This appliance must be disconnected from the mains when not in use. Do not allow this appliance to
be exposed to rain or moisture.
CAUTION : To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not remove cover (or back). No user-serviceable
parts inside. Refer servicing to qualified service personnel.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1. READ INSTRUCTIONS – All the safety and operating instructions should be read before the appliance is
operated.
2. RETAIN INSTRUCTIONS – The safety and operating instruction should be retained for future reference.
3. HEED WARNINGS – All warnings on the appliance and in the operating instructions should be adhered to.
4. FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS – All operating and use instructions should be followed.
5. WATER AND MOISTURE – The appliance should not be used near water, for example, near a bathtub,
washbowl, kitchen sink, laundry tub, swimming pool or in a wet basement.
6. VENTILATION – The appliance should be situated so that its location or position does not interfere with its
proper ventilation, for example, the appliance should not be situated on a bed, sofa, rug or similar surface that
may block the ventilation openings.
7. HEAT – The appliance should be situated away from heat sources such as radiators, stoves, or other appliances
that produce heat.
8. POWER SOURCES – The appliance should be connected to a power supply 220 – 250V AC 50 Hz. Do NOT
use alternative supplies.
9. POWER CORD PROTECTION – Power supply cords should be routed so that they are not likely to be walked
on or pinched by items placed upon or against them, paying particular attention to cords at plugs, convenience
receptacles, and the point at which they exit from the appliance.
10. CLEANING – Use a soft damp cloth. If the stains are sticky use diluted detergent. Do NOT use petrol based
cleaners or abrasive cleaners.

11. NON-USE PERIODS – The mains adaptor should be unplugged from the outlet when the appliance is to be left
unused for a long period of time.
12. OBJECT and LIQUID ENTRY – Care should be taken so that objects do not fall and liquids are not spilled into
the unit through the openings.
13. SERVICING – The user should not attempt to service the appliance beyond that described in the user’s
operating instructions. All other servicing should be referred to qualified service personnel.
14. ADAPTOR / TRANSFORMER – The appliance is equipped with an adaptor / transformer. This adaptor converts
the input from the AC current to DC current.
15. On no account should the appliance be connected to a socket on the wall without first passing through the
supplied adaptor. If for any reason the adaptor supplied ceases to operate, you should contact a qualified service
engineer
16. DAMAGE REQUIRING SERVICE – The appliance should be serviced by qualified service personnel when:
A. The power-supply cord or plug has been damaged.
B. Objects have fallen into, or liquid has been spilled into the appliance.
C. The appliance has been exposed to rain.
D. The appliance has been dropped, or the enclosure damaged.
E. The appliance does not appear to operate normally or exhibits a marked change in performance.

REMOTE CONTROL FUNCTIONS
Preparation before use
• Install batteries in the remote control unit
1. Remove the battery cover from the back of the remote control unit.
2. Insert two “UM3/AA” size batteries.
• Insert the batteries with the

terminals matching the indication inside the
battery compartment.

2. Battery replacement
• When the remote control operation becomes unstable or the distance from which remote
control is possible becomes shorter, replace the batteries with new ones.
Using the remote control unit
To use the remote unit, point at the REMOTE SENSOR and press the buttons gently and firmly.
Remote control operation is possible within approximate 18ft (6m). However, since the remote
control range is less when the unit is used at an angle, use directly in front of the REMOTE
SENSOR, for maximum distance.
Do not expose the REMOTE SENSOR to strong light (direct sunlight or artificial lighting) and
make sure that there are no obstacles between the REMOTE SENSOR and the remote control
unit.

PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
INSTALLATION
• Unpack all parts and remove protective material.
• Do not connect the unit to the mains before checking the mains voltage and before all other
connections have been made.
• Do not cover any vents and make sure that there is a space of several centimetres around
the unit for ventilation.
CONNECTIONS
• Before connecting the unit to the mains, make sure the voltage printed on the back plate can
be converted by the adapter supplied.

