillance system. They are used to connect various cameras using RJ45, Wi-Fi or BNC
ports. They power the camera with 12V from the Li-Ion battery or PoE/PoE+, allow for fast camera login and provide camera setup, presets and network
settings. They also provide data cable, network test and troubleshooting tools!
Without a camera tester: If you’re not getting video feed from an IP camera, you’ll need to bench test your camera. That involves taking the camera down
and connecting directly to the NVR or PoE switch with a short pre-made CAT5 cable. If a camera disconnects/does not power, it is most likely a problem
with the cable. If you have a camera tester, it takes the guess work out of it.

Let me tell you some really exciting news
What else could I possibly need?
Triplett is bringing a new tool to the security market! We already offer Borescopes/Video Cameras for Inspection in places that you can’t get into and see.
We also offer Security Camera Testers with nice displays that not only accept video inputs from a camera but have video and snapshot camera capture
built in! Why not marry the two tools together and have the first security camera tester borescope? We did, and it’s available now.
As a Security Installation Specialist or even a homeowner looking to add a security system to you house you will most likely need to run cable and connec-
tions through ceilings and walls. It is likely that you will have a nice security camera tester to make sure the camera is set up properly and to the best of
its capabilities!
Wouldn’t it be nice to have the ability to be able to see these cables, inspect the surrounding environment where these cables will reside forever to make
sure the space is safe and free of any concerning factors? How about if your cable is “hung” up on something? After a powerful storm maybe a connection
comes loose? What if bugs or rodents decide to make a home for themselves in your wall, chew through a connection and the video signal is now lost?
The Triplett SBR2M Security Camera Borescope attaches directly to our camera testers. This means
you won’t need to buy a separate borescope because this one adds that function to your security
camera tester! Works with CamView 8071, 8073, 8074, 8075 (shown left) and 8174.
This borescope has an 8mm, 6 LED camera head. Adjust the camera brightness via the thumbwheel
to light the way behind walls, ceilings and other areas that would otherwise be inaccessible.
Useful for inspections and documentation, the Camera Snapshot and Video Record functions work just
as your camera tester model does!
The 2M (6.5 ft) cable connects easily to the top of your CamView, giving you plenty of length and
flexibility to scope out the area.
