The MATRIX AIS can be connected to a Raymarine C and E Classic Series Chart Plotter, however a NMEA multiplexer is needed
as the Raymarine has only one NMEA port. Brookhouse, a company in New Zealand has designed a multiplexer (model AISC) for
the Raymarine Classic C and E Classic Series Chart Plotters. The diagram below shows how to connect the multiplexer between the
Raymarine and the MATRIX AIS VHF radio.
After connections are made the communications port must be configured to 38400 baud. Refer to the RayMarine owners manual for
operation.
Raymarine Note:
When configuring the Classic C or E
Series NMEA output port, enable only
RMC and APB if autopilot is connected.
Note:
Sideways mounted connector with A and B
output connections. Wire Matrix AIS blue
to A and jumper B to Matrix AIS green and
NMEA Ch4 In B connections.
