enteringaroom)withinitseld-of-view(monitoredspace)and
eitherautomaticallyormanuallyswitcheslightsONandOFF
(OSSNL-INx)ormanuallyswitcheslightsONandautomatically
switcheslightsOFF(OSS10).Thecontrolledlightswillremain
ONuntilnomotionisdetectedandthescheduledtime-delayhas
expired.TheLEDNightLightoperatesseparatelyfromcontrolled
roomlightsandwillturnONviaaphotocellwhentheambientlight
inthespaceisapproximatelylessthan1footcandleandturnOFF
whentheambientlightexceeds5footcandles.TheLEDNightLight
isadjustableforcontinuousmodeoradimmode.Inthedimmode
theLEDdimstoapproximately5%offullbrightnessafter2minutes
ofnooccupancy.WheninthemanualONswitchmode,theLED
NightLightwillfadeupandreturntotheadjustablesettingwhen

PASSIVE INFRARED (PIR) TECHNOLOGY DESCRIPTION
TheOccupancySensorsensesmotionwithinitscoverageareaof
1200sq.ftmaximumandcontrolstheconnectedlighting.Thisisa
self-containeddevicewhichprovidessensingandlightcontrol.The
OccupancySensorwillturnthelightsONwhenmotionisinitially
detected(OSSNL-INxOnly),andkeepthelightsONforaslong
asmotionisdetected.TheOSS10isamanualONdevicewith
automaticOFFwhennooccupancyisdetected.
TheOccupancySensorusesasmallsemiconductorheatdetector
thatresidesbehindamulti-zoneopticallens.ThisFresnellens
establishesdozensofzonesofdetection.TheSensorissensitive
totheheatemittedbythehumanbody.Inordertotriggerthe
Sensor, the source of heat must move from one zone of detection
toanother.Thedeviceismosteffectiveinsensingmotionacross
itseld-of-view,andlesseffectivesensingmotiontowardsoraway
fromitseld-of-view(refer to Field-of View diagrams).Keepthis
inmindwhenselectingtheinstallationlocation.
NOTE:Dresswireswithabendasshownindiagramtorelieve
stresswhenmountingdevice.

Positionallwirestoprovideroominoutletwallboxfordevice.
• Partiallysecuredeviceusinglongmountingscrewsprovided.
• Restorepoweratcircuitbreakerorfuse.
• TheLEDindicatorwillashafterpowerisapplied.Allow
approximtely30secondsforcharge-up.After30secondsthe
lightswillturnON.IfthelightsturnONandtheLEDblinks
when a hand is waved in front of the lens, then the Sensor was
installedproperly.

BLINDERS:Theblinderscannarrowtheeld-of-viewofthedevice
topreventunwantedactivationfromtrafcinadjacentspace.There
aretwoblinders,andeachoperateindependently.Tooperatethe
blinders,useangerorsmallscrewdrivertomovetheblinder
adjustmentleverstowardorawayfromthecenterofthedevice.
Theblinderleversarefoundabovethecontrolknobsandbelowthe
text‘BLINDERS’onthecontrolpanel.Withbothleversmovedfully
towardsthecenter,theeld-of-viewisnarrowedto32°.Withboth
leversmovedfullyawayfromthecenter,theeld-of-viewisata
maximum180°(refer to Sensor Features Diagram).

temperature,socareshouldbetakennottomountthedevice
nearaclimatecontrolsource(i.e.radiators,airexchanges,andair
conditioners).Hotorcolddraftswilllooklikebodymotiontothedevice
andwilltriggeritiftheunitismountedtooclose.Itisrecommended
tomounttheOccupancySensoratleast6ft.awayfromtheclimate
controlsource.Thedevicecanbemountedinasinglegangwallbox.
Inaddition,itisalsorecommendedNOTtomounttheOccupancy
Sensordirectlyunderalargelightsource.Largewattagebulbs
(greater than 100W incandescent) give off a lot of heat and switching
thebulbcausesatemperaturechangethatcanbedetectedbythe
device.MounttheOccupancySensoratleast6ft.awayfromlarge
bulbs.Ifitisnecessarytomountthedevicecloser,lowerthewattage
ofthebulbdirectlyoverhead.
