Congratulaons!
You’ve taken the rst step toward the TV Ears television experience. The TV Ears TV is a
32” Hi-Denion LCD television with a built in transmier to wirelessly send audio to the
included TV Ears headset. TV Ears TV comes with a color-coded big buon TV Ears Remote
that can program up to 30 of your favorite channels and will work with cable or satellite
set top boxes. TV Ears TV even shuts o when you fall asleep! Instead of programming
a built in shut o mer the TV Ears TV shuts o aer four hours of inacvity; perfect for
when you have le the house or fallen asleep. TV Ears proprietary Voice Clarifying Circuitry
makes dicult to hear words and dialogue “jump out” making television dialogue easier to
understand.

5. Do not use this apparatus near water - Apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing
and no objects lled with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the apparatus. Do not use
immediately aer moving from a low temperature to high temperature environment, as this
causes condensaon, which may result in re, electric shock, or other hazards.
6. Venlaon - Do not block any venlaon openings on the back of the TV. Install in accordance
with the manufacturers instrucons.
7. Heat sources - Do not install near heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other
apparatus (including ampliers) that produce heat. Do not install your TV close to smoke.
8. Grounding or Polarizaon - Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type
plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding type plug has
two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong are provided for your
safety. If the provided plug does not t into your outlet, purchase the correct adapter or consult
an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.
9. Power Cord Protecon - Protect the power cord from being walked on or pitched parcularly at
plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.
NOTE: Where the main plug or appliance coupler is used as the disconnect device, the disconnect
device shall remain readily operable.
10. Aachments - Only use aachments / accessories specied by the manufacturer. Do not use
aachments not recommended by the manufacturer. Use of improper aachments can result in
accidents.
11. Stand - Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specied by the manufacturer
or sold with the apparatus. When mounng the product on a wall, be sure to follow the
manufacturers instrucons. Use only the mounng hardware recommended by the
manufacturer.
12. Move Carefully - When a cart is used, use with cauon when moving the cart/apparatus
combinaon to avoid injury from p-over. Never aempt to move the TV unless the power cord
has been disconnected.

13. Lightning - Unplug the apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for a long period of
me. This will prevent damage to the equipment due to lightning and power-line surges.
14. Servicing - Refer all servicing to qualied service personnel. Servicing is required when the
apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as the power-supply cord or plug is damaged,
liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed
to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.
NOTE: Taking this apparatus to a non-authorized service professional will void your warranty.
15. Replacement Parts - When replacement parts are required, be sure the service technician has
used replacement parts specied by the manufacturer or have the same characteriscs as the
original part. Unauthorized substuons may result in re, electric shock, or other hazards. Any
parts used not authorized by the manufacturer will void your warranty.
16. Overloading - Do not overload wall outlets, extension cords, or convenience receptacles on other
equipment as this can result in a risk of re or electric shock.
17. Entering of Objects and Liquids - Never insert an object into the product through vents or
openings. High voltage ows in the product and inserng an object can cause electric shock and/
or short internal parts. For the same reason, do not spill water or liquid on the product.
18. Damage Requiring Service - If any of the following condions occurs, unplug the power
cord from the power outlet, and refer to a qualied service professional under the following
condions:

perform safety checks to ensure that the product is in proper operang condion.

Adjust only those controls that are covered by the operang instrucons as an

need for service.

Safety Instrucons
20. Wall or Ceiling Mounng – When mounng the product on a wall or ceiling, be sure to install the
product according to the method recommended by the manufacturer. Only use wall or ceiling
mounngs approved for holding specied TV size.
21. Power Source – This product is intended to be supplied by a listed power supply indicated on
the marking label. If you are not sure of the type of power supply to your home, consult the
product dealer or local power company. When the unit has to be used with another power
supply voltage, the power cable must be changed. The socket outlet should be installed near the
equipment and easily accessible. Use only the power cord designated by our dealer to ensure
safety and EMC.
When connecng other products such as VCRs and personal computers, you should turn o the
power of the unit for protecon against electronic shock.
22. Panel Protecon – The LCD panel used in this product is made of glass. Therefore, it can break
when the product is dropped or impacted upon by other objects. Be careful not to be injured by
broken glass pieces in case the LCD panel breaks.
Headset Warnings: Do not remove baeries from the headset. Headset baeries are not customer
replaceable.
Headset Warning: TV Ears speakers, located in the ear p ends of the headset, emit a minimal
magnec eld. When used as indicated, TV Ears headsets should not cause magnec interference
with pacemakers or internal debrillators. The magnec eld strength of the speakers is less than 1
Gauss when within 1 inch (3 cm) of the pacemaker or internal debrillator. It is recommended that
the user keep the ear ps at least an inch away from any pacemaker or internal debrillator.
We have not had any customers indicate a problem using TV Ears in the presence of a pacemaker
or internal debrillator. We recommend not placing the ear p ends of the headsets (where the
speakers are) on your chest or directly in the vicinity of a pacemaker or debrillator. If you have
concerns, we recommend you contact your physician.

External Television Antenna Grounding
If an outside antenna, satellite dish or cable system is to be connected to the TV, make sure that the
antenna or cable system is electrically grounded to provide some protecon against voltage surges
and stac charges.
Arcle 810 of the Naonal Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPSA 70, provides informaon with regard to the
proper grounding of the mast and supporng structure, grounding of the lead-in wire to an antenna
discharge unit, size of the grounding conductors, locaon of antenna discharge unit, connecon to
grounding electrodes, and requirements of the grounding electrodes.
Lightning Protecon
For added protecon of the TV during a lightning storm of when it is le unaended or unused for
long periods of me, unplug the TV from the wall outlet and disconnect the antenna or Cable system.
Power Lines
Do not locate the antenna near overhead lights or power circuits or where it could fall into such
power lines or circuits.
Advisory of the Digital TV (DTV) Transion
The naonwide switch to digital television broadcasng was completed on June 12, 2009. Your
TV Ears HDTV is capable of receiving Digital Broadcasts and no Digital Converter Box is required.

