Before using the hob

 To make the most of your

new appliance, please read

the user instructions

carefully and keep them to

hand for future

consultation.

Installation - Technical information for the Installer

Cooktop

 The cooktop must be set

into a worktop between

30 mm and 50 mm deep.

If there is no oven

beneath the cooktop,

insert a separator panel

at a minimum distance

of 20 mm from the

bottom of the hob.

 If there is an oven

installed under the

cooktop, make sure that

it is manufactured by us

and equipped with a

cooling system.

Note: After installation, make

sure the cooktop power cable

does not come into contact

with the metal burner box

and the oven (if installed)

with tangential fan below it.

 If the cooktop is to be

installed next to a

column unit, leave a

distance of at least

250 mm from the edge

of the hob.

 The outer surfaces of

the furniture or

appliances next to the

cooktop must be heat

resistant (heat

protection Y,

according to local

standards).

 Installation must comply

with current local

regulations.

 In the room where the

cooktop is installed, there

must be enough air to

allow the gas to burn

correctly.

 The natural flow of air

must take place through

an adequate opening, that

must be:

- permanent, made on one

of the outside walls of the

room and communicating

with the exterior in the

area away from sources of

pollution;

- built so as to ensure that its

openings, both on the

inside and on the outside,

cannot be obstructed,

intentionally or

accidentally;

- protected by a metal grid

or mesh that does not

reduce its working section;

- situated near the floor

level and positioned so as

not to interfere with the

operation of the fume

exhaust devices.

Electrical connection

Assembly

 The installation of the

cooktop must be carried

out without grids to

avoid any deformation

of the appliance.

 Position the brackets

into the relevant holes

and tighten by means of

the screws supplied.

 Make an opening in the

worktop, respecting the

dimensions indicated in

the separate Product

Description Sheet.

Also make sure that

there is a ventilation

opening at both sides of

50 mm min. as shown.

 Apply the gasket

supplied along the

outer perimeter of the

worktop, as shown in

the figure.

 Make sure that

ventilation openings

are provided (see

figure).

 Position the brackets in

the holes and tighten

with the screws

supplied.

 Install the cooktop into

the worktop.

Installation must be carried

out in compliance with the

regulations of the local

electricity supply company.

Make sure that the voltage

indicated on the rating plate

corresponds to the voltage in

your home. Regulations

require that the appliance is

earthed: use conductors

(including the earth

conductor) of the appropriate

size only. The manufacturer

declines all responsibility for

injury to persons or animals

and for damage to property

resulting from failure to

observe the above regulations.

The appliance must be

connected to the electricity

supply by means of an all-

pole disconnect switch

with minimum contact gap

of 3 mm.

If necessary, the electrical

power cable must be replaced

exclusively with a power cable

having identical characteristics

to the original supplied by the

manufacturer.

This operation must be

performed by the After Sales

Service or a qualified

electrician.

Warning

: the power supply

cable must be long enough to

allow the cooktop to be

removed from the worktop

and must be positioned so as

to avoid damage or

overheating caused by contact

with the base.

Energy saving tips

 A 3/8" to 1/2" reducing

adapter (ISO 228-I-G 1/2A)

is supplied for those

countries where it is

required.

 The gas connection must

comply with national and

local regulations (see

chapter National Safety

Regulations).

 The connection of the

cooktop to the gas pipe

network or gas cylinder

must be made by means of

a rigid copper or steel pipe

with fittings complying

with local regulations.

 Do not use plastic hoses

underneath the hob.

 Use pots and pans whose

bottom diameter is equal

to that of the cooking zone

or slightly larger.

 Only use flat-bottomed

pots and pans.

 If possible, keep the pot

covered when cooking.

 Cook vegetables, potatoes,

etc. with little water in

order to cut down cooking

time.

 A pressure cooker allows

you to save even more

energy and time.

1. Packing

 The packaging material can

be 100% recycled, as

confirmed by the recycling

symbol ( ).

2. Products

 The appliances are built

from recyclable materials. If

you decide to scrap the

appliances act responsibly

and observe local waste

disposal by laws. Cut off the

power cords so that the

appliances cannot be

connected to the mains.

Declaration of

conformity CE

 These appliances are

designed to come into

contact with foodstuffs and

they are constructed in

compliance with Directive

89/109/EEC.

 The appliances (Class 3) are

designed solely for use as

cooking appliances. Any

other use of the appliances

(e.g. for room heating) is

considered as improper use

and potentially dangerous.

 The appliances are

designed, built and sold in

compliance with:

 Gas safety requirements

90/396/CEE.

 The safety requirements of

Low Voltage Directive

73/23/EEC.

 The protection

requirements of EMC

Directive 89/336/EEC.

 The requirement of

Precautions and general recommendations

 Before any maintenance

on the appliance

disconnect it from the

electrical power supply.

 The appliance is hot during

and after use. Keep

children away from the

appliance when in use and

when it has just been

switched off.

 The appliance must be

repaired or adjusted

exclusively by a qualified

technician.

 Make sure that the

electrical wires of other

electrical appliances near

the cooktop do not come

into contact with hot parts.

 The use of a gas appliance

produces heat and humidity

in the room. Ensure that the

room is well ventilated or

install an extractor hood

with exhaust duct.

