- The issue occurs only when used in combination with a navigation display (such as
MDRC, Dell, HP….) that has a different resolution (i.e. 1600x1200)
- The issue occurs only when the displays are connected to the QAWeb Server
- The issue occurs only with displays with a platform900 board with Green functionality
enabled
Urgency
When the issue occurs at a customer site.
Problem
Due to a firmware issue on the platform 900 interface board, displays supporting the
Hibernate function (also known as deep sleep) may cause windows to be repositioned or
resized when returning from hibernate mode. The reason is that windows is not able to
detect the correct display parameters of the display after the display returns from a low-
power state and it reverts back to the parameters of the navigation display (which will
return from low-power state faster).
Solution
Currently affected displays are shipped with the Hibernate setting switched off in the OSD of
the display. However, when connecting to the QAWeb Server, a default policy will enable
this Hibernate setting automatically (every day). This does not happen when using only a
local QAWeb Agent.

A final solution is to upgrade to firmware 1.08, however at the time of writing, this firmware
is not yet available. As a workaround, the following should be performed on the
workstation:
1. Log on to the QAWeb Server of the facility (as facility administrator or root user)
2. Edit the policy so that the Hibernate setting is not automatically enabled every day
(Keep in mind that QAWeb can only enable or disable the Hibernate function. It can not
ignore the display setting)
a) Browse to the facility overview and select the node for which you want to edit
the policy (eg. Facility, Department, Workstation)
b) Select policies on the left hand side and select ‘view policy’ for the correct
display family (eg New Coronis Grayscale)
c) In the policy menu, click ‘view setting’ next to the hibernate policy
d) Select ‘disabled’ and click apply and finish
e) The hibernate function will now be disabled for all displays of the selected
display family under the specified node
3. Once the policy is changed, QAWeb will check this setting every 15 minutes as a part of
tha calibration settings check and disable the hibernate function, if enabled.
4. As soon as a new firmware fix is available, the displays can be updated and the policy
on QAWeb should be changed back to its original settings.
Field Follow-up
When customers contact the helpdesk for this issue and no firmware fix is available yet, the
assigned person within the helpdesk must inform the Escalation Support Team Lead (CABO)
of the Service Request number of the case. This way, once the firmware fix is available, we
can inform affected customers of this and the changes made in QAWeb can be restored.
This is done for every case (even when the customer decides not to change the policy and
will continue to work with the resized/repositioned windows.
