during normal operation

broken propeller

parts

plane

operation

The
use and
operation
of
remote control model airplanes
has to be
learned!
If you
have
never steered
such
a
model, start especially
carefully
and get
used
to the
reactions
of the
model
to the
remote control
commands
first.
Do be
patient!

If
batteries
are
used
for the
power supply
of the
transmitter, make
sure
that
there
is
a
sufficient
rest
capacity
(battery
checker)
. If the
batteries
are
empty,
always
replace
the
complete set, never
individual
cells only.
«Before
each operation,
control
the
settings
of the
steering
trim
at the
transmitter
for
different
steering directions and,
if
necessary,
reset them.
«
Always
switch
the
transmitter
on
first
and
make
sure
the
transimitter's
throttle
is at a
minimum.
And
then switch
on the
flight
battery
of the
model. Otherwise, unexpected reactions
of the
electric
model airplane
may
occur
and the
propeller
can
start
to
rotate
unintentionally!

the
correct
and
secure position
of the
propeller
before each operation.
»Make
sure
that
neither objects
nor
body parts
are in the
rotating
and
suction area
of
the
propeller
while
it is
rotating.

Before Operation

Unroll
the
wound
up
wire
of the
antenna
of the
model
to its
complete length.
The
part
that
hangs
out of the
model
at the
rear must neither
be
turned over towards
the
front
and
fastened
to the
model
nor cut
off.
The
best reception results
are
attained
if the
wire
hangs
loose
from
the
model
and is
dragged during
the
flight.
•
Make sure
that
there
are no
other models operated
within
the
range
of the
remote
control
installation
and on the
same
remote control channel (transmitter
frequency).
Otherwise,
you
will
lose control over
the
remote-controlled
model!
Always
use
different
channels
if you
wish
to
operate simultaneously
two or
several models
in the
immediate
proximity
of
each
other.

Check
the
function safety
of
your model
and the
remote
control
installation.
Pay
attention
to
visible
damages
such
as
broken
plug-in
connections damaged cables.
All
movable
parts
on the
model have
to be
smooth running, however, there must
be no
tolerance
in the
bearing.

flight

rechargeable
battery needed
in the
remote
control

into
the
required

During Operation
• Do not
take
any
risks
when operating
the
product.
Your
own
security
and
that
of
your
environment
depends
solely
on
your responsibility when dealing
with
the
model.
•Improper
operation
can
cause
serious
damage
to
people
and
property! Therefore, during
operation, ensure
a
sufficient
safety
distance
to
persons,
animals
and
objects.

Select
an
appropriate
site
for the
operation
of
your model airplane.
« Fly
your model only
if
your
ability
to
respond
is
unrestricted.
The
influence
of
tiredness,
alcohol
or
medicine
can
cause
incorrect
responses.

Do not
direct
your model towards spectators
or
towards yourself.
•
Motor,
and
flight
battery
can
heat
up
during operation
of the
model.
Therefore, take
a
break
of
5-10 minutes before re-charging battery
or
before re-starting
with
a
possibly existing spare
flight
battery.
•
Always
leave
the
remote control (transmitter) turned
on as
long
as the
model
is in
operation.
After landing,
always
disconnect
the
flight
battery first
or
switch
the
model off.
It is
only
afterwards
that
the
remote control
may be
turned off.
• In
case
of a
fault
or a
malfunction, correct
the
fault
first
then
re-start
the
model.
•
Don'
t
expose
your model
and the
remote
control
for a
longer period
of
time
to
direct
sunlight
or
excessive
heat.

BATTERIES
AND 9
TRANSMITTER'S
MODES
AND
CONSTRUCTION
RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES
Model
Keep
batteries/rechargeable
batteries
out of
reach
of
children.
Do
not let
batteries
/rechargeable
batteries
lie
around openly. There
is a
risk
of
batteries
being
swallowed
by
children
or
pets.
In
such
a
case,
seek
instant medical care!
Batteries/rechargeable batteries must never
be
short-circuited, taken apart
or
thrown
into
fire.
They
might explode!
Leaking
or
damaged batteries/rechargeable batteries
may
cause
acid
burns
when coming
into
touching skin, therefore
use
suitable protective gloves.
Conventional
batteries must
not be
re-charged.
Danger
of
fire
and
explosion!Only
charge
rechargeable
batteries, which
are
intended
for
this
purpose;
use
suitable rechargeable
battery
chargers.
When
inserting batteries/rechargeable batteries
or
when connecting
a
battery pack observe
correct
polarity (note plus/
+ and
minus/-).
If the
device
is not
used
for a
longer period
of
time(e.
g.
storage),
remove
the
inserted
batteries
(or
rechargeable batteries) from
the
remote control
to
avoid damage from
leaking batteries/rechargeable batteries
or
products.
Recharge
the
rechargeable battery about every

