From Propane/LP Gas to Natural Gas
This conversion kit must be installed by a qualified
service agency.
Read these instructions completely before installing this conversion kit.
Before proceeding, make sure gas control valve is in the OFF posi-
tion, all electrical power to the appliance is off and fireplace is cool
to the touch.
CAUTION: The gas supply shall be shut off prior to
disconnecting the electrical power before proceeding
with the conversion.

ACCESSING FIREPLACE
The gas control valve and main burner orifice are located under
firebox floor of appliance and are accessed by removing access plate.

REMOVING GLASS DOOR
The removal of glass door is necessary for this conversion, the en-
tire frame assembly must be removed. Gloves must be worn when
removing glass door.
1. Remove bottom access panel (see figure 1).
2. Unlock 3 door latches on top of firebox using your fingers or the
latch opener provided (see Figure 2).
3. Hook opener over latch as shown in Figure 2. Swing the bottom of
the opener down toward the door. You will not need to pull down.

4. Tilt open glass door 45° from the top of firebox and lift up to
release door from retaining channel (see Figure 3).

BURNER ORIFICE AND PILOT CONVERSION
1. Remove Access Plate (See Figure 1, page 1).
2. Remove screws on top of control access cover (See Figure 4).
3. Remove access cover by gently sliding cover to the right and
out of the fireplace.
4. Locate gas valve and remove LP gas orifice. Apply light amount
of Propane/LP resistant sealant to the threaded end of NG orifice
(#31) supplied with the kit. Thread NG orifice into gas valve and
tighten.
5. Adjust burner venturi air shutter (see Figure 5) to 3/16" open posi-
tion. Burner venturi is located below the burner train assembly.
6. Replace pilot assembly with p/n 125699-01.

GAS CONTROL VALVE CONVERSION
The gas control valve is convertible from propane/LP to natural gas
by a simple rotary knob located on the front face of the valve (see
Figure 6).
1. Turn the cap counter clockwise to remove. Note: the position of
the marker on the shaft of the simple rotary knob. This mark will
point to NAT to LP that indicates the type of gas the valve is set on.
2. To convert the control valve back to the factory setting (NAT),
push in the simple rotary knob and rotate 90°. Note: the marker
will now point to NAT and the shaft will stay OUT.
3. After the conversion has been made, check the outlet pressure
with a manometer. The factory setting on the internal regulator
is 3.5" w.c. for natural and 10.5" w.c. for propane/LP.
4. Replace cover cap.
5. Remove flow control set screw and replace with set screw #00
provide with this kit.
Note: in replacement and conversion use only new parts provided.
When converting to different gas you must also change pilot and
burner orifices.

CONVERSION LABELING AND PLACEMENT
1. Apply conversion label over top of existing certification label
(see Figure 8). Existing certification label is located on lighting
instructions plate inside gas valve compartment area. With
permanent ink, print previous model number on label in space
provided (see Figure 8).
2. After filling data required on conversion information label (see
Figure 9), affix it to floor of appliance where it is easily seen
when bottom access door is removed.

FINAL PREPARATION
1. Leak check gas control and any connections you've
made before operating appliance. Refer to Checking Gas
Connections in owner's manual.
2. Reinstall glass door and close latches.
3. Reinstall bottom access door.
The conversion is now complete.
To operate your fireplace, refer to Operating Fireplace in your appli-
ance owners manual.
WARNING: Test all gas piping and connections,
internal and external to unit, for leaks after installing
or servicing. Correct leaks at once.
WARNING: Never use an open flame to check for
a leak. Apply noncorrosive leak detection fluid to
all joints. Bubbles forming show a leak. Correct all
leaks at once.
WARNING: This conversion kit shall be installed
be a qualified service agency in accordance with the
manufacturer's instructions and all applicable codes
and requirements of the authority having jurisdiction.
If the information in these instruction is not followed
exactly, a fire, explosion or production of carbon mon-
oxide may result causing property damage, personal
injury or loss of life. The qualified service agency
is responsible for the proper installation of this kit.
The installation is not proper and complete until the
operation of the converted appliance is checked as
specified in the manufacturer's instructions supplied
with the kit.
