Steps to be followed for updating the MAC OS 10.2 through 10.2.5 to
10.2.6
Mac OS X 10.2.6 Update (Combo) updates Mac OS X 10.2 through 10.2.5 to
version 10.2.6. You can get this combo update from
http://www.apple.com/support/downloads//macosxupdatecombo_10_2_6.html
Follow the following steps for updating the OS:
1. Go to
http://www.apple.com/support/downloads//macosxupdatecombo_10_2_6.html
2. Download the Update. This will download the file
MacOSXUpdateCombo10.2.6.dmg
3. Double Click on the MacOSXUpdateCombo10.2.6.dmg, it will give
MacOSXUpdateCombo10.2.6.pkg
4. Double Click on the MacOSXUpdateCombo10.2.6.pkg. This will start
updating the OS
5. Follow the steps of the installer
6. After installation is finished, it will restart the system
Steps to be followed for updating the JDK to 1.4.1 for MAC OS 10.2.6
or later
You can get JDK 1.4.1 Update from

Follow the following steps for updating Java
1. Go to
http://www.apple.com/support/downloads//java141update1formacosx.html
2. Download the Update. This will download the file Java141Update1.dmg
3. Double Click on the Java141Update1.dmg, it will give
Java141Update1.pkg
4. Double Click on the Java141Update1.pkg. This will start updating
5. Follow the steps of the installer
6. After installation is finished, it will restart the system
Steps to be followed to install/uninstall and run Magic Tune 2.0
application on Mac X
1. Expand the file ‘MagicTune2.0.sit’ using StuffIt Expander. This will create three
files
a) MagicTune.pkg – Double click on it to install MagicTune 2.0
b) Uninstall – to uninstall the application on any OS version except 10.4
c) Uninstall 10.4 – to uninstall the application on Mac OS 10.4 only
If you ever had a version of MagicTune on your machine, uninstall it before
installing MagicTune 2.0.
2. Follow the instructions of the installer program to install the application
3. After installing, restart the computer as asked by the installer program
4. Magic Tune will be installed in the applications folder of your computer. Double
click on its icon to run the application
Troubleshooting
1. Magic Tune installs properly, but when I run the application, nothing happens
The problem could be that the Java installed on your machine is not complete. To see
if this is actually the cause of the problem, go to the terminal and type the command
“java –version” (without quotes “”). If it gives Segmentation Fault, its surely a
problem with the Java installation. To fix it, install the ‘Security Update 2005-002’
and ‘Java Update 1.4.2 Update 2’ which are available for free at the following URLs
on Apple website, respectively.

2. I have Magic Tune 1.0 on my machine and when I install Magic Tune 2.0, it
doesn’t show me any new features
First uninstall the Magic Tune 1.0 by double clicking on the ‘uninstall’ file provided
with Magic Tune 2.0, then install Magic Tune 2.0.