months,
as
otherwise, there
may a so
called
deep
discharge
due to the
self-discharge,
which
can
make rechargeable batteries
useless.
Always
exchange
the
entire
set of
batteries
or
rechargeable batteries.
Do not mix
full
batteries/rechargeable batteries
with
half-full
ones.
Always
use
batteries
or
rechargeable
batteries
of the
same
type
and
manufacturer.
It is
possible
to
operate
the
remote control (transmitter)
with
rechargeable
batteries
instead
of
standard
batteries.
However,
the low
voltage
(batteries=1.
5V/cell, rechargeable
batteries=1.
2V/cell)
and
the
lower capacity
of
rechargeable batteries
does
lead
to a
decrease
of
the
operating
time.
However, normally this
does
not
matter,
since
the
operating
time
of the
transmitter
is far
beyond
of the
model airplane.
If
you use
batteries
in the
remote control,
we
recommend
the use of
hight-quality
alkaline batteries.
When
using rechargeable
batteries
there
can be a
decrease
in
range.

GETTING STARTED WITH
THE
TRANSMITTER
Please

indicated
with
the
respective figure number.
a)
Inserting
the
Batteries/Rechargeable Batteries
For
the
power supply
of the
transmitter
you
will
need
eight
mignon
alkaline
batteries
or
rechargeable batteries
(AA).
For
ecological
and
also
economical
reasons,
it is
recommended
to use
rechargeable
batteries,
since they
can be
recharged
in the
transmitter
via a
built-in
charging socket.
To
insert
the
batteries
or
rechargeable
batteries,
procedures
are as
follows.
The
battery compartment
lid(1)
Is
located
on
the
rear side
of the
transmitter.
Please
press
the
corrugated
triangle
and
push
off the lid
downward.
Now
insert
the
eight
batteries
or
rechargeable
batteries
in the
battery
compartment. Observe
the
correct
polarity
of the
individual
cells.
A
corresponding
note(3)
is
located
on the
bottom
of the
battery compartment.
Afterwards,
slide
the lid of the
battery
compartment back
on
from
the
bottom
and let
the
locking mechanism
click
into
place.
Either
a
teacher/student cable
with
a 3. 5mm
jack connector
or an
interface
cable
for
flight
simulator
can be
connected
can be
connected
to the
student
socket.
b)
Charging Rechargeable Batteries
in the
Transmitter
The
transmitter
is
equipped
with
a
charge
socket
to
charge
the
inserted rechargeable
batteries.
Please
pay
attention
to the
following
safety
instructions
and
information:

