SATELLITE RECEIVER
DSF9O HD/230 is a device
designed to quickly find your
required DIGITAL satellites. The 8
most popular satellites used in
Europe are stored in the system
memory: Astra 28E, Astra23E,
Astra19E, Hotbird 13E, Eurobird
9E, Thor 1W, Atlantic Bird 5W and
Hispasat 30W. The Digital Finder
is equipped with visual and sound
indicators to achieve received signal
optimisation.
1) ON/OFF switch
2) Satellite selection button
3) Pointed satellite indicator
4) Signal level indicator
5) Pointing completed indicator
1) Connect the coaxial cable coming from the dish LNB to the ANT connector
of the DSF9O HD/230 device
2) Connect the REC connector of the DSF9O HD/230 device to the LNB connector
of your satellite receiver through another coaxial cable.
3) Connect the DSF9O HD/230 12 Vdc outlet to a 12 Volt battery (min 2 Amp/h)
or alternatively, to a mains outlet via the 12 / 230 V power supply.

Note: The USB port can
only be used by
technical personnel to
carry out software
updates.

Wait for the SAT OK LED to light up,
confirming that the pointed satellite is
the required one.
If a satellite different from the required
one has been pointed, the SAT NOT
OK LED will light up and the dish must
be rotated again until the "BEEP"
sound is heard again and the SAT OK
LED lights up.
Optimise pointing by slowly adjusting
both dish elevation and dish rotation
until the maximum number of burning
LEDs is obtained on the LEVEL
indicator.
If the power switch is not set to
OFF, no signal will reach the
satellite receiver and not TV
picture can be viewed.
Switch DSF9O HD/230 off by setting
its switch to the position "OFF" and
check for efficient signals reception
through your receiver and TV set.

Tips for easier satellite searching
All the main satellites are positioned towards the SOUTH. Check that there aren’t any
obstacles (such as trees, buildings etc.) nearby, hindering the reception of satellite signals
from SOUTH.
Make sure that you are actually within the reception area of your required satellite
(Font Print).
If you happen to find yourselves very far from the orbital position of your required satellite,
you may want to adjust your low-noise block converter angle.
LNB rotation for ideal signal reception in extreme (South-western
or South-eastern) areas in Europe
Please be reminded that your low-noise block converter (LNB) has its own special mounting
position that must be maintained, otherwise, you will be unable to receive any signals. The
LNB pre-defined installation position is along the dish centre line (Fig. A): in this configuration,
the Voyager G3 system will operate correctly in most European countries. If, however, you
happen to find yourselves very far from the orbital position of your required satellite, you may
want to adjust your low-noise block converter angle. This is especially true if you wish to
receive satellite signals from Astra 19E, Astra 28E or HotBird 13E and you are in Portugal
or Morocco: you will then have to adjust the LNB angle as shown (fig. B), while if you happen
to be in Turkey, to receive signals from the same satellites you will have to adjust your LNB
to the position shown in fig. C.
Area Position HotBird 13E Astra 19E Astra 28E
Lisbona B 25° 28° 37°
Casablanca B 27° 34° 41°
Ankara C 22° 15°
1) Loosen the LNB U-bolt locking screws
2) Turn in either the Clockwise (West)
or the Anti-clockwise direction
(South-East)
3) Lock the LNB again with the special
screws

Dish elevation maps
To correctly point the dish towards your required satellite, it is very important to tilt the dish
to the exact angle.
Check your position on the map, then set the dish elevation figure in degrees according to the
figure on the required satellite map.
The grey sections in the various maps identify the geographical areas in which LNB adjustment
may be necessary.
