Magnify underwater worlds to make them look twice as big with this super-
cool, submarine-shaped ‘scope. Turn on the LED lights and peer under a dark
rock to see what is hiding there. Two extra-large eyepieces with comfy goggle
for perfect eye placement make this an excellent rst tool for your little
underwater explorer.
Using GeoSafari Jr.
®
SubScope
Before using your SubScope
TM
for the rst time, install 3 AAA batteries as
shown at the end of this guide.
Have your child insert the end of the SubScope into the water and put his or
her face up to the goggle. Look through the eyepieces. If more light is needed
to see (e.g., on a cloudy day or if you are peering under a rock), then press
down on the periscope to turn on the lights.
Use your SubScope in clear water where there is at least several feet of
visibility; if the water is murky, the LED lights will simply light up
the murkiness!
Encourage your child to try the SubScope in different bodies of water.
Start by viewing toys—and toes—in the bathtub. Then try tide pools, lakes,
rivers, ponds, etc. Bring the SubScope along whenever you go to the beach—
you never know what you’ll nd! Always stay close to your child when observing
in or near water.
Caution: The SubScope oats. Hold the SubScope rmly when placing
it in water. If your child lets go, it will pop out of the water and may
cause injury.
Caring for Your GeoSafari Jr.
®
SubScope
The SubScope is water resistant, but water, dirt, or sand may accidentally
get inside. If this happens, clean and dry the unit as soon as possible. If using
in salt water (such as the ocean), always rinse in fresh water after use in
order to remove the salt.
Battery Installation
1. Carefully remove the screws to remove the battery compartment door
located at the top of the SubScope.
2. Install 3 fresh AAA batteries in the battery compartment,
as shown in the illustration below.
3. Close the compartment door and tighten the screws.