If the
transmitter
is
turned
on,
please
do not
connect
the
adapter
with
the
battery
(1.
5V/cell)
must
not be
recharged. There
is a
risk
of
fire
and
explosion!
Only
charge rechargeable batteries
(1.
2V/cell) intended
for
this purpose.
The
transmitter
has to be
switched
off
during
the
charging
process.
Please
also
observe
the
correct
polarity
of the
connector plug.
The
inner contact
of
the
charge
socket
has to be
connected
to the
plus connection
(+) and the
outside
contact
to the
minus connection
(-) of the
charger.
The
charging current should
be
approx.
1/10
of the
capacity value
of the
inserted
rechargeable
batteries.
For
rechargeable batteries
with
a
capacity
of
2000
mAh
this
corresponds
to a
charging current
of
approx.
200
mA
and the
charging
time
takes
approx
14
hours.
In
order
to
avoid
damages
of
internal
circuit
paths
and
connections
don'
t use
fast
chargers.
please
Since
a
protective diode
is
integrated
in the
transmitter,
do not use
chargers
that
briefly
interrupt
the
charging current
in
order
to
measure
the
current
rechargeable
battery voltage
in
this
case,
the
rechargeable batteries must
be
removed
from
the
transmitter.
With
NiCd
rechargeable batteries
a
memory effect
can
occur.
If
NiCd
rechargeable
batteries
are
charged when they
are not
fully
discharged,
their
capacity
diminishes
in the
course
of
time.
Thus,
such
rechargeable batteries
must
be
discharged
with
an
appropriate charger outside
of the
transmitter
and
then charged completely again.
c)
Switching
the
Transmitter
On/off
Attention!
•
The
flight
control
system
in the
model
is
equipped
with
an
effective protective
I
circuit
which
later
prevents
the
unintentional start-up
of
the
drive motor.
llS;
However,
before
each
operation
of the
transmitter,
you
must
ensure
that
the
control stick
for the
motor
rotation
speed
is in
the
Motor
off
position.
For
this purpose,
the
control stick
has to be
pushed
down completely
or
pulled
towards
you as far as
possible.
Sine
unlike
with
the
control functions
of
the
rudder,
there
is no
reset spring
for the
stick function
for the
motor
rotation
speed,
the
control stick
always
remains
in the
previously
set
position.
When
the
rechargeable batteries
are
charged
or
when
new
batteries
are
inserted,
for
test
purposes,
switch
the
transmitter
on via the
function switch.
The LED
display glows
red and
signals
an
adequate power supply
to the
transmitter.
If the
power
supply
does
not
suffice
for the
transmitter
to
work properly (lower than
8. 8V)
the
LED's
red
light
will
be
continuous flashing.
In
this
case,
you
should stop operating
your model
as
quickly
as
possible.
For
further operation
of the
transmitter
the
rechargeable batteries
are to be
recharged
or
new
batteries must
be
inserted.

CHARGING
THE
FLIGHT
BATTERY

ASSEMBLY
Before
the
final
assembly
of the
model.
You
should
charge
the
flight
battery
(1).
An
appropriate
plug-in
battery
charger(2)
is
included
in the
delivery.
Connect
the
flight
battery
with
the
connectors
(3) of the
plug-in
charger.
The
connector
or
socket
of the
plug-in
charger
has to be
connected
to the
socket
or
connector
on the
battery cable.
Then
connect
the
plug-in
charger
to a
100V-240V,
50Hz/60Hz
mains
socket.
;
For
photo-technical
reasons,
the
charging cable
of the
plug-in
charger
is
:
illustrated
in
wound
up
state. Before
the
first
use,
the
cable retainer should
be
opened
and the
cable
be
unwound.
Safety
Instruction

Li-Poly battery

Do not
disassemble
or
reconstruct
the
battery.

short-circuit

leave

fire,

heated place (more than

Cautions
1.
Be
fully
charged under

more than

step-by-step.
It
does
assume
that
this
is not
your
first
airplane.
If you

Let'
s
start
by
gluing
the two
main wing panels together.
Use
5
minute
epoxy
for
this
step. Make sure
that
the
aileron servo wires
are
routed
to
the
top-side
of the
wing panels.
After
the
epoxy
has
set,
it is
time
to add
the
carbon tube reinforcement
to the
center
section
of the
wing-Mix
a
small amount
of
5-minute
epoxy
and
spread
it
along
the
groove
in the
bottom center
of the
wing.
Press
the
carbon tube
in
position
and let
the
epoxy set.
3.
Glue
the
foam
filler
into
the
space
on the
bottom
of the
wing.
4.
Locate
the
black plastic wing locator
and
use
it to
press
a
dent
into
the
front
edge
of the
wings. With your
hobby
knife
cut a
small
groove
for the
plastic part.

Glue
wing
locator
into
position
with
a
small amount
of
epoxy.
6.
Locate
pre-bent
landing gear, plastic
landing
gear straps
and
mounting screws.

Insert
wire
landing
gear
leg
into
mount.
Wheel
should
be on the
wingtip
side
of the
landing gear
wire.

