The Model T31643 2-Ton Bear-Lift Pro Pallet
Stacker is the perfect tool for stacking pallets when
the operator does not want the fuss of recharging
or gassing up. Hydraulic manual lift design offers
either hand or foot operation and locks to keep it
in place. The T31643 comes fully assembled with
adjustable forks; hard-chromed, polished pistons;
and double-sealed, polyurethane oil seals.
To reduce your risk of
serious injury, read this
entire manual BEFORE
using machine.
INJURY HAZARD!
Do not exceed maximum load capacity.
Do not reach under or over moving parts
to avoid pinch and crush points.
Keep clear of forks when lowering load.
Pull release lever slowly when lowering
forks.
Only use on a flat, even surface.
Do not transport loads with forks raised
more than 5".
Always store stacker with forks low-
ered and without load. Do not leave
unattended while in use.
FALL HAZARD!
Do not operate pallet
stacker with passenger on
forks. A fall from raised
forks could result in injury
or even death.

Operation
Using the lift control lever shown in Figure 3, the
pallet stacker forks can be raised, lowered, or
placed in the neutral position for moving.
Figure 3. Handle lever positions.
Lift Position: When lever is in lift position, either
hand or foot lift handle can be pumped to lift forks.
Lower Position: Drops forks. Pull lever up
SLOW LY to begin lowering forks. Avoid pulling
lever up quickly or load will drop suddenly.
Neutral Position: Place handle in this position
to move load. In neutral position, pump and lift
mechanism are disengaged so that handle can
move up and down freely while operator moves
stacker.
Neutral

Lift
1. Move pallet stacker to desired location using
stacker handles, then engage back wheel
brakes (see Figure 4).

3. Lower forks, disengage brakes, and insert
forks under pallet where weight will be cen-
tered and equally distributed (see Figure 6).

4.
Lift forks just enough to clear front casters
(see Figure 7).
5.
Transport and lift pallet as needed.
2. Adjust forks to desired width (see Figure 5).

Forks
Lubrication
The front and rear wheels are attached with per-
manently sealed ball bearings, so they require
no lubrication, but we recommend adding a few
drops of SAE 10W-30 oil every three months to
each rotating point shown in Figure 8.
Figure 8. Lubrication locations.
If fork width becomes difficult to adjust, you can
wax fork rail for ease of movement.

Symptom Possible Cause Possible Solution
Forks will not lift
to max height.
1. Hydraulic oil low. 1. Fill pump assembly with hydraulic oil.
Forks do not lift. 1. Hydraulic oil low/contaminated.
2. Too much hydraulic oil in pump assembly/air
in hydraulic system.
3. Pump valve nut too tight.
1. Fill pump assembly with hydraulic oil. If necessary,
drain old/contaminated oil and replace.
2. Pump off extra hydraulic oil/air.
3. Loosen pump valve nut.
Forks do not
lower.
1. Lifting components jammed with debris.
2. Pump valve nut too loose.
3. Lifting components bent/damaged.
1. Inspect mechanism, clear debris.
2. Tighten pump valve nut.
3. Inspect/replace damaged lifting components.
Forks lower by
themselves.
1. Impurities in relief valve/hydraulic oil.
2. Relief valve faulty/damaged.
3. Seals worn/damaged.
1. Clean relief valve/change hydraulic oil.
2. Inspect/replace.
3. Inspect/replace.
Forks lower too
slowly.
1. Pump valve nut misadjusted. 1. Tighten pump valve nut.
Forks lower too
quickly.
1. Pump valve nut misadjusted. 1. Loosen pump valve nut.
Oil leaks. 1. Relief valve damaged.
2. Oil fill plug gasket damaged.
3. Seals worn/damaged.
4. Cracked/worn/damaged parts.
1. Inspect/replace.
2. Inspect/replace.
3. Inspect/replace.
4. Inspect/replace.
Troubleshooting
3. Replace lower plug and add replacement oil
to upper fill hole until level reaches bottom of
hole.
4
. Without replacing fill plug, pump one lift
handle 10–15 times to expel any trapped air.
5
. Replace fill plug and clean up any hydraulic
oil residue. Old oil can be stored in a sealable
metal or thick plastic container and recycled
at a recycling center near you.
2.
Remove both hydraulic cylinder plugs (see
Figure 10) and allow oil to drain completely.
Figure 10. Hydraulic cylinder plug locations.
Pump valve nut on the back of the hydraulic cyl-
inder controls how open the pump valve is (see
Figure 9). If the nut is too loose, the forks will not
lower correctly, and if too tight, they won't lift.
Changing Hydraulic Oil
Hydraulic oil in the cylinder may need to be added
periodically after prolonged use or if it leaks
noticeably. We recommend ISO 32 or 46 grade
hydraulic oil.
To add hydraulic oil:
Adjusting Pump Valve Nut
1. Lower forks completely.