OPERATION / COMPACT DISC
Please bear in mind the following points, since any dirt, scratches or warping of the disc can
cause broken or intermittent sound and also noise.
z When holding the discs, take care not to touch the playing surface.
z Do not place discs in the following locations:
Near a heating device or in direct sunlight;
In damp or dusty areas.
z Wipe away any fingerprints or dust on the playing surface of a disc using a soft cloth. Always
wipe from the inside toward the outside of the disc.
OPERATION
POWER STANDBY ON/OFF
When you first plug the unit into the mains, the unit will go into standby mode. The display will
show the time.
z You can press POWER to switch on the unit.
z The standby function of the unit remains on until the unit is switched on.
z Pull the main plug out of the wall socket if you want to switch off the main voltage
completely.

LOADING THE DISC
z Press the Function button Change to the CD mode.
z Press OPEN/CLOSE button to open the CD door.
z Place a CD (printed side up) on the tray.
z Press the OPEN/CLOSE button to close the CD door.
After a while, the display shows the CD total number of tracks and total and playing time.
PLAYING THE ENTIRE DISC
z Press PLAY/PAUSE button in stop mode.
Play starts with the first track.
The display shows the current track number and its elapsed playing time.
When all the tracks have been played, the CD player stops and the total number of tracks
and total playing time are shown on the display.
z To stop play, press STOP button.
z To interrupt play, press PLAY/PAUSE button in play mode.
z To resume play, press the same button again.
SELECTING A DIFFERENT TRACK DURING PLAY (REMOTE CONTROL ONLY)
1. Press R-SKIP or F-SKIP until the required track number appears in the display.
2. Shortly after this, the chosen track will start playing.
START TRACK AGAIN THAT IS CURRENTLY PLAYING by pressing DN/R-SKIP/TUNING.

Press F-SKIP/ to search for the required passage, if you release the button, play will continue.
The volume will return to its normal level when the search button is released.
PROGRAMMING TRACKS (REMOTE CONTROL ONLY)
Any desired tracks, up to a quantity of19, can be played in any order by program play.
1. Load a CD as described under inserting the disc.
2. If (PROGRAM) key is pressed during the CD stop mode, the system activates the program
mode. During program mode, the track number and PROGRAM display will flash at 500[ms]
intervals.
3. Press (R-SKIP/F-SKIP) key to reach the required track number to program.
4. Press the (PROGRAM) key after choosing a track number, for the system to memorise the
number, repeat steps 2 and 3 until all required tracks are programmed.
5. The system can hold up to 19 programmed tracks, during the program function, no other
function can be utilised.
6. If the [STOP] key is pressed during the program mode, this cancels the mode and erases the
track memory.
7. If the [PLAY] key is pressed during steps 2 and 3, and more than one track has been
programmed, the program play will start. During program play, “PROGRAM” is shown on the
LCD display.
8. If the [R-SKIP / F-SKIP] keys are pressed during the program play, the system skips to
previous/next program.

9. If the [STOP] key is pressed during program play, the system goes into the stop mode, if
[PLAY] is pressed at this point, the system will resume the program play. If the [STOP] key
is pressed during the stop mode, the system will delete the contents of the program play.
HANDLING COMPACT DISC’S
z Handle the disks by its edge.
z Keep the disc clean, do not dirty the disc’s surface.
z Dust and fingerprints can affect the reproduction quality of the CD.
z Clean CD’s by carefully wiping the CD with a soft cloth.
z Store the CD in a protective case.
z To avoid damaging the disc, never use chemicals such as record sprays, anti static
sprays, benzene, or cleaning fluid.
Do not expose disks to direct sunlight, high humidity or high temperatures, for extended
periods. Prolonged exposure to high temperatures can warp the disc.
NOTE:
When listening to FM broadcasts it is advisable to extend fully the system’s wire FM antenna.
When listening to AM broadcasts it is advisable to adjust the position of the helmet for optimum
reception.