Put
the
plastic
landing
gear straps
in
position
and
insert
screw.
Tighten
with
a
Phillips
screwdriver.
9.
Apply
a
thin
bead
of
foam glue around
the
edge
of the
foam cover
and put it in
position.
10.
Remove
the
cover over
the
Speed
controls
on
the
bottom
of the
fuselage.
11.
Roll fuselage
upright
and
test
fit the
engine
nacelles
in
place.
Apply
epoxy
to the
mounting
area
on the
fuselage.
Pass
the
motor
wire
through
to the
bottom
of the
fuselage.
12.
Press
nacelles
into
position
and
hold
until
epoxy
sets.
13.
Separate
the 6
motor wires
into
two
pairs
of 3
wires. Make
sure
that
each
3
wire
set
is
from
one
motor.
Plug
the
motor wires from
a
single motor
into
one of the
electronic
speed
controls
(ESC).
14.
Only plug
one
motor
to one
speed
control.
Plug
the
control wire
(flat
3
wire
set)
into
the
throttle
channel
of
your receiver. With
your transmitter ON and the
throttle
stick
DOWN,
plug
in the
lipo
battery. After
the
ESC
initializes
(you
will
hear
an
audible
signal)
advance
the
throttle
just enough
to
spin
the
motor.
Check
that
it is
rotating
in the
correct direction
and
blowing
air
to the
rear
of the
jet.
15.
If the
motor
is not
running
in the
correct
direction simply unplug
any 2 of the 3
motor
wires
and
switch
their
position, this
will
reverse
the
direction
of
motor rotation.

Repeat
this
process
for the
second
motor.

17.
Position both
ESC s so
that
the
heat
sinks
are
facing
the
bottom
of the
jet.

Reinstall
the
plastic cover
with
screws.
NOTE:
Unplug Lipo battery
and
turn
off
transmitter.

tail

connector

the
Aileron channel
on
receiver.

EOF
flying

should
be an
easy
transition.

take-off
into
the
wind

land

personally recommend
the use of a
buddy-box
training
system
for new
pilots.
Landings
are
best accomplished
with
a
tiny
amount
of
throttle.
You can
expect
flight
times
of
5~8
minutes depending
on
battery
used
and
throttle
management.

GENERAL
1.
A
model aircraft shall
be
defined
as a
non-human carrying device capable
of
sustained
flight
in the
atmosphere,
it
shall
not
exceed
limitations
established
in
this code
and
is
intended
to be
used
exclusively
ofr
recreational
or
competition
activity.

