Use
The unit is intended for storing welding powder in the temperature range 100-300
o
C. The unit is to
be used only in accordance with these instructions. Is must not be used for any other purpose
because of possible injuries or material damage.
Before use
Check the unit for transport damages; do not connect a faulty unit to the mains. Check that the
voltage and frequency marked on the rating plate match the values of the mains to which the unit is
to be connected. Place the silo firmly and evenly on the support provided. The lid, attached to the
support for the duration of the transport, in place on top of the silo. Place the silo with its emptying
chute downwards in such a position that the control box is against the indentation. Screw the
earthing cable in the control box to the support using the screw attached to the support.
Location
To avoid overheating, the clearance to any material must be no less than 0,5 m on any side and no
less than 1 m above the unit. Make sure that there are no obstacles and no flammable material closer
to the unit. The unit must never be covered. Place the unit in a dry place on a flat surface. The
enclosure class of the silo is IP 20, it must not be subject to dripping or splashing water. The unit
may not be used in environments where there is danger of explosion (EX).
Using the unit
Connect the unit to the mains. Set the thermostat at the desired temperature. The red pilot light is lit
whenever the unit is connected to the mains. Pour the welding powder to be stored into the silo from
above. The upper level of the powder must not be above the upper end of the air circulation tubes
inside the silo. Select the temperature recommended by the manufacturer of the powder. The lid
must be slightly ajar when the silo is on. This is achieved by setting the support lever of the lid
against the rim of the silo.
Other matters to be considered
When pouring fine powder into and out of the silo, the powder may cause dust. A dust respirator
filter should be worn when handling the powder. Extreme care should be exercised when
pouring powder from the dryer, as it may be very hot, depending on the temperature chosen,
and may cause burns if handled carelessly.
Remove the plug from the wall socket whenever the silo is not in use.
