Satco 80-958 Operating instructions

  • I've reviewed the instructions for the SATCO Load Stabilizer model 80/958. This document outlines how to use this device to resolve issues with LED flickering and dimming. It emphasizes that the device is wired in parallel with the LED load. I'm ready to answer any questions you may have about the device or its installation.
  • What is the purpose of the Load Stabilizer?
How should the Load Stabilizer be wired?
How much power does the resistor dissipate?
Model 80/958
Connect the black wire to the circuit line load (L) and the white wire to the neutral (N)
WARNING: Turn off the power when you perform any maintenance
Product description
If your LED fixtures or bulbs have issues with turning off all the way or flickering at specific dim
levels, use the Load Stabilizer/Load Resistor for LED Lighting to solve this problem. The resistor
wires in parallel with the LED load between the switch load wire (Black) and the neutral wire
(White). Because the resistor dissipates only .75W at 100 percent brightness, its heat generation is
minimal enough that it can be placed directly behind a dimmer switch or right at the load/fixture. At
lower brightness levels, dissipates even less than .75W. NOTE: Must be wired in parallel, not in
series. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician only. The circuit breaker must be
turned off during installation. Installation must be carried out by all applicable codes and
requirements.
