Introducing the oil
• Place the Deep Fat Fryer on a heat resistant, flat surface. Make sure it is switched OFF at
the socket.
• Open the top lid by pressing the Lid Release Button.
• Remove the basket by lifting the basket handle upwards 45 degrees until you hear a click.
• Place approximately 1.5 litres of cooking oil into the oil pot (the level must always be
between the minimum and maximum marks on the oil container wall).
• Never mix two different types of oil.
Cooking
• Plug in the Fryer. The light indicator “Power” comes on.
• Set the temperature adjustment knob to the desired temperature depending on what you are
going to cook, the light indicator “Temp” comes on.
• When the light indicator “Temp” goes out (after approx. 5-7 minutes) the fryer has reached
the requested temperature. Lift up the basket handle 45 degrees until you hear a click and
press the Lid Release button. This will open the lid.
• Do not add water or wet foods to cooking oil. Even small amounts of water will cause the oil
to splatter. Always make sure that the food is dried thoroughly.
• Add the chosen food to be deep fried to the basket
• Close the lid lightly until a click is heard.
• Lower the basket into the oil slowly by pressing the handle lock button downwards and
lowering the handle. Ensure that the oil level does not rise above the maximum level.
• When the food is cooked, raise the basket handle to its horizontal position (until a click is
heard). This will raise the basket out of the oil. Leave for about 20 seconds until most of oil
has drained away from the food.
• Press the Lid Release Button and the lid will open by itself.
NOTE: the steam generated during frying will escape when the lid is opened. Be careful to
avoid this steam realise.
• Turn the temperature adjustment knob to the OFF position and unplug the fryer.
• Do not move the fryer until completely cooled.
Practical advice
Oils and fats
Always use oil that can withstand high temperatures.
• Do not mix different types of oil.
• Change the oil when it becomes brown after cooking (roughly after 20 frying sessions).
• Never fill the food basket more than half full.
Preparing the food
• Whatever the recipe used, the food must be perfectly dry: this will avoid overflowing; spitting
and will help the oil last longer.
• When preparing potato-based food (chips, crisps, etc.), cut them up and then wash them in
cold water to remove the starch. Dry them carefully. This will stop them sticking together.
Cooking
• Do not overfill the basket. This will cause the oil temperature to drop and make the food
greasy. Only ever fill the basket half full.
• Do not keep the oil at a high temperature for long periods. This will make the oil lose its
properties.