Power TV Light - The light under the TV Ears name lights GREEN when powered on and RED
when powered o.
Remote Control Sensor - This sensor is used to receive commands from the remote controls.

POWER – Switch the HDTV on by pressing the buon once. Press the buon again to turn the
HDTV o.
MENU – Will bring the main menu on the screen.
CH +/- – Use these buons to step up or down the TV channels. When the On Screen Display
(OSD ) is acve, these buons funcon as up and down controls in the OSD menus.
VOL +/- – Use these buons to increase or decrease the speakers’ volume. When the OSD is
acve, these buons funcon as le and right controls in the OSD menus.
INPUT – Switch between sources.

1. Remove the baery cover.
2. Insert AAA size baeries into the baery compartment of the remote. When inserng
the baeries, make sure that you match the (+) and (-) symbols on the baeries with the
(+) and (-) symbols inside the baery compartment.
3. Put the baery cover back on.
To prevent baery leakage which may result in bodily injury or damage to the remote:
Install all baeries correctly and as marked on the remote control.
Do not mix baeries (OLD and NEW or CARBON and ALKALINE, etc.).
Remove baeries when the remote is not going to be used for a long me.
Properly dispose of baeries in accordance with local laws and regulaons.

Headset Overview
| Baery and Pairing Light
The TV Ears headset has an LED light on the front that will illuminate when it is charging.
The light will go o aer the baery is fully charged and turn on again when the baery is
running low.
When the light rst goes on (indicang baery is low), the headset will have
approximately 30 minutes le of power.
Under normal condions, a fully charged baery should last about ve and a half hours or
more.
It should take no more than four hours to recharge a fully drained baery.
The headset will operate while it is plugged into an outlet.
| Using the TV EARS Headset
Turning on the headset | Turn the headset on. Aer it is turned on, the TV screen will say
TV Ears Connected”.
Turning o the headset | Turn the headset o. Aer it is turned o, the TV screen will say
TV Ears Disconnected”.
Walked too far away from TV | The headset will lose sound and the TV will say “ TV Ears
Disconnected”. (Depending on environment, the distance may vary.)
Walked back in range of TV signal | The headset will regain sound and the TV will say
TV Ears Connected”.

Pairing Headset
If the headset is not paired, aempt to pair headset using instrucons below. The
headset should come paired out of the box & should pair when charged.
Step 1 | With the remote labeled “TV•EARS TV” press MENU.
Step 2 | Scroll down unl SETTINGS is highlighted and press ENTER.
Step 3 | Scroll down unl TV Ears is highlighted and press ENTER.
Step 4 | Scroll down unl PASSWORD is highlighted and press ENTER.
Step 5 | Enter password (3277) and press ENTER.
Step 6 | Scroll down unl PAIR is highlighted and press ENTER.
Step 7 | Turn on the headset.
Step 8 | A pop up will appear on your screen that says “TV Ears pairing…press
menu to exit.
Step 9 | Once pairing is complete your TV will say “TV Ears Pair Success…”.

Wall Mounng
| Wall Mounng your TV Ears TV
Your TV Ears TV can be mounted on the wall. If you choose to mount your TV•EARS TV on
the wall, follow the instrucons below.
1. If the base has been aached, remove the base:
Turn o TV and disconnect all cables from your TV•EARS TV.
Place your TV•EARS TV face down on a so, at surface to prevent damaging
the screen.
Remove the six (6) screws holding the stand neck to your TV•EARS TV.
2. Mount your TV•EARS TV to the wall.
Read the instrucons that came with the specic mount to properly hang your
TV•EARS TV.
Aach your TV•EARS TV to a wall mount (sold separately) using the mounng
holes in the back panel of your TV•EARS TV, in accordance with the TV mount
instrucons.
| Replace Stand on TV
1. Remove TV Ears TV from wall.
2. Place the TV Ears TV face down on a so, at surface to prevent damage to the screen.
3. Insert stand in TV.
4. Screw in the six (6) screws where designated to do so.

1. Plug the power cord into the port labeled AC IN on the back of the TV.
2. Plug the opposite end of the power cord into a standard electrical outlet or surge
protector.

1. Install antenna according to manufacturers instrucons.
2. Connect the antenna to the 75-ohm antenna plug labled RF IN on the back of the
TV.

1. Connect the video cable (yellow plug) to the video port of the device.
2. Connect the audio cables (white & red) to the le and right audio jacks of the
device.
3. Connect the video cable of the port labeled Video on the back of the TV.
4. Connect the audio cables to the ports labeled L & R on the back of the TV.
5. In the source list, select Composite.

3. Connect the opposite end of the S-video plug to the port labeled S-Video on the
back of the TV.

5. In the source list, select S-Video.

| Component Connecon
1. Connect the component cables (green, blue, & red) to the video ports (Y, Pb & Pr)
on the device.
2. Connect the audio cables (white & red) to the le and right audio jacks of the
device.
3. Connect the component cable to the ports labeled Y, Pb, & Pr (1 or 2) on the back
of the TV.
4. Connect the audio cables to the ports TV labeled L & R on the back of the TV.
5. In the source list, select Component (1 or 2).
