Operation
Lifting the Machine
System weight: 80lbs (empty / without blast hose connected)
Double Handle Design for Easy Lifting
Only lift the ECO-100 when system is completely empty of all abrasive and all hoses are
completely disconnected (can become possible tripping hazard if any hoses are connected
during the lifting process).
Blasting on Higher Surfaces
The ECO-100 is designed to be light enough to go onto any scaffolding or man-lift when higher surfaces
need to be cleaned or blasted. If, for any reason, the system needs to stay on the ground, when
operator is blasting or cleaning high surfaces, please follow these tips:
Keep 10-20% of the blast hose length on the ground.
If 10-20% of blast hose length cannot be left on the ground because hose is too short, then
connecting a blast hose extension is recommended (sold separately in 50’ or 25’ lengths).
Keeping 10-20% of blast hose on the ground before elevating hose allows for abrasive to gain
velocity. This ensures proper abrasive flow while also preventing extreme recoil of nozzle when
trigger is activated.

Setting up ECO-100 for Use
1. Unthread fill cap to verify ECO-100 vessel is completely empty and free of all debris then
rethread fill cap to a “snug” hand tight fit.
Lubricate fill cap threading as needed to prevent “thread chatter” during the treading
and unthreading process.
The aluminum threading of the fill cap is hardened, anodized coated. This ensures long
life of the threading. Using the palm of your hand, push downwards, when threading
and unthreading fill cap; this will prevent “chattering” of threads.
2. Connect air hose to (customer supplied) compressor. Treated (clean, cool, dry) air is required to
operate the ECO-100 properly. If compressor does not have an air drying system built-in,
connect an ECO-Aire® air drying system (sold separately).
3. Connect air hose and blast hose. Always make sure to use safety cables and safety clips when
making these connections
4. Connect the red, black, and semi-clear blue poly lines at the coupler-side of the blast hose to the
connections (unions) next to the abrasive flow valve. Make these connection color-to-color.
Black and Red poly lines: For pneumatic control handle and control all
pneumatic systems inside control panel.
Semi-clear blue poly line: Carries water up the side of blast to the Vapor-Flex
nozzle.
5. Connect garden hose, with house pressure water flow, to ¾” garden hose connection, if water is
required for cleaning or blasting process (dustless/vapor blasting). If worksite does not have
running water, or a rust inhibitor needs be added into the water, then connect H2O To GO (sold
separately) to a gravity fed water tank (sold separately).
Preparing to Clean/Blast
1. Once all connections to ECO-100 have been made, start compressor and energize blast hose.
2. Activate pneumatic control handle and dial in desired cleaning/blasting pressure by turning
tank/blast pressure regulator knob.
The ECO-100 is a “pressure relief vessel”. This means, even if airline is energized, the
system will not have tank pressure until pneumatic control handle is activated. This
means that pneumatic control handle must be activated to find desired
cleaning/blasting pressure.
3. Unthread fill cap and insert funnel/screen to fill vessel with abrasive. The system will accept up
to 55lbs of abrasive (1 cuft). Once vessel is full, rethread fill cap lid to a “snug” hand tight fit.
4. Activate pneumatic control handle while slowing turning abrasive metering knob to find desired
abrasive flow. In most applications just a fine mist of abrasive is needed.
5. If needed, now activate water flow by turning water flow ball valve on the ECO-100.
6. Start cleaning/blasting.
The ECO-FLEX® Product Line, Designed and Engineered by Eclipse Surface Technologies LLC www.eclipseblast.com
Refilling the ECO-100
After deactivating pneumatic control handle, keep nozzle firmly in hands and
pointed away from any person until abrasive flow has completely stopped.
The ECO-100 is designed to be easy to use and fast to refill. If current pressure
and abrasive flow have already be set, then these (6) steps are all that is needed
for the refill process. There is no need to turn pressure down or close abrasive
metering knob to refill.
