BEFORE YOU START
You should fully charge your Fidelis recorder
before rst use.
Remove USB cap and plug into your
computer USB port. Please make sure that
your computer does not go to ‘sleep’ during
the charging.
Please charge for about 4 hrs for a full charge
SD CARD:
If you did not buy an SD card from us please
insert your own. is unit will not respond to
all directions in the manual if there is no SD
card to begin with. is unit can take up to
16GB SD card.

VIDEO RECORDING
Before starting, PLEASE ensure SD card is
inserted in properly and ALL THE WAY!
(see previous page)
VIDEO:To record video begin by turning
unit on. Firmly press and hold the VIDEO
button. e status light will turn red and
remain a steady red. is is STANDBY
MODE.
Please note that you may have to cup your
hand over the status light to see it. It may be
faint!
Now quickly press and release the VIDEO
botton. button again. e LED light (blue
light) will blink slowly. You are now in
video recording mode. note that the light is
hard to see so be sure to look carefully.
STOP VIDEO: To stop video recording
quickly press and release same VIDEO
button. e status light will return to a
steady RED. You have now stopped video
recording and back in STANDBY MODE.
Repeat as necessary.
NOTE: Each time you start and stop
recording a new le is created.

IMPORTANT: To make sure you are recording video UPRIGHT (and not UPSIDE
DOWN), hold or lay down your recorder such that the STATUS LIGHT is on top. is will
allow your videos to be up right and not upside down when playing back!

AUDIO ONLY RECORDING
Before starting, PLEASE ensure SD card is

AUDIO:To record audio begin by turning
unit on. Firmly press and hold the VIDEO
button. e status light will turn red and
remain a steady red. is is STANDBY
MODE.
Please note that you may have to cup your

Now quickly press and release the REC
botton. e LED light will change from a
steady RED to a steady BLUE. You are now
recording AUDIO ONLY!
STOP AUDIO: To stop audio recording
quickly press and release REC button. e
status light will return to a steady RED.
You have now stopped audio recording
and back to STANDBY MODE. Repeat as
necessary.
NOTE: Each time you start and stop
recording a new le is created.

PLAYBACK
You can listen to your recordings with the included by connecting your Fidelis recorder to
your computer USB port.
Once plugged in, an AUTOPLAY window will show up. Click OPEN FOLDER TO VIEW
FILES (see image below)
Aer clicking to open folder, you will see VIDEO and IMAGE les. Click the one you want
to pay either video or audio les.

Your Windows PC or Mac has built-in soware that will play most of the les created by devices
like yours. However, if you are having problems playing your les, or need more options, please
download and try these programs.
is soware is free and can be downloaded directly from the links below. You can nd support
and tutorials for these programs on their respective websites. SafetyBasement can not provide
soware support for these programs
As with ANY les you download from the internet, be sure to scan them for viruses using your
particular virus scanner. While most users report no issues using this soware, we can not be
responsible for any damage caused by this soware. Please proceed carefully. Back up your PC
before installing any new soware.

a version for Windows and for Mac OS X.
VIDEO EDITING for WINDOWS - MOVIE MAKER 2012

Movie Maker is a simple video editing program from Microso. Please go
to this link, and choose the download for your version of Windows. Please
note: Movie Maker is part of the Windows Essentials package.
VIDEO EDITING for MAC OS X - iMOVIE

iMovie is a simple video editing program from Apple. It comes installed with
your new Mac. e latest version is also available at the Mac App Store at
additional cost.
AUDIO PLAYBACK and EDITING - AUDACITY

Audacity is a popular audio editing program used by amateurs and
professionals to edit simple and complex audio projects. You can use
Audacity to convert your audio les to another format, such as MP3. ere
is a version for Windows and Mac OS X.