The
maximum takeoff weight
of a
model aircraft,
including
fuel,
is 55
punds,
except
for
those flown under
the AMA
Experimental Aircraft Rules.
3.
I
will
abide
by
this
Safety
Code
and all
rules established
of the
flying
site
I
use.
I
will
not
willfully
fly my
model aircraft
in a
reckless
and
/or
dangerous manner.
4.
I
will
not fly my
model aircraft
in
sanctioned events,
air
shows,
or
model demonstrations
until
it has
been proven airworthy.
5.
I
will
not fly my
model aircraft
higher
than approximately
400
feet
above
ground
level,
when
within
three(3)
miles
of an
airport without
notifying
the
airport operator.
I
will
yield
the
right-of-way
and
avoid
flying
in the
proximity
of
full-scale
aircraft,
utilizing
a
spotter
when
appropriate.
6.
I
will
not fly my
model aircraft
unless
it is
identified
with
my
name
and
adress,
or AMA
number, inside
of
affixed
to the
outside
of the
model
aircraft.
This
does
not
apply
to
model aircraft
flown
indoors.
7.
I
will
not
operate model
aircraft
with
metal-blade
propellers
or
with
gaseous
boosts
(other
than
air),
nor
will
I
operate model aircraft
with
fuels containing tetranitromethane
or
hydrazine.
8.
I
will
not
operate model aircraft carrying pyrotechnic devices which explode
burn,
or
propel
a
projectile
of any
kind
.
Exceptions
include
Free
Flight
fuses
or
devices
that
burn
producing smoke
and are
securely attached
to the
model aircraft during
flight.
Rocket
motors
up to a
G-series size
may be
used, provided they remain
firmly
attached
to the
model
aircraft
during
flight.
Model rockets
may be
flown
in
accordance
with
the
National Model Rocketry Safety
Code;
however, they
may not be
launched from
model
aircraft.
Officially designated
AMA Air
Show
Teams
(AST)
they
may not be
launched
9.
I
will
not
operate
my
model
aircraft
while
under
the
influence
of
alcohol
or
with
in
eight(8)
hours
of
having
consumed
alcohol.
10.
I
will
not
operate
my
model aircraft
while
using
any
drug which could adversely affect
my
ability
to
safely control
my
model aircraft.
11.
Children under
six
(6)
years
old are
only allowed
on a
flightline
or in a
flight
area
as
a
pilot
or
safely control
my
model aircraft.
12.
When
and
where required
by
rule
,
helmets must
be
properly worn
and
fastened. They
must
be
OSHA,
DOT,
ANSI,
SNELL
or
NOCSAE
approved
or
comparable standards.
RADIO
CONTROL
1.
All
model
flying
shall
be
conducted
in a
manner
to
avoid over
flight
of
unprotected people.
2.
I
will
have
completed
a
successful
radio equipment ground-range check before
the
first
flight
of a new or
repaired model aircraft.
3.
I
will
not fly my
model aircraft
in the
presence
of
spectators
until
I
become
a
proficient
flier,
unless
I am
assisted
by an
experienced
pilot.
4.
At all
flying
sites
a
line
must
be
established,
in
front
of
which
all
flying
takes place.
Only
personnel
associated
with
flying
the
model aircraft
are
allowed
at or in
front
of the
line.
In
the
case
of
airshows
demonstrations straight
line
must
be
established.
An
area away from
the
line
must
be
authorized
for
spectators.
Intentional
flying
behind
the
line
is
prohibited.
5.
I
will
operate
my
model aircraft using only
radio-control
frequencies
currently
allowed
by
the
Federal Communications
Commission
(FCC).
Only individuals properly licensed
by
the FCC are
authorized
to
operate equipment
on
Amateur
Band
frequencies.
6.
I
will
not
knowingly operate
my
model aircraft
within
three
(3)
miles
of any
preexisting
flying site
without
a
frequency-management agreement.
A
frequency management agreement
may
be an
allocation
of
frequencies
for
each
site,
a
day-use agreement between sites,
or
testing which determines that
no
interference
exists.
A
frequency-management agreement
may
exist between
two or
more
AMA
chartered clubs,
AMA
clubs
and
individual
AMA
members,
nor
individual
AMA
members. Frequency-management agreements,
including
an
interference
test report
if the
agreement indicates
no
interference exists,
will
be
signed
by all
parties
and
copies provided
to AMA
Headquarters.
7.
With
the
exception
of
events flown under
official
AMA
rules,
no
powered model
may
be
flown
outdoors closer than
25
feet
to any
individual,
except
for the
pilot
and
located
at the
flight
line.
8.
Under
no
circumstances
may a
pilot
or
other
person
touch
a
model
aircraft
in
flight
while
it is
still
under power, except
to
divert
it
from
striking
an
individual.
9.
Radio-controlled
night
flying
is
limited
to
low-performance model
aircraft
(less
than
100
mph).The
model
aircraft
must
be
equipped
with
a
lighting
system which
clearly
defines
the
aircraft'
s
attitude
and
direction
at all
times.
10.
The
operator
of a
radio-controlled
model
aircraft
shall
control
it
during
the
entire
flight,
maintaining
visual
contact
without
enhancement
other
than
by
corrective
lenses
that
are
prescribed
for the
pilot.
No
model
aircraft
shall
be
equipped
with
devices which
allow
it to be
flown
to a
selected
location
which
is
beyond
the
visual
range
of the
pilot.
PARK
FLYER SAFE OPERATION RECOMMENDATIONS
Inspect your model before every flight
to
make certain
it is
airworthy.
Be
aware
of any
other radio frequency user
who may
present
an
interference problem.
Always
be
courteous
and
respectful
of
other users
of
your selected flight area.
Choose
an
area clear
of
obstacles
and
large enough
to
safely accommodate your flying
activity.
Make certain this area
is
clear
of
friends
and
spectators prior
to
launching your aircraft.
Be
aware
of
other activities
in the
vicinity
of
your flight path that could cause potential
conflict.
Carefully plan your
flight
path prior
to
launch.
Abide
by any and all
established
AMA
National Model Aircraft Safety Code.
