Congratulations on your purchase. You have selected a qual-

ity product. The instructions for use are a part of the product.

They contain important information about the safety, use and

disposal of the appliance. Before using the product, please

learn about all the safety information and usage instructions.

Only use the product as described and for the speciﬁed appli-

cations. If you lend the product to someone else, please also

give all the instructions.

Intended use

This product is suitable for weighing and tare weighing typical

domestic amounts of food. The product is used to determine

the weight and / or volume of non-aggressive, non-corrosive

and non-abrasive liquids or solids. The product is for private

use only and is not intended for medical or commercial use.

Note: This product has been tested

stallation. This product generates, uses

and can radiate radio frequency energy

and, if not installed and used in accor-

dance with the instructions, may cause

However, there is no guarantee that inter-

This product has delicate electronic

components. This means that if it is

placed near an object that transmits

radio signals, it could cause interfer-

ence. This could be, for example, mo-

bile telephones, walkie talkies, CB

radios, remote controls and microwaves.

If the display indicates a problem, move

such objects away from it.

Electromagnetic interference / high-

frequency emissions can lead to the

product failing. In cases of the product

failing to work remove the battery for a

short while and then replace it. Do this

as described in section “Inserting /

Replacing the Batteries“.

batteries

Failure to comply

with these precautions can cause

the cell (battery) to overheat,

leak, or explode.

Store batteries in a dry place at room

temperature. Batteries are sensitive to

high and low temperatures. Such ther-

mal exposure may lead to leakage, ﬁre,

or explosion.

Keep contacts clean, both on the

battery and in the product.

Remove batteries from the product that

will not be used for long periods of time

(months or longer).

Choose the proper battery for the

intended application.

Remove discharged batteries from

equipment promptly to avoid possible

damage from leakage.

Never charge a battery unless the bat-

tery label speciﬁcally states the battery

is rechargeable. Charging a non-re-

chargeable battery may result in leak-

age, ﬁre, or explosion.

Exercise care in handling batteries in or-

der to prevent shorting with conducting

materials, such as rings, coins, brace-

lets, and keys. The battery or the con-

ductor can overheat and cause burns.

Never heat batteries in order to revive

them.

Do not dispose of the battery in a ﬁre.

Do not open or mutilate a battery or

cell. Electrolyte from the cell is corrosive

and can cause damage to the eyes or

skin. The cell contents can also be haz-

ardous if ingested.

Dispose of batteries properly and in ac-

cordance with government regulations.

Always take care to correctly insert

batteries observing (+) and (-) polarity

marks on the battery and the product

for which it is intended. The correct po-

larity must be ensured to avoid damage

to either product, charger or batteries.

Keep cells and batteries out of reach of

children, especially small batteries. In-

gestion may lead to choking or acute

and serious personal injury.

Immediately seek medical attention if a

cell or battery has been swallowed.

Also contact your local poison control

center.

In the event that the electrolyte comes

into contact with the skin or eyes, imme-

diately ﬂush with fresh water for at least

15 minutes and seek medical attention.

Always replace the whole set of batter-

ies at one time, taking care not to mix

old and new ones, or batteries of diﬀer-

ent types, capacities, or manufacturers.

Never short-circuit batteries, as this may

lead to high temperatures, leakage, ﬁre,

or explosion.

Batteries should not be disassembled,

crushed, punctured, or otherwise muti-

lated. Such abuses may result in leak-

age, ﬁre, or explosion.

Before use

Note: Remove all packaging materials from the product.

Inserting / replacing the batteries

1. Turn the product over and place it on a soft underlay to

avoid scratching the surface.

2. Remove the battery cover 8.

3. Pull out the battery separation strips.

4. If necessary, reinstall the batteries and close the battery

compartment 9. The product is now ready for use.

Note: Make sure you insert the batteries with the correct

polarity. This is indicated inside the battery compartment 9.

The product is now in clock mode and ready for use.

Clock mode / setting

As soon as the batteries have been inserted, the hour ﬁeld

on the LC Display 5 begins to blink. To set the hour, press

the ▲ZERO / TARE button 7 or the ▼UNIT button 6.

Press the T-SET button 4 to switch to the minute ﬁeld.

Press the ▲ZERO / TARE button 7 or ▼UNIT button 6

to set the minutes.

Press the T-SET button 4. The clock is now set.

Note: If you need to reset the time, press and hold the

T-SET button 4 until the time display blinks. Repeat the

steps above.

Setting up the product

Place the product on a solid, ﬂat, non-slip surface.

