IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ!
Any deviation between the needle and the sound is indicative and do not represent a measurement value as would be provided by a
parabolic checking instrument, although the satellite is not identified. It is therefore advisable to use a satellite receiver at the same time
with pre-programmed channels in order to verify that the receiver dish is properly directed toward to the desired satellite. (see diagram
1).
It is also necessary to ensure that the space in front of the receiver dish is completely free of any obstacle. During the calibration, ensure
you remain well behind the receiver dish.
Do not use the pointer device in proximity to water or in the event of severe humidity (e.g.: during rain)

2 - Use

3- Malfunction :
- The pointer is set up with a factory default setting with utmost sensitivity; and if used with a high gain LNB, you may be unable to reduce
the sensitivity with the button as indicated in point 11. In this case, the cable connecting the LNB and the pointer must be replaced with
one of around 10m in length and the adjustment process from point 7 must be recommenced.

1 – With the satellite receiver unplugged from the mains, connect the LNB (Low Noise Block downconverter, hereinafter LNB) to the input
marked “TO LNB” of the satellite pointer with a cable around 1m in length.
2 - Slowly turn the button (dB) up to the left end stop (counter clockwise direction)
3 – Connect the cable from the satellite receiver to the pointer input marked “TO REC”.
4 – Connect to the mains, then turn on the satellite receiver. The face with the needle should light up.
5 – Select a pre-programmed channel on the satellite receiver. This will help you confirm the direction and the calibration of the receiver
dish in relation to the desired satellite.
6 – Position the receiver dish vertically and direct it approximately SOUTHWARDS.
7 - Slowly turn the button to the right and ensure the needle is between the figures 3 and 5; this corresponds to maximum sensitivity. A
small sound should be heard from the pointer.
8 – Conduct a slow scan (for around twenty seconds) one quarter turn to the left followed by a quarter turn to the right, while continually
observing the needle and (or) listening to the sound of the pointer. The level indicators (needle and sound) should not go above those
just heard.
9 - Incline the receiver dish by directing the upper section forward around two degrees.
(around 2cm on the height of the receiver dish) and restart the same scanning process.
10 – Proceed as described in steps of two degrees until the indicators.
increase: the needle reaches the maximum point to the right and the sound reaches its peak volume.
11 – Reduce the sensitivity by turning the button (dB) very slowly to the left and ensuring the needle returns once again between the figures
of 3 and 5. Work on the calibration by restarting from point 9.
12 - The optimal pointing position is when it is no longer possible to make the indicators increase by pushing the receiver dish delicately
to the right or left as well as up or down.
13 – Check on the TV to ensure that the channel selected in point 5 is being properly received.
14 - Start securing the screws of the receiver dish and verify one last time that the reading value of the pointer has not gone down during
this process.
15 – Complete the securing of the screws.
16 – When the pointing of the receiver dish is complete, it is sometimes useful to refine the polarisation of the LNB head, particularly for
satellites far away from the south position. This adjustment consists of making the head turn toward its support aiming to obtain the best
possible image on the television set. The satellite pointer is not recommended for this kind of adjustment.
17 – Secure the LNB attachment
Nota
