The default status for JP2 is Open, which supports the
Prescott and Northwood CPU. If JP2 set as Close, then
it supports the Willamette CPU.
3. CPU Selection Jumper: JP2
The motherboard BIOS is inside the FWH. If the jumper
BIOS_WP set as Close, the system BIOS is protected
from being attacked by a serious virus, such as the
CIH virus. You will be unable to flash the BIOS to the
motherboard when the system BIOS is protected.
2. BIOS-Protection Jumper: BIOS_WP
This motherboard uses the CMOS RAM to store all
the parameters. The CMOS can be cleared by reset-
ting the CMOS jumper. You can refer to the following
process.
1. Turn off the AC power supply and connect pin 1 and
2 together using the jumper cap.
2. Return the jumper setting to normal (pin 2 and 3
together with the jumper cap).
3. Turn the AC power supply back on.

The motherboard uses JP3, JP4, JP5
jumper to select USB power. JP3 is for
USB, JP4 is for NIC_USB, JP5 is for Front
USB (FP_USB1). Pin 1 and 2 together
(default) select +5V_SYS power, which
doesn’t supports USB device wake up
function. Pin 2 and 3 together select
+5V_SB, which supports USB device wake
up function.

The audio interface provides two kinds of audio
output choices: the Front Audio, the Rear Audio.
Their priority is sequential from high to low(Front
Audio to Rear Audio). If headphones are plugged
into the front panel of the chassis(using the
Front Audio), then the Line-out (the Rear Audio)
on the rear panel will not work. If you do not
want to use the Front Audio, pin 5 and pin 6, pin
9 and pin 10 must be SHORT, and then the
signal will be sent to the rear audio port.
9. Front Audio Connector: F_AUDIO1
The connector supports wireless transmitting and
receiving device. Before using this function, config-
ure the settings of IR Mode from the “Integrated

12. 6-channel Audio Effects
The motherboard is equipped with the Realtek ALC655 chip, which provides sup-
port for 6-channel audio output, including 2 front, 2 rear, 1 center and 1 subwoofer
channel. ALC655 allows the board to attach 2, 4 or 6 speakers for a better sur-
round sound effect. To apply this function, you have to install the audio driver in
utility CD as well as an audio application supporting 6-channel. Picture below
represents the standard location of all speakers in 6-channel sound track. Con-
nect the front speaker to the green audio output; connect the surround sound
speaker to the blue audio input; connect the center speaker/subwoofer to the red