 In case of prolonged use,

additional ventilation may

be needed (opening a

window or increasing the

extraction force of the

hood).

 Do not switch on burners

when there is no pan in

position.

 Do not leave the appliance

unattended when frying

food: risk of fire.

 After use, ensure that the

knobs are in position

 (off), and close the main

gas delivery valve.

 If the glass ceramic surface

should break or crack to

due violent impact (falling

objects, etc.) do not use it

and call After Sales Service

immediately.

 Do not drag pans across

the glass-ceramic surface -

risk of scratches.

 Avoid spilling sugar and

similar substances on the

cooktop. If necessary, clean

the cooktop carefully

following the care and

maintenance instructions.

 Warning: The protective

rubber feet on the

panstand grids represent a

choking hazard for young

children. After cleaning

the panstand grids, please

ensure that all the rubber

feet are correctly fitted.

Troubleshooting Guide

1. The burner does not work:

 Is the main gas cylinder valve

open?

 Has the delivery of the gas

been suspended?

 Are the openings of the

burner clogged?

 Have the cap and burner

been positioned correctly

after cleaning?

 Is the burner soil or humid?

2. The burner fails to

remain lit:

 Repeat the ignition

operation, turning the

knob to the position with

the small flame symbol.

3. The electric ignition

device does not work:

 Is there a power failure?

Clean the cooktop, when it is

cool, after each use. This will

prevent the build-up of dirt

and make cleaning easier.

 Use a clean cloth,

absorbent kitchen wipes

and washing up liquid or a

specific cleaner.

 Do not use abrasive products,

bleach, oven-cleaner spray or

pan scourers.

 Do not use water jets for

cleaning.

 Food spills should be

cleaned off before they

bake onto the surface.

 Remove food remains that

have boiled over

immediately particularly

red cabbage, apple sauce

and rhubarb. In these

remains are allowed to

affect the surface over a

period of time, they can

cause discoloration.

Note: The high temperatures

of the flames, may affect, in a

long term use, the colour the

surface around the burners.

Cleaning the burners

1. Raise the cap and remove

it.

2. Soak the cap in hot water

and liquid detergent.

(Do not wash into a

dishwasher).

3. Rinse out and dry carefully.

4. Ensure that none of its

opening is clogged.

5. Reposition the cap.

Note: To avoid damaging the

electric ignition device, do not

use it when the burners are

not in place.

1. Try to solve the problem

(see Troubleshooting

Guide).

2. Turn off the appliance and

restart it to see if the fault is

repeated.

If after the above checks the

fault still occurs, get in

touch with the nearest

After Sales Service.

Please give: a short

description of the fault,

 the exact type and model,

 the service number (number

after the word Service on the

rating plate) is located on the

underside of the cooktop.

The service number is also

indicated on the guarantee

booklet,

 your complete address and

phone number.

If any repairs are required,

please contact an authorised

After Sales Service as

indicated in the warranty.

In the unlikely event that an

operation or repair is carried

out by an unauthorised

technician, always request a

certification of the job carried

out and insist on the use of

original spare parts.

Failure to comply with

these instructions may

compromise the safety and

quality of the product.

National Safety regulations

ITALY

Ventilation of room

When the appliance is not

equipped with safety devices

on the burners (thermocouples),

the air vents must be increased

by 100% and must be at lest

200 cm

, in compliance with the

departmental decree of

April 21, 1993.

Gas supply system

Before connecting the

appliance, make sure that the

gas supply system complies

with standards UNI 7129 and

UNI 7131.

Connection to gas supply

The connection to the gas pipe

network or gas cylinder must

be made with a rigid copper or

steel pipe with fittings

complying with standards

UNI 7129 or with continuous -

surface stainless steel hose

complying with standards

UNI 9891.

The max. length of the hose is

2m.

Provision for ventilation

The room containing this

appliance should have an air

supply in accordance with the

current B.S. 5440: Part 2.

All rooms require a

permanent vent in addition to

the openable window. If there

are other fuel burning

appliances in the same room,

B.S. 5440: Part 2 should be

consulted to determine the

requisite air vent

requirements.

If the appliance is installed in a

cellar or basement, it is

advisable to provide an air

vent of effective area 65 cm

irrespective of the room

volume.

BELGIUM

The appliance is supplied with

a 1/2 cone threaded end to be

connected to the gas supply

(according to ISO regulations

7/1 RP 1/2). The connection

must be effected in accordance

with Standard NBN D 51-003

with rigid piping or in

accordance with specifications

sheet A.R.G.B./03 with flexible

tubing. The appliance must be

installed with an AGB-

approved stop valve.

Gas Safety Regulations

It is law that all gas appliances

are installed by competent

persons in accordance with the

current gas safety regulations.

Failure to install appliances

correctly could lead to

prosecution.

It is in your own interest, and

that of safety, to ensure that

the law is complied with.

The hob should be installed in

accordance with the Gas Safety

(Installation and Use)

Regulations, the Building

Regulations issued by the

Department of the

Environment and the Building

Standards (Scotland)

(Consolidation) Regulations

issued by the Scottish

Development Department.

In the U.K. CORGI registered

installers work to safe

standards of practice.
