The Tenor Supports SIP and H.323: SIP is gaining popularity among both enterprises and
service providers.
Beginning in mid to late March, the Tenor VoIP MultiPath Switches will support both H.323 and
SIP functionality on its line of Tenor VoIP MultiPath Switches. The SIP option will be available at no additional cost.
The initial release will be on the A400/A800 products, followed by the Tenor Digital/CMS products on April 1
st
.
Two New Smaller Chasses for
Tenor CMS
: We are happy to
announce that the Tenor Carrier MultiPath
Switch is being offered in two new
configurations. The Tenor CMS
240
is 1U
high and provides flexibility for CLECs,
ISPs, and next generation phone companies to easily and cost-effectively deliver high quality voice services over IP
in a small space-saving configuration. This model provides for 240 simultaneous VoIP calls. The Tenor CMS
960
is
4U high and provides for 960 simultaneous VoIP calls. As with the original Tenor CMS, both the new versions of
CMS will offer H.323, SIP, intelligent call routing, QoS, and intelligent switching for both circuits (DS0s) and VoIP,
all in one solution.
New Call Relay™ SP: Quintum also is announcing the availability of its high capacity Tenor Call Relay™ SP,
for service providers who wish to offer other partner providers a single, secure portal for access to their network.
This new product supports up to 720 simultaneous VoIP calls and supplements the current Call Relay, which
supports up to 32 simultaneous calls. The Tenor Call Relay VoIP
Portal supports VoIP to VoIP calling among VoIP endpoints,
which may be behind NAT firewalls, to route VoIP calls including
gateways, IP phones and IP soft phones that exist on different
IP domains. By providing direct connectivity between VoIP
networks, Tenor Call Relay SP eliminates double compression/decompression – thereby improving quality and
reducing the latency of VoIP transmission.
Tenor Call Relay further addresses security concerns by allowing H.323 traffic to be passed through network
address translation (NAT) firewalls. Using Quintum’s unique PacketSaver™ Technology, the Tenor Call Relay can
also reduce VoIP bandwidth consumption between destinations, by multiplexing multiple calls to a single IP
destination into shared packets. This multiplexing can cut overall bandwidth utilization by up to 57%.
New Call Routing Server: Quintum also announced its new Advanced VoIP Call Routing Server, a unique
solution for intelligently managing call routing through the increasingly complex IP-based voice networks being
deployed by today’s service providers. It provides a complete
range of routing management options, including:
Least Cost
Routing, QoS based routing, Source based routing,
best
pattern match, domain priority and load balancing. With the
Advanced VoIP Call Routing Server, service providers can
improve profitability, operational efficiency and quality of their VoIP services – thereby maximizing their
investments in VoIP network infrastructure. The Quintum Advanced VoIP Call Routing Server provides and next-
generation service providers, ISPs and carriers with scalable centralized network routing management, flexible
policy enforcement controls, and streamlined administration.
The Advanced VoIP Call Routing Server supports up to 720K Busy Hour Call Attempts, and provides simplified
management from an intuitive, Web-based GUI. Multiple servers may be distributed within the voice network for
even greater capacity and can operate in a redundant configuration. Routing modifications are immediately
reflected throughout the entire voice network without the need for routing modification on individual gateways.
