1.3 Safety instructions
Writing conventions
WARNING Avoid the described hazard: Otherwise there is danger from electric voltage that can lead to
death or serious bodily injury.
CAUTION Avoid the described hazard: otherwise minor or medium physical injury or material damage may
result.
For your safety
For safe operation and to avoid personal injury and equipment damage through operating error, al-
ways read these instructions, become familiar with the device, and follow all safety instructions on the
product and in this document, as well as the safety guidelines of Wurm GmbH & Co. KG Elektronische
Systeme. Keep these instructions ready to hand for quick reference and pass them on with the device
if the product is sold. Wurm GmbH & Co. KG Elektronische Systeme accepts no liability in the case

WARNING DANGER TO LIFE FROM ELECTRIC SHOCK AND/OR FIRE!
Only use the device with the supplied plug switching power supply.
For the plug switching power supply, use an easily accessible socket to ensure that the device
can be disconnected from the power supply in the event of a fault.
Do not use the device in locations where there may be children.
CAUTION DAMAGE TO THE DEVICE IF HANDLED INCORRECTLY!
Before opening the device, make sure that you are not electrostatically charged. Discharge your-
self on an earthed metal part, such as a heater, control cabinet, or refrigeration unit.
Install the device so that ambient air can flow through the air vents in the housing cover.
For installation, use screws with flat heads that do not exceed a height of 2.5mm. Screw heads
that are too high may cause short-circuits in the device.
The wiring of the device must be carried out only by qualified electricians!
Use the correct tools for any work!
Connect the connection lines without mechanical stress. The connection lines have only limited
strain relief and locking.
Check the entire wiring after connection!
Never expose the device to moisture, for example due to condensation or cleaning agents.
Take the device out of operation if it is faulty or damaged.
Do not repair the device yourself! If the device requires repairs, send it in with an exact descrip-
tion of the fault!
CAUTION RISK TO HEALTH!
Do not use the device in close proximity to the human body for an extended period of time.
Target group This manual is intended for "service technician" personnel.
Intended use The CAN-AP is a module for wireless access from mobile end devices
to the Wurm system via Bluetooth Low Energy, and a dew point control-
ler with integrated temperature sensor and humidity sensor.

CAUTION
MALFUNCTIONS DUE TO INCORRECT HANDLING!
Keep the openings on the device clear.
Do not install the device above radiators, near windows or doors, on surfaces that are exposed to
strong vibrations or direct sunlight, on exterior walls, on chimneys, or in walls or alcoves.
Install the device so that the embedded cable feed does not bring air currents into the housing.
CAUTION
ELECTROMAGNETIC INTERFERENCE MAY CAUSE FAULTS!
Always use shielded data cables and place them far away from power lines.
Do not use the device in close proximity to or on metal surfaces.
1.4 Installing
Tools: flat-head screwdriver with tip width 5mm max.
1. Using the screwdriver, lightly press the snap fastener on the right underside of the housing.
The snap fastener will release.
2. Remove the housing cover.
3. Install the housing base on the wall. For installation on stone and concrete walls, we recommend
countersunk head screws, 3mm in diameter, 30mm long and wall plugs 5mm in diameter.
Fig. 2: Drilling dimensions for wall installation in mm (drawing is not to scale!)
4. Place the housing cover on the left-hand edge of the installed housing base. Make sure that the
two retaining lugs on the housing base are positioned in the recesses in the housing cover.
5. Press the housing cover lightly against the housing base.
The housing cover will engage and the housing will close.
