Mounting instructions
1
Lift up the motorcycle so that the front wheel is

frame behind the front fork. Ensure that the mo-
torcycle is properly secured and cannot fall over.
2
Remove the steering damper.
3
Remove the front fender by loosening the four
screws.
4
Release the brake caliper on each side and let
them hang by the brake leads.
5
Remove the wheel axle, by loosening the clamp-
ing screw on the left side and then screw out the
wheel axle. Lift out the front wheel.
6
Release the fasteners of the fork legs in the triple
clamps and loosen the screws on the clip-on
handles. Pull the fork legs out downwards. Re-

NOTE!
Make sure that all bolts are tightened to the cor-
rect torque and that nothing fouls or restricts
movement of the suspension when it´s being fully
compressed or extended. Check with the Work-
shop manual for the motorcycle.
15
Fit the brackets for the brake calipers on the right
and left sides and for the front fender. Fit the
calipers and the fender.
16
Lower the motorcycle so that the front suspen-
sion works. Brake the front wheel and push the
front suspension down two or three times. This
will put the fork legs in a parallel position.
17
Tighten the clamp bolts on the RH fork bottom
to 20 Nm.
18
Continue with adjustments according to the
Owner’s Manual.

thread and fit the Öhlins triple clamp to the origi-
nal column.
9
Use a hot air gun to heat the triple clamp close
to the column attachment and release the clamp
from the column by unscrewing it. It can be nec-
essary to give the clamp a beat with a soft head
hammer.
11
Refit the fork column and the triple clamps to the
motorcycle and attach the screw to the upper

12
Fit the fork legs to the triple clamps. Tighten the
triple clamps and the clip-on handles.
NOTE!
The fork legs are to be mounted so that the fourth
groove is just visible above the top, side edge of
the fork crown. This corresponds to a height of
about 16 mm.
NOTE!
Tighten the screws to a maximum torque of 15
Nm. If screws in the lower fork crown are tight-
ened too hard they can deform the fork tube and
impair the spring action.

13
13
IInsert the sleeve (1687-04) into the LH fork bot-
tom and the thinner flanged sleeve (1607-05) in
the RH fork bottom. Both sleeves shall have the

insert the wheel shaft from the right side. Turn
the speedometer drive so the speedometer ca-
ble not interferes anywhere.
14
Use the wheel nut (1691-01) supplied and tighten
to a torque of 45 – 50 Nm. Tighten the LH fork
bottom clamp bolts to 20 Nm.