This product has non-slip rubber feet. Furniture surfaces

may be made of a variety of materials and are treated

with many diﬀerent types of cleaning agents. Therefore, it

is not possible to entirely exclude the possibility that some

of these materials contain substances that could corrode

and soften the product’s rubber feet. If possible, place a

non-slip mat under the feet of the product.

Operation

Setting the units and the

weighing mode

You can choose between imperial / avoirdupois and metric

units of weight. For the range 0 oz–15.9 oz, the unit of mea-

surement is shown in oz. From 0 g–999 g, the unit of measure-

ment is in g. For the range from 16 oz the unit of measurement

is shown in lb:oz. From 1000 g onwards, the unit of

measurement is in kg. You can also weigh liquids, in which

case brieﬂy press the ▼UNIT button 6 until the desired unit

of measurement is shown the LC display 5.

In the imperial / avoirdupois system:

– Fluid ounces (ﬂ oz) water: “WATER” is shown in the

LC display.

– Fluid ounces (ﬂ oz) milk: “MILK” is shown in the

LC display.

In the metric system:

– Milliliter (ml) water: “WATER” is shown in the

LC display.

– Milliliter (ml) milk: “MILK” is shown in the

LC display.

Press the ON / OFF button 3. The product is now in

weighing mode. The measuring unit is shown below or to

the left of the weight indication in the LC display 5.

Press and hold the ▼UNIT button 6 for about 2 seconds

to change the unit of weight (lb:oz / g).

The weight of “0.0” is shown in the LC display 5. Place

a suitable bowl or container on the weighing platform 2

and press the ▲ZERO / TARE button 7. Again, the

weight “0.0” is shown in the LC display 5. The weight of

the bowl / container is no longer included.

Place the item to be weighed in the bowl / container. The

weight of the item is shown in the LC display 5.

Note: If no button is pressed for 2 minutes and the

weight is not changed, the readout in the LC display 5

always changes back to clock mode.

Tare (TARE function)

You can set the weight to “0.0” again to be able to weigh

another item.

Note: A small circle symbol appears in the left of the LC dis-

play 5 as soon as the product is switched on. A weight of

“0.0” is shown and the product is ready to weigh. The circle

symbol disappears as soon as the TARE function is used.

To do this, press the ▲ZERO / TARE button 7 once. The

message “TARE” appears in the LC display 5. Again, a

weight of “0.0” is shown in the LC display 5.

Place the next item to be weighed in the bowl / container.

The weight of the newly added item is shown in the

LC display 5.

Note: You can repeat this process many times. Never

place more than 11 lb / 5 kg onto the product.

Remove the bowl / container and the weighed item from

the weighing platform 2. Press the ▲ZERO / TARE but-

ton 7. Again, the a weight of “0.0” is shown in the

LC display 5.

Removing weighed items

Press the ▲ZERO / TARE button 7. The message “TARE”

appears in the LC display 5. Again, a weight of “0.0” is

shown in the LC display 5.

Remove the desired amount of the weighed item.

The weight of the item is shown with the minus sign in the

LC display 5 as a negative value.

Note: You can repeat this process many times.

Remove the bowl / container and the weighed product

from the weighing platform 2. Press the ▲ZERO / TARE

button 7. Again, a weight of “0.0” is shown in the

LC display 5.

Setting the timer

The timer can be used in clock as well as weighing mode. It

allows you to set the timer for a speciﬁc time period. The timer

will count down and a signal will sound at the end.

Press the T-SET button 4 once in clock mode or twice in

weighing mode. A bell symbol appears in the LC display

5 and the time period to be deﬁned blinks.

Note: You can set the time period precisely to the sec-

ond. Press and hold the ▲ZERO / TARE button 7 or

▼UNIT button 6 to scan through the time readout in the

LC display 5 faster.

Press the ▲ZERO / TARE button 7 or ▼UNIT button 6

to set the time in 10 minute intervals.

Press the T-SET button 4 once to accept the setting. Press

the ▲ZERO / TARE button 7 or ▼UNIT button 6 to set

the time in 1 minute intervals.

Press the T-SET button 4 once. Press the ▲ZERO / TARE

button 7 or ▼UNIT button 6 to set the time in 10 sec-

ond intervals.

Press the T-SET button 4 once. Press the ▲ZERO / TARE

button 7 or ▼UNIT button 6 in set time in 1 second

intervals.

Press the T-SET button 4 to start the countdown.

Note: You can reset the timer. To do this press the T-SET

button 4.

A signal sounds at the end of the set time period. Press

any button to dismiss the alarm.

Switching oﬀ the weighing function

Note: If the product has not been used for about 2 minutes it

automatically switches to clock mode.
