Useful Information.
The lightning flash with arrowhead symbol, within an
equilateral triangle, is intended to alert the user to the
presence of un-insulated “dangerous
voltage” within the products enclosure that may be of
sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric
shock to the persons.
The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle is
intend to alert the user to the presence of important
operating and maintenance (servicing) instructions in
the literature accompanying the appliance.
Correct disposal of this Product

The crossed out “Wheelie bin” is intended to show
that this appliance must not be placed with ordinary
household waste at the end of its useful life. To
prevent possible harm to the environment or human
health from uncontrolled waste disposal, please keep
separate from other household waste and recycle it
responsibly to promote the sustainable reuse of
material resources.
Household users should contact either the retailer
where you purchased the product, or their local
government office for details of where and how you
can take this item for environmentally safe re-cycling.
Business users should contact their supplier and
check the terms and conditions of the purchase
contract. This product must not be mixed with other
commercial wastes for disposal.
Battery Disposal. Batteries contain many chemicals
dangerous to humans and pets. When exhausted do
not break open, throw on a fire or place in domestic
waste. Contact your local waste authority for disposal
directions
Radio Operation.
Mains Operation.
Plug the mains lead into the radio and the mains socket.
Battery Operation. Remove the battery cover and place the
batteries (3 x UM1) into the compartment, replace the cover.
On/Off
Turn the radio on using the “Volume” control, set to approx “3”.
The power “On” led will light (2)
If not using the radio for some time, it is wise to turn off at the
supply rather than the On/Off switch on the radio.
FM. Select FM using the “Band Switch (5)” and extend the Rod
aerial. Use the “Tuning control (3) for your favourite station. In
poor signal areas you may need to change the direction of the
aerial for best results.
AM. MW and LW. Select MW or LW using the Band Switch. Use
the Tuning Control for your favourite station. In poor signal areas
you may need to adjust the angle of the radio its self for a better
signal. Note the antenna is internal. The rod aerial has no effect on
AM
Headphones. Connect a suitable pair of headphones for personal
enjoyment. Do not plug in headphones with the level above (2) as
this may damage the headphones. Do not use headphones at
excessive levels as this could permanently damage your hearing.
If you experience “ringing” in the ears after prolonged headphone
use, consult your physician.

Safety.
Please read this document carefully and keep in a safe place for
future reference.
Power Supply.
This apparatus is designed to operate from a 220 – 250V
AC 50 Hz supply. Do NOT connect to alternative supply
Mains Wire and Plug
Do not place the mains lead where it can be stepped on, or tripped
over. Do not place heavy objects on the mains lead, cut or damage
the outer cover.
Do not operate the radio if it becomes wet or water enters the
ventilation slots.
Do not disconnect the mains plug with wet hands, this could cause
a severe electric shock. Always turn off the supply first at the
socket.
Do not cover the ventilation slots or cause the radio to overheat by
putting near a radiator or in direct sunlight.
Cleaning.
When cleaning is required. Unplug the appliance from the mains
supply. Use a soft dry cloth. For stubborn sticky stains use a damp
cloth with a mild detergent. Do not use chemical cleaners
Damage Requiring Service.
Should any of the following happen, disconnect from the mains
supply and call an engineer or Technical Help Centre. :-
Damage of the mains cord or plug.
Liquid or other objects enter the casing.
The apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture.
If the appliance does not operate in accordance with the normal
operation expected.
If the appliance has been dropped or the case damaged.
Batteries.
If using the radio with batteries, it is recommended that they are
not kept in the radio if not used for long periods. The batteries will
leak and cause damage. This is not covered by warranty.
If the radio sound becomes distorted, it may be the batteries are
exhausted. Replace all the batteries
