CONDITIONS BEFORE USING THIS PRODUCT. BY
INSTALLING THE PRODUCT YOU THEREBY INDICATE
YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
SHOULD YOU DISAGREE WITH ANY OF THE TERMS OR
CONDITIONS LISTED BELOW, PROMPTLY REMOVE ALL
FILES RELATED TO THIS PRODUCT FROM YOUR HOST
PLATFORM AND RETURN THE PRODUCT TO SATO
CORPORATION.
1. You explicitly agree to accept a non-exclusive license to
use the Soware idened on the distribuon media
solely for your own customary business or personal
purposes. Your local and naonal laws govern this
Agreement.
2. Henceforth, “Soware” shall refer to the digitally
encoded, machine-readable data and program. The term
“Soware Product” includes the Soware idened
on the distribuon media, including any accompanying
documentaon. The term “Distribuon Media” refers to
any method by which the Soware Product is delivered
to the end user, including but not limited to Floppy Disks,
CD-ROM, Magnec Tape and On-Line distribuon via
the Internet. The Soware Product is licensed (not sold)
to you, and SATO® either owns or licenses from other
vendors who own all copyright, trade secret, patent and
other proprietary rights in the Soware Product.
3. To protect the proprietary rights of SATO Corporaon,
you agree to maintain the Soware Product and other
proprietary informaon concerning the Soware
Product in strict condence and to establish reasonable
procedures regulang access to and use of the soware.
4. You agree not to duplicate or copy the Soware except
that you may make one backup copy. You agree that any
such copy shall contain the same proprietary noces as
those appearing on the original.
5. You shall not sub-license, sell, lease, or otherwise
transfer all or any poron of the Soware Product
separate from the printer(s), without the prior wrien
consent of SATO Corporaon.
6. You may not modify or prepare derivave works of the
Soware Product. You may not transmit the Soware
Product over a network, by telephone, or electronically
using any means; or reverse engineer, decompile or
disassemble the Soware.
7. You may transfer the Soware Product with the
printer(s), but only if the recipient agrees to accept the
terms and condions of this Agreement. Your license is
automacally terminated if you transfer the Soware
Product and printer(s).
8. This License remains in force unl terminated, and
may be terminated by agreement between you and
SATO Corporaon, or by SATO Corporaon, if you fail to
comply with the terms of this License if such failure is not
corrected within thirty (30) days aer noce. When this
License is terminated, you shall either return to the place
you obtained them from, or destroy, the printer and all
copies of the Soware and documentaon.
9. SATO Corporaon warrants that for ninety (90) days
aer delivery, the Soware will perform in accordance
with specicaons published by SATO Corporaon, and
that the distribuon media will be free from defects in
material and workmanship. SATO Corporaon does not
warrant that the Soware is free from all bugs, errors
and omissions.
10. Your exclusive remedy and the sole liability of SATO
Corporaon in connecon with the Soware is
replacement of defecve distribuon media upon their
return to SATO Corporaon.
SATO Corporaon will not be liable for any loss or
damage caused by delays in furnishing a Soware
Product or any other performance under this Agreement.
SATO Corporaon does not warrant that the funcons
contained in the Soware will meet your requirements or
that the operaon of the Soware will be uninterrupted
or error free.
11. Use, duplicaon or disclosure by the Government
is subject to restricons as set forth in the relevant
guidelines of your country, such as the Rights in Technical
Data and Computer Soware clause at FAR 242.227-
7013, subdivision (b) (3) (ii) or subparagraph (c) (1) (ii),
as appropriate. Further use, duplicaon or disclosure
is subject to restricons applicable to restricted
rights soware as set forth in FAR 52.227-19 (c) (2) or
equivalent rules.
THE PARTIES AGREE THAT ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS
OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF FITNESS FOR
A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND MERCHANTABILITY ARE
EXCLUDED.
SATO Corporaon reserves the right to make changes and/or
improvements in the Soware without noce at any me.
IN NO EVENT WILL SATO CORPORATION BE LIABLE FOR LOST
PROFITS, LOST DATA, BUSINESS INTERRUPTIONS OR ANY
OTHER DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL
DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE USE OF OR INABILITY TO
USE THIS PRODUCT, EVEN IF SATO CORPORATION HAS BEEN
ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES, OR ANY
DAMAGES CAUSED BY ABUSE OR MANIPULATION OF THE
SOFTWARE. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION
OR LIMITATION OF LIABILITY FOR CONSEQUENTIAL OR
INCIDENTAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATION MAY NOT
APPLY TO YOU.
YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ THIS AGREEMENT,
UNDERSTAND IT, AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY ITS TERMS
AND CONDITIONS. NEITHER PARTY SHALL BE BOUND BY ANY
STATEMENT OR REPRESENTATION NOT CONTAINED IN THIS
AGREEMENT. NO CHANGE IN THIS AGREEMENT IS EFFECTIVE
UNLESS WRITTEN AND SIGNED BY PROPERLY AUTHORIZED
REPRESENTATIVES OF EACH PARTY. BY INSTALLING THIS
SOFTWARE PRODUCT, YOU AGREE TO ACCEPT THE TERMS
AND-CONDITIONS OF THIS AGREEMENT.