1. Deactivate pneumatic control handle.
Wait 3-5 seconds for system to fully depressurize (always verify pressure gauge
needle is at zero).
2. Unthread fill cap.
3. Insert funnel/screen.
4. Add abrasive to vessel.
5. Rethread fill cap.
6. Restart cleaning/blasting.
Using the Wash down Feature
Wash down feature is used when any abrasive or debris needs to be rinsed off a surface after the
cleaning/blasting process has been complete. This feature can also be used for a high pressure (100-
125PSI) rust inhibitor wash down.
1. Fully close abrasive metering knob.
2. Fully open water flow ball valve.
3. Set wash down pressure by turning tank/blast pressure ball valve.
4. Activate pneumatic control handle to begin water flow.
5. Point nozzle in a safe direction while waiting for all left-over abrasive to exit blast hose.
6. Start the wash down process.
Never use wash down feature to wash down any part of a person’s body.
CAUTION:
Even with abrasive ball valve fully close, small amounts of abrasive can still be travelling
through blast hose and exiting nozzle tip.
The ECO-FLEX® Product Line, Designed and Engineered by Eclipse Surface Technologies LLC www.eclipseblast.com
Emptying Vessel
Always verify all air pressure has escaped from vessel before beginning the abrasive emptying process.
1. Lay ECO-100 down (gauge/control panel side down).
2. Disconnect blast hose coupler from abrasive metering valve.
3. Disconnect red, black and semi-clear blue poly lines (next to abrasive metering valve) by pushing
blue rings on connections (unions) in and pulling poly line out.
4. Disconnect ½” black air line from the back of abrasive meter valve by pushing blue ring on
connection in and pulling airline out.
5. Remove the (2) safety clips from the cam and groove fitting above abrasive metering valve.
6. Lift the arms of the cam fitting upwards to fully disconnect abrasive metering valve from the
bottom of the ECO-100.
7. Stand the ECO-100 back up. Use a bucket/container to capture leftover abrasive/media.
8. Left-over abrasive will start to empty out of the vessel. Capture abrasive in bucket to reuse.
If abrasive is flowing out slowly, unthread fill cap to allow air flow.
If changing out hard abrasive to a soft abrasive always verify that vessel is completely
empty of all debris. Shake out abrasive metering valve to remove all debris as well.
9. Reassemble abrasive metering valve by following the above steps in reverse.
The bolt-on top can be removed for easy access and clean out of the vessel. In
most cases, the bolt-on top only needs to be removed if moisture or a foreign
object has gotten into the vessel.
When reinstalling the bolt-on top make sure that the top plate o-ring is sitting properly in the
o-ring groove.
Torque hex nuts down to 24lbs in a crisscross or star pattern (top of threaded bolts are labled
with numbers to show installation pattern).

Shutting Down
Properly shutting down the system, after blasting or cleaning process is complete, ensures quick and
easy setup for the ECO-100’s next use.
Follow these steps after all blasting and wash down is complete.
1. Fully close abrasive metering knob.
2. Activate pneumatic control handle to allow all residual abrasive to escape from the blast hose.
If abrasive sits in blast hose when system is not in use, possible clumping or clogging of
abrasive in hose is possible. This could cause air/abrasive flow issue on next use of the
ECO-100.
3. After all residual abrasive has escaped from blast hose, deactivate pneumatic control handle.
4. Turn off (customer supplier) compressor and depressurize air hose by pushing upwards on the
air purge stem of the ECO-100’s built in water separator/air filter.
5. After air hose is depressurized, disconnect air hose, and disconnect blast hose and all 3 poly
lines. Coil up and store all hoses properly.
6. Follow “Emptying Vessel” procedures.
If system will be used again, within a few days, leftover abrasive can stay inside vessel
(except baking soda or any other water soluble media). If system will not be used for a
long period of time (or if system will be stored laying down) full clean out of abrasive is
recommended.
