See Wiring Diagram. Route all leads through the center hole of the

mounting plate and use appropriate code-approved connectors,

capping unused leads. In Remote Enabled (REM) versions, if no

remote lamps are to be connected, the extra wire harness may be

discarded.

Using caution not to pinch wires or connectors dressed inside the

junction box, secure the mounting plate to the junction box screws.

For increased security, additional screws are recommended. NOTE:

To ensure proper engagement of the mounting plate latches to the

housing, DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN THE SCREWS.

NOTE: This unit should be mounted ONLY through a

pair of the preformed keyholes onto a 4” “OCTAGON”

junction box, or through a pair of the keyhole knockouts

onto a 4” SQUARE junction box.

IMPORTANT: Provide each unit with a single-phase AC

unswitched power supply from a 120 V or 277 V circuit used

for normal lighting.

IMPORTANT: The battery must be connected to the unit prior

to applying AC power. Battery damage will occur if the battery

is connected for longer than 24 hours without providing

continuous AC power.

NOTE: Emergency lighting systems should be tested in accordance

with NFPA 101 or as often as local codes require, to ascertain that all

components are operational.

NOTE: Allow battery to charge 24 hours before initial testing, and 48

hours for full charge.

Normal Operation: When the unit is functioning properly, with power

applied to it, the “TEST” button will be illuminated red.

Manual Testing: Press the “TEST” button. It will remain illuminated

while the emergency DC lamps turn on.

Housing attachment to mounting plate:

Make certain all wires and connectors are routed to avoid interference

with other components, and that the battery wires are within the

battery compartment. Align latch openings on underside of housing

with latch buttons on mounting plate. Firmly push housing straight

onto mounting plate, making certain all four latches are fully engaged,

and the housing is closely aligned to the mounting surface.

Remote Enabled Versions :

Attach the free end of the security strap to the knob feature on the

right end of the mounting plate.

Important Battery Information:

Batteries are perishable items. For best results, it is recommended

that the batteries receive an initial charge within the first six months of

the manufacture date of the fixture. The manufacture date can be

found on the outside of the unit packaging and on the UL label as part

of the Date Code / Series. The first two digits in the date code

represent the year and the second two digits represent the month. In

many cases, batteries beyond the initial charge recommendation time

frame will recover if fully charged soon after installation. If such a

battery does not recover after a full initial charge, it should be

replaced.

Lamp Replacement:

Remove lamp bezel . Carefully unplug connector

from lamp assembly. Gently bend the snap at each side of the collar

outward to release the lamp assembly. Replace lamp assembly firmly

under the snaps on the collar, making sure the lamp wires are not

pinched. Reattach the lamp connector and replace the bezel.

Charger board replacement:

Flex the snap at each end of the charger board, and pull

the charger

board straight out of the housing. Re-connect all leads to the new

charger board. Slide the new charger board into place, making sure it

is secured by both snaps

Battery replacement:

Disconnect battery connector. Release hook-and-loop strap and

remove battery. Disconnect leads and connect to new battery. Install

new battery in orientation shown below and secure strap.

Reconnect the battery connector.

Vea el diagrama de cableado. Tienda todos los cables a través de la

abertura central de la placa de montaje y utilice conectores

apropiados con código aprobado, cables de tapa sin utilizar. En

versiones habilitadas remotas (REM), si no se conectarán lámparas a

distancia, el arnés de cables adicional puede descartarse.

PRUEBAS

NOTA: Los sistemas de iluminación de emergencia deben ser

probados de acuerdo con la norma NFPA 101 o con la regularidad

que exijan los códigos locales para cerciorarse de que todos los

componentes sean operativos.

NOTA: Permita que la batería se cargue 24 horas antes de la prueba

inicial. La carga completa toma 48 horas.

Funcionamiento normal: Cuando la unidad esté funcionando

correctamente, y se haya aplicado suministro eléctrico, el botón

"TEST" se iluminará de color rojo.

Pruebas manuales: Pulse el botón "TEST". Permanecerá

encendido mientras las lámparas de CC de emergencia se

encienden.

Accesorios de la carcasa para la placa de montaje:

Asegúrese de que todos los cables y conectores estén tendidos de

manera que eviten la interferencia con otros componentes, y que los

cables de la batería estén dentro del compartimiento de la batería.

Alinee las aberturas de los pestillos en el lado inferior de la carcasa

con los botones de los pestillos en la placa de montaje. Presione

firmemente la carcasa directamente sobre la placa de montaje,

asegurándose de que los cuatro pestillos estén completamente

enganchados y la carcasa esté estrechamente alineada con la

superficie de montaje.

Versiones habilitadas remotas (opción REM):

Fije el extremo libre de la cinta de seguridad a la función de mando

en el extremo derecho de la placa de montaje. Si una lámpara a

distancia está incluida en la instalación, enchufe los conectores de la

lámpara juntos.

Reemplazo de la lámpara:

Retire el bisel de la lámpara como se muestra a continuación.

Desenchufe con cuidado el conector del ensamblaje de la lámpara.

Doble con cuidado el encaje en cada lado del cuello hacia afuera

para liberar el ensamblaje de la lámpara. Reemplace el ensamblaje

de la lámpara firmemente bajo el encaje en el cuello, asegurándose

de que los cables de la lámpara no queden presionados. Vuelva a

conectar el conector de la lámpara y reemplace el bisel.

Para retirar el bisel de la lámpara, desenganche con

cuidado aquí en cada lado (no utilice herramientas)

Información importante sobre la batería:

Las baterías son productos perecederos. Para obtener mejores

resultados, se recomienda que las baterías reciban una carga inicial

dentro de los primeros seis meses posteriores a la fecha de

fabricación del aparato. La fecha de fabricación se encuentra en el

exterior del empaque de la unidad y en la etiqueta UL cumpliendo de

esta manera con el código de fecha/número de serie. Los dos

primeros dígitos del código de fecha representan el año y los

segundos dos dígitos representan el mes. En muchos casos, las

baterías, más allá del marco de tiempo recomendado para la carga

inicial, se recuperarán completamente si son cargadas después de la

instalación. Si este tipo de baterías no se recupera después de una

carga inicial completa, estas deben ser reemplazadas.

Desconecte el conector de la batería. Suelte la cinta de velcro y quite

la batería. Desconecte los cables y conéctelos a la nueva batería.

Instale la batería nueva en la orientación que se muestra a

continuación y asegure la cinta. Vuelva a conectar el conector de la

batería.

Reemplazo del cargador incorporado:

Flexione el encaje en cada extremo del cargador incorporado, y

saque el cargador incorporado de la carcasa. Vuelva a conectar

todos los cables al nuevo cargador incorporado. Deslice el nuevo

cargador incorporado hacia su lugar, y asegúrese de que quede

sujetado por ambos encajes.
