When you use Bluetooth devices close to 2.4 GHz

Wireless LAN devices, Bluetooth transmissions might

slow down or cause errors. If you detect certain

interference while you use Bluetooth devices from

TOSHIBA, always change the frequency, move your

device to the area outside of the interference range of

2.4 GHz Wireless LAN devices (40 meters/43.74 yards

or more) or stop transmitting. Please contact

TOSHIBA computer product support at

support.toshiba.com in the United States for more

information.

Bluetooth and Wireless LAN devices operate within the

same radio frequency range and may interfere with one

another. If you use Bluetooth and Wireless LAN devices

simultaneously, you may occasionally experience a

less than optimal network performance or even lose

your network connection. If you should experience any

such problem, immediately turn off either one of your

Bluetooth or Wireless LAN. Please contact Toshiba

Wireless Technology and Your Health

The products with Bluetooth

®

wireless technology, like

other radio devices, emit radio frequency

electromagnetic energy. The level of energy emitted by

devices with Bluetooth wireless technology however is

much less than the electromagnetic energy emitted by

wireless devices such as mobile phones.

Because products with Bluetooth wireless technology

operate within the guidelines found in radio frequency

safety standards and recommendations, TOSHIBA

believes Bluetooth wireless technology is safe for use by

consumers. These standards and recommendations

This keyboard provides several hot keys enabling you

quick access to the applications on your tablet.

Launches Web browser.

Returns to the previous page.

Advances to the next page.

Launches Email.

Launches Contacts folder.

Launches Calendar.

Plays the previous track on your default media player.

Keyboard is optimized for use with Android™, so not

all hot keys may function in the Windows

®

environment.

Stops playing media on your default media player.

Controls the Play/Pause functions on your default

media player.

Plays the next track on your default media player.

Decreases the volume.

Increases the volume.

Locks your tablet.

Returns to the previous screen.

Returns to the Home screen.

Opens the Options menu in the current application.

Allows you to search your tablet by typing keywords.

Keyboard LED indicators

Two LED indicators are available that indicate the

battery and Bluetooth

®

status.

System Requirements

Setting up the keyboard

Charging the keyboard

Before using the keyboard, it is recommended that you

charge the lithium-ion battery.

To charge the battery:

1 Plug the micro USB connector (small end) of the

included USB cable into the micro USB port on

the back of the keyboard.

Indicator icon Description

The Battery LED indicator blinks red while charging

and turns off when fully charged.

When battery power is low, it flashes red slowly.

The Bluetooth

®

LED indicator is active when:

Powering on: glows blue for approximately five

seconds.

Pairing: blinks blue.

Searching: glows blue until pairing is complete.

2 Plug the other end of the USB cable into a USB

port on your tablet, computer, or docking station.

The battery fully charges in approximately three hours.

If you are not going to use the keyboard over a long

period of time, turn it off to conserve power.

Keyboard may not be able to establish a connection or

function while charging.

Establishing a connection between the keyboard

and your tablet

In order to connect the keyboard to your tablet, it is necessary

to perform a Bluetooth

®

pairing. This operation is required

for the initial connection. After pairing, the system

recognizes the keyboard until it is manually unpaired.

To pair the keyboard to your tablet:

1 Slide the Power switch on the bottom of the keyboard to

the ON position. The Bluetooth

®

LED indicator on the

keyboard glows blue for approximately five seconds.

2 On your tablet, navigate to the Android™ Home

screen and touch Apps > Settings > Wireless &

networks > Bluetooth (select the check box to

enable it).

3 Touch Bluetooth Settings to turn on Bluetooth

®

communication, and then touch Find nearby

devices.

The tablet scans/finds nearby devices.

If the Bluetooth

®

Keyboard is not discovered, repeat

step 3 above and press the Bluetooth

®

Connect button

on the back of the keyboard.

4 Touch the device name Bluetooth Keyboard.

The “Bluetooth pairing request” window appears.

5 Follow the onscreen instructions until you see the

keyboard listed in Paired devices.

The keyboard has successfully paired to your

tablet.

Reconnecting the keyboard

In any of the following conditions, the connection

between your tablet and the keyboard may be lost.

❖ The tablet is powered off

❖ The tablet wakes from Suspend mode

Usually the device will automatically re-connect. However,

if this is not the case, you may need to manually pair the

keyboard to your tablet, see “Establishing a connection

between the keyboard and your tablet” on page 12.

Unpairing the keyboard

When you no longer need the keyboard, you may unpair

it from the tablet.

1 On your tablet, navigate to the Android™ Home

screen and touch Apps > Settings > Wireless &

networks > Bluetooth.

2 Under Paired devices, locate Bluetooth Keyboard,

and then touch the ( ) icon to open the device

Settings menu.

3 Touch Unpair to remove the keyboard.

Troubleshooting
