gives you a crisp, clear, full
color view on a screen that’s
large enough to exhibit the

miss on your camera’s tiny
LCD screen. Whether you use
the RigVision for lmmaking or
professional photography, the
vibrant 9” HD display allows
you to comfortably preview
and review your work both on
location and in the studio.

parts inside the device. Do
not attempt to disassemble
or perform any unauthorized
modication.
• Do not handle with wet
hands or immerse in or expose
to water or rain. Failure to
observe this precaution could

power and the RigVision’s

• Do not operate the RigVision
in the presence of ammable
gas or vapors.
• Observe caution when
handling batteries. Batteries
may leak or explode if
improperly handled. Use only
the batteries listed in this
manual.
• Batteries are prone to leakage
when fully discharged. To avoid
damage to the product, be sure
to remove the batteries when
leaving the product unattended
SAFETY WARNINGS

Charge the included battery
by placing it on the battery
charger and gently clicking the
battery into place. Plug the
charger into an outlet. The
status LED will glow red while
the battery is charging, and will
turn green once the charging is
complete.
Attach the charged battery by
placing it on the battery port
on the back of the RigVision
and pushing the battery down,
locking it into place.
To run the RigVision on
continuous power, plug the
included power adapter into
an outlet, and insert the other
end into the RigVision’s power
port.
BEFORE YOU BEGIN

To turn the unit on, move the
ON/OFF rocker switch on
the back of the RigVision to
the ON position. Move the
ON/OFF switch to the OFF
position to power down after
use.
Note: The ON/OFF rocker switch
powers all functions on and off.
The SLEEP button on the front
of the monitor switches the LCD
on and off. If the ON/OFF switch
is left in the ON position, the
RigVision will continue to draw
battery power. If you will not
be using the RigVision for an
extended period of time, be sure
to set the ON/OFF switch to the
OFF position to conserve battery
power.

1. Turn off the camera and the
RigVision.
2. Select the appropriate cable
[HDMI, AV, S-Video, or

3. Insert the cable into the
appropriate port located at the
top of the RigVision.
4. Attach the other end of the
cable to the camera.
5. Turn on the camera and the
RigVision.

1. Turn off the camera and the
RigVision.
2. Insert the cable into the
camera accessory port located
at the top of the RigVision.
3. Connect the other end of
the cable to your camera’s
shutter release jack.
4. Turn on the camera and the
RigVision.

1. Press the Source button to
display the source selection
menu.
2. Press the Source button
again to cycle through the
input options.
3. When the desired selection
is highlighted, press the UP or
DOWN button to make your
selection.

Single Shots
1. Turn on the RigVision’s
power.
2. Engage Live View mode on
your camera.
3. Press the RigVision’s Shutter
button halfway to focus your
camera (if set to Auto Focus)*.
The image in focus will appear
on the screen.
4. To trigger the shutter, fully
depress the Shutter Release
button.
*Auto Focus functions are not available
on cameras that do not have live view
AF controls.
TAKING A PHOTO
Continuous Shots
1. Turn on the RigVision’s
power.
2. Set the camera to
continuous mode.
3. Engage Live View mode on
your camera.
4. Press the Bulb button on
the RigVision. This will trigger
the camera to take continuous
photos until you press the Bulb
button again.
Bulb Mode (Long Exposure)
1. Turn on the RigVision’s
power.
2. Set the camera to bulb
mode.
3. Engage Live View mode on
your camera.
4. Press the Bulb button on
the RigVision. The shutter will
remain open until you press
the Bulb button again.
Note: The RigVision will beep continuously
while Bulb mode is engaged.

The RigVision cannot be
used to remotely start video
recording on your camera;
consult your camera for video
functions.
To stop video recording, fully
depress the Shutter button
on the RigVision.
Note: This feature may not be
supported by your camera; you
may need to stop the recording
via your camera.
Using Headphones
To listen to your video
recordings via headphones,
plug a pair of standard 3.5mm
stereo headphones into the
RigVision’s headphone jack.
Using the AF button in
Video Mode
1. Set the camera to Video
mode and engage Live View on
the camera.
2. Press the AF button on the
RigVision to autofocus in video
mode.
Adjusting the Volume
The volume of the RigVision’s
speaker can be adjusted via
the displays Up and Down
buttons.
SHOOTING VIDEO
Note: If the RigVision does not receive
a video signal, the audio feature will
not work.

The RigVision offers many
customizable options via
the device’s menus. You can
adjust the display’s contrast,
brightness, picture scale, sleep
timer, sound settings, and
more.
1. Press the Menu button to
access the menus.
2. Press the Up and Down
buttons to cycle through the
ve menus:
Picture for precise control
over contrast, brightness,
OSD for selecting the display
language, horizontal and
vertical position, duration, and
transparency;
Sound for control over
equalizer settings, left/right
speaker balance, sound mode,
AVC (Automatic Volume
Control), and Loudness.
3. When you reach the desired
menu, press the Source button
to cycle through the selected
menu options.
4. When you reach the desired
color, sharpness, color
tone, picture scale and noise
reduction;
PIP&POP (Picture-in-Picture
& Picture-on-Picture) for
control over the sub source,
sub picture size, PIP position,
Border color, sound source,
and the ability to swap the
main and sub image;
Setup for setting up sleep
timers, multiple windows, and
dynamic contrast ratio
(DCR);

The Infrared Remote can be
used to turn the RigVision’s
power on and off, adjust the
volume, and access and adjust
all the menu settings.
USING THE IR REMOTE
menu option, press the Up
and Down buttons to cycle
through the sub-options. Press
the Source button to lock in
your changes and move to the
next menu option.
5. For menu options that
feature an adjustment bar, such
as display contrast and sound
balance:
a. Press the Up or Down
button to access the
adjustment bar.
b. Press the Up and Down
buttons to incrementally
increase or decrease the
setting.
c. Press the Menu button
again to lock in the changes
and return to the Menu
screen.
6. Press the Menu button
within any of the ve menus to
exit Menu mode.
Note: The display will auto-exit Menu
mode if no selection is made after 35
seconds (Auto-exit is user-adjustable
from 10 to 60 seconds via the OSD
menu’s duration option).

The RigVision includes Shutter
Release Cables that enables
the device to work with
certain models of cameras.
Although only a limited
number of cables are included,
the RigVision works with many
other cameras as well.
At right are models of Vello
Shutter Release Cables for
the RigVision and the cameras
they support. For these cables,
and cables for other camera
models, check with your Vello
dealer.

Vello provides a limited warranty that this product is free from defects in materials and workmanship to the
original purchaser under normal use for a period of one (1) year from the original purchase date or thirty (30)
days after replacement whichever occurs later. Our responsibility with respect to this limited warranty shall be
limited solely to repair or replacement, at its option, of any product which fails during normal consumer use.
To obtain warranty coverage during the Warranty Period, contact your place of purchase (“Seller”) to obtain
a return merchandise authorization (“RMA”) number, and return to Seller the defective product along with
proof of purchase and the RMA number. This warranty does not extend to damage or failure which results
