LIFTING HANDLE KIT

P/N 999108

for use with UWM-79

Submerged Arc Welder

DESCRIPTION

The installation of this lifting handle kit (P/N 999108) is designed to allow two or more persons to lift and move the

UWM-79 over welding cables and low obstructions.

The lifting handle consists of a 1-in. diameter pipe with cross-pieces welded at each end and a flat mounting plate in

the center.

To install the lifting handle, bolt the handle assembly to the UWM-79 mounting bracket upright as shown in fig. 1.

NOTE:

Remember that the safe way to lift is to use your legs, not your back.

a. Make sure your footing is secure.

b. Bend your knees as you firmly grasp the object.

c. Keep your back straight, and then,

d. Gradually lift by straightening your legs while keeping your back striaght.

While lifting with a full coil of wire and a full flux hopper, the UWM-79 will

be off-balanced resulting in a twisting force to one side. (see Fig.1)
