Output Connections
The following output ports are available at the DSR-6402 rear panel:
GIGE: If Gig-E functionality is used, it must be enabled via the TS option from the front panel
IP menu. Depending on the configuration of the TS option (Off, Transcoded, Passthru,
or Transcoded+Passthru) the GIGE port may carry one or more transport streams. When
Passthru is selected, a copy of the ASI OUT 1 transport stream is routed to the GigE port.
When Transcoded is selected, a copy of the ASI OUT 2 transport stream is routed to the
GigE port. When Transcoded+Passthru is selected, a copy of both ASI OUT 1 and ASI OUT
2 are routed to the GigE port.
ASI OUT 1: The ASI OUT 1 is the “Passthru” port. This port delivers MPEG4 video without transcoding
or other processing.
ASI OUT 2: The ASI OUT 2 is the “Transcoded” port. This port delivers MPEG2 compressed video.
The transcoded output can carry HD, SD, or a combination of the two. For the Discovery
services, only the HD stream is used.
VIDEO OUT: Primarily used for analog SD-only output; also used with analog audio terminals.
OSD VIDEO OUT: Confidence Video monitor (plus Fast Facts and Diagnostic video overlays of live video). This
SD output is not intended for live use, and has no closed-caption support.
Installation/Initial Configuration

In Case of Code Download
The DSR-6400 Series support background code download over satellite. If a newer version of firmware
becomes available, the unit automatically begins downloading and storing the new code at signal lock.Should
this occur, the front-panel Download LED will blink during download and turn solid green when the download
completes. When download is complete your unit will automatically reboot and load the new code on restart.
