Arris SBV3202 is a DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem with two Voice-over-IP (VoIP) telephone lines. It provides high-speed Internet access and can be used for various purposes, including:

  • Connecting your computer to the Internet via the Ethernet port

  • Creating a home network by connecting multiple devices to the Ethernet port

This SURFboard device is a combination DOCSIS 3.0
telephony cable modem with two Voice-over-IP (VoIP)
telephone lines and optional baery backup (baery
sold separately). It uses DOCSIS 3.0 technology to
provide secure high-speed Internet access on your
home or small business network.
Using the connection capabilities of the cable modem,
you can connect your computer via the Ethernet port
and a land-line phone via the Telephone port. The
cable modem connects to the existing coaxial cable
connection in your home.
Note: For Internet connections, you need a cable
service connection (coaxial cable line) with a cable
Internet Service Provider. The SBV3202 will not work
with Digital Subscriber Line service (twisted pair
phone line) or satellite Internet service.

A
Place your cable modem on its side, then press down
and pull on the baery cover locking tab to open the
baery compartment on the boom of the cable
modem.
Slide the terminal end of the baery (label side up)
into the baery compartment until it is fully seated in
place.
Replace the baery cover with the locking tab facing
upward, and then push the baery cover until it snaps
into place.
Note: The baery for the SBV3202 is sold separately.
Baery operation is optional. Skip the following steps
if you do not intend to use a baery.
Note: The baery may take up to 12 hours to reach a
full charge.

Connect the coaxial cable (not included) from the
cable wall outlet or RF splier to the Cable connector
on the rear of your cable modem.

Tighten the connector by hand.

Connect a telephone cable to the TEL LINE port on
your telephone and to the TEL1 port on the rear of
your cable modem.

Connect the Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on
the rear of your cable modem and the Ethernet port
on your wireless router, PC, or laptop.

Connect the power cord to the Power port on the
rear of your cable modem, then plug it into an
electrical wall outlet that is not controlled by a wall
switch.

Your cable modem automatically powers ON when the
power cord is connected.

Check the front panel LEDs on your cable modem.
Aer a brief pause, the Online, US/DS, and Power
LEDs should light up SOLID green.

To save time, make sure you have the cable modem
model name (SBV3202), HFC MAC ID, and Serial
Number (S/N) listed on the cable modem label
located on the boom of your cable modem or
aached in the Cable Modem Label section at the end
of this document.
Note: For Comcast subscribers, please visit
www.comcast.com/activate before calling Comcast
or ARRIS. If there is an issue with the activation,
please call Comcast: 1-855-OK-BEGIN
(1-855-652-3446). Make sure you have your
Comcast XFINITY account number, account phone
number, and login information (your email address or
user name and password).

Verify cable modem connectivity by accessing the
Internet on your connected PC or laptop.
Visit any public webpage such as www.suroard.com.
If the website fails to open, please contact your service
provider to set up your Internet service or activate your
cable modem.

A
Monitor the SBV3202 operational status using the
SBV3202 Web Manager.
Open a web browser (e.g., Internet Explorer, Google
Chrome, etc.) on your connected computer or laptop.
Type the default LAN IP address, 192.168.100.1, in
the Address bar and press Enter.