AEP Works 3 is a professional applicaon development tool for
creang soware applicaons for SATO barcode printers that
support the AEP plaorm. An applicaon designed with AEP Works 3
forms a complete label prinng soluon that can be transferred to the
printer. It oers an easy-to-use design interface and meets any label
design and prinng requirements needed for creang
ecient label prinng applicaons.
For industries using the new FX3 printer, AEP Works 3 oers the
feature to design business specic touchscreen applicaons. This
allows the operator to create customized applicaons that can add
value to users in various industries.

Start AEP Works 3 by clicking the desktop icon.

In the toolbar located at the top of the screen, in the Select Printer drop-down list, click

Uninstall the Soware
Make sure AEP Works 3 is not running. To start the uninstallaon, click Uninstall.
To uninstall AEP Works 3, use the uninstall program provided by your operang system. Follow the
instrucons below to complete the uninstallaon:

Start Screen
The rst window that appears aer starng AEP Works 3 is the start screen. It´s the
gathering point of all your recent workspaces and printer conguraons. To learn about
creang new workspaces, go to Create New Workspace on page 49. To learn about
printer conguraons, go to Printer Conguraon on page 127.

1. Open an exisng workspace or printer conguraon.
2. Import an exisng workspace from AEP Works Pro.
3. Download a workspace from
the SATO App Storage cloud (only available if you are logged in to SATO App
Storage).
4. Delete les from the SATO App Storage
cloud (only available if you are logged in to SATO App Storage).
5. Select the targeted printer model.
6. If a printer is connected, simulate the workspace on your
computer.
7. Login to the SATO App Storage cloud
applicaon.
8. Change language, units and the appearance of the workspace.
9. Get useful help and informaon from the online PDF user manual.

2. Save your currently acve workspace.
3. Save your currently acve workspace to a new locaon.
4. Access general and advanced workspace sengs.
5. Get an overview of the screen ow of your workspace.
6. Compile a package of your currently acve workspace.
7. Select the targeted printer model.
8. Send your currently acve workspace to a connected
printer.
9. If a printer is connected, simulate the workspace on your
computer.
Workspace Overview
The workspace funcons as a center for adding and viewing content for your label- and
screen designs. The Workspace Overview window shows all of your labels, screens and
assets in the currently acve workspace.

Create new labels and browse through your exisng labels.

Create new screens and browse through your exisng screens.

The assets overview works as a library of les and sengs that you can use
while working on your labels and screens. From here its possible to copy,
delete, export/import and change properes of individual les.

Editors
Labels, screens, scripts, tables and proles all have their own dedicated editors, which
contains tools and opons for designing and eding content.


1. Go back to previous screen.
2. Save - Save your progress in the currently acve editor.
3. Undo the last acon in the acve editor.
4. Redo the last undo acon in the acve editor.
5. Remove the selected object from its current posion.
6. Copy the selected object.
7. Paste the last copied or cut-out object.
8. Open label sengs.
9. Rotate the label le.
10. Rotate the label right.
11. If your media roll already has preprinted graphics, you can use
this seng to simulate the graphics on the label to prevent overlapping of
objects.
12. Overview the screen ow of the currently acve workspace.

13. Compile a package of your currently acve workspace.
14. Select the targeted printer model.
15. Send the currently acve workspace to a connected
printer.

Label Editor Mini Toolbar
The Editor Mini Toolbar contains a set of controls that lets you perform acons
upon the selected object.
1.  - Aaches selected objects with each other.
2.  - Add a grid in the background of your editor window. Objects can
align to the intersecons of lines in the grid. The grid does not print.
3.  - Align selected objects to the top edge of the top-most object.
4. Middle align - Align selected objects to the horizontal middle of the objects.
5.  - Align selected objects to the boom edge of the boom-most
object.
6. - Align selected objects to the le edge of the le-most object.
7. Center align - Align selected objects to the vercal center of the objects.
8.  - Align selected objects to the right edge of the right-most object.

Label Properes Panel
The panel oers opons for changing the properes of an object, rearranging its
execuon order and previewing the output of your dynamic data sources.
