1 GENERAL

PALAZZETTI equipment is manufactured and

tested in conformity with the safety standards

indicated in the applicable European directives.

1.1 SYMBOLS USED

The following symbols are used throughout this

manual to highlight important points:

INSTRUCTION: Information about the correct

use of the appliance and the responsibilities of

operators.

CAUTION: Indicates an aspect deserving special

attention.

DANGER: Indicates an important behaviour rule

for preventing injuries or damage to objects.

1.2 INTENDED USE

The connection box is a device for interfacing a

Palazzetti pellet stove to a cellular phone or the

internet.

You can use the Connection Box on your mobile

device just by installing the appropriate app

“PALAZZETTI”, available on the store of your

device.

The connection box may only be used with

compatible stoves.

The appliance is not intended for use by people

(including children) with reduced physical,

experience or knowledge, unless they are

adequately supervised or instructed on the

appliance’s use by a person responsible for their

safety.

The above intended use is the only one permitted

by the manufacturer: do not use the product for

instructions.

2 SAFETY

PRECAUTIONS

Observe the instructions contained in this

manual.

The user must comply with all relevant local,

national and international safety regulations.

Do not make any electrical connections using

temporary or uninsulated cables.

Verify that the electrical system’s earthing device

Prior to assembling or dismantling the product,

the installer must observe the safety precautions

A) refrain from working in adverse conditions;

B) work in perfectly sound psycho-physical

conditions and check that his personal

protective equipment is intact and in good

working order;

C) wear protective gloves;

F) ascertain that the area in which the assembly

and dismantling are to be done is free of

obstacles.

Disconnect the power supply before working on

electrical or electronic parts and connectors.

3 DESCRIPTION

The connection box is supplied with all

equipment required for connection to a

compatible Palazzetti pellet stove.

4 INSTALLATION

To install the connection box, proceed as follows:

CAUTION! Make sure the antenna is fully

screwed in.

 hook the device up to the Palazzetti stove

 secure the connection box to the stove

 power up the connection box.

4.1 HOOKUP TO STOVE

The type of hookup depends on the stove in

question.

4.1.1 3HOOHWVWRYHVFRQ¿JXUHGLQWKHIDFWRU\

If your pellet stove has already has a free

female RJ11 socket, it is ready to hook up to

the connection box. You need only connect the

connection box’s RJ11 connector to the stove

In this case, there is no need to use the splitter

included in the kit.

4.1.2 Installation via control panel with RJ11

connector

 Disconnect the RJ11 connector from the

4.1.3 Installation using Modu2 4p connector

This type of installation may only be done by a

Palazzetti technician.

For all Palazzetti stoves which are not pre-

its back, the connection box must be connected

directly to the stove’s electronics.

Hookup:

 Make sure the stove is out and switched off

connection box and the RJ11 male/MODU2

4pin female cable.

 Connect the MODU2 4 pin connector to the

appropriate connector on the stove’s PCB.

4.2 SECURING THE CONNECTION BOX

TO THE STOVE

The connection box mounts to the stove with the

included adhesive velcro strips.

 Find a cold position on the back of the stove,

which is also located so as not to get in the

way of maintenance or impede the stove’s

operation

 Stick the velcro to the connection box and

the stove itself, and position the connection

box in such a way that its antenna is directed

 Secure any loose cables to the stove’s back

panel with a tie.

4.3 POWERING UP THE CONNECTION

BOX

 Connect the power supply unit’s plug to the

power socket on the connection box

 Plug the power supply unit into a mains

 Power up the stove

RESETTING THE CONNECTION BOX

The connection box has a reset button which

restores the device’s factory settings.

Operation:

 Disconnect the connection box from its

power supply

 Press and hold down the reset button while

reconnecting the power supply

 Keep holding the reset button down for 30

seconds.

You can use the Connection Box on

your mobile device just by installing

the appropriate app “PALAZZETTI”,

available on the store of your device.
