Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the EDGE™ Hi-Res 7” Digital Picture Frame with MP3 player! This

manual is designed to make your experience with our product both easy and enjoyable.

Your digital picture frame has the ability to display digital photos, videos and play music from

media cards or flash drives. Using pictures from one of the supported device formats, you can

create an image slideshow with multiple transition effects. No computer, digital camera, or

Internet connection is required.

： Accessing the Main Menu

1. Insert a memory card or USB flash drive into its corresponding slot on the digital

frame.

2. Place the digital picture frame on a flat surface. Connect the AC adapter to the

frame and plug it into an available power outlet.

3. Press the Power key - you will be taken to the Main Menu.

If photos begin playing automatically, press the MENU key to return to the Main

Menu above.

4. If you have multiple media devices inserted, press the INFO key to toggle between

devices.

5. Use the directional keys to select the media mode you wish to view and press

ENTER.

： Playing Photo, Video, and Music Files

Viewing Photos

1. From the Main Menu screen, use the direction keys to select the Photo icon and

press ENTER - a list will be displayed of all images saved on your device. Press

the RIGHT key if you would prefer to view the photos in a thumbnail format.

2. Use the directional keys to select the desired photo and press ENTER to display it –

a slideshow will automatically start.

3. Press the INFO key to bring up the command bar. Use the command bar to

play/pause a slideshow or skip to the next/previous photo. You can also choose

how photos are repeated, rotate images, or zoom in and out.

4. Press the ESC key to exit.

Auto-Rotate View

You can change the orientation of a photo to portrait or landscape view depending on how you

position the frame. This is particularly helpful for displaying pictures taken in portrait mode

(vertically displayed) in it’s entirety. This change is automatic - the following are examples:

Listening to Music

1. From the Main Menu screen, use the direction keys to select the Music icon and

press ENTER - a list will be displayed of all music saved on your device.

2. Use the directional keys to select the desired song and press ENTER to play it.

3. Press the UP and DOWN directional keys to adjust the volume.

4. Use the LEFT and RIGHT directional keys to select various controls on the

command bar.

5. Press the ESC key to exit.

Playing a Slideshow with Music

Press the Photo + Music key on the remote control to begin a photo slideshow with

background music (NOTE: You must have at least one music file saved to your device in

order for this function to work properly).

Alternatively, you can select Photo + Music from the Main Menu to start this mode.

Viewing Videos

1. From the Main Menu screen, use the direction keys to select the Video icon and

press ENTER - a list will be displayed of all videos saved on your device.

2. Use the directional keys to select the desired video and press ENTER to watch it.

3. Press the UP and DOWN directional keys to adjust the volume.

4. Press the INFO key to bring up the command bar. Use the command bar to

play/pause a video or skip to the next/previous video. You can also choose to fast

forward, rewind and repeat videos using the command bar.

5. Press the ESC key to exit.

： Connecting with a Computer

Using the supplied USB cable, you can connect the frame to a computer (Windows 2000+ only)

and transfer files to media cards that are inserted into the frame. When connected, the frame

will display ”Card Reader Mode” on the screen.

After connecting, your computer will recognize and install the digital picture frame. Once

completed, you can go to “My Computer” and transfer files to the inserted media card (it will

appear as a “Removable Disk”). Remove the USB cable when finished to return to the Main

Menu of your digital picture frame.

NOTE: USB flash drives and CF cards will not function with this mode.

： Using the Calendar and Auto-Power Feature

Using the Calendar

Your digital picture frame has a Calendar mode complete with date and time. To access it,

select Calendar from the Main Menu and press ENTER. Alternatively, you can press the

Calendar key on the remote control.

To set the date:

1. Go to SETUP from the Main Menu.

2. Select Calendar and press ENTER.

3. Select Date and press ENTER.

4. Use the directional keys to change the date. When finished press ENTER.

To set the time:

1. Go to SETUP from the Main Menu.

2. Select Calendar and press ENTER.

3. Select Time and press ENTER.

4. Use the directional keys to change the time, when finished press ENTER.

NOTE: If you unplug the digital picture frame, the date and time will be reset. By just

powering the frame off, however, the date and time will be retained.

Auto-Power

You can designate specific times of the day for your digital picture frame to power on and off.

To set the Auto-Power On or Auto-Power Off function:

1. Go to SETUP from the Main Menu.

2. Select Calendar and press ENTER.

3. Select Auto-Power On or Auto-Power Off and press ENTER.

4. Press the DOWN key to select the time and press ENTER.

5. Use the directional keys to change the time, when finished press ENTER.

： Setup Menu

Various options can be changed using the digital frame’s Setup Menu. Select SETUP from

the Main Menu to view and/or change your current settings. Use the directional keys to

navigate around the Setup Menu.

When finished with any changes, be sure to confirm the change by pressing the ENTER. If

the ENTER key is not pressed, your settings will not be saved.

Photo

Transition Effect: Sets the effect while changing from one photo to the next during a

slideshow.

Transition Time: Choose the length of time between each photo transition during a

slideshow.

Photo Auto Start: When on, Photo+Music Mode will automatically begin when the frame

powers on..

Music Auto Start: When on, Music Mode will automatically begin when the frame powers on.

Display

Once ENTER is pressed on a setting, use the LEFT and RIGHT directional keys to adjust.

Press the UP and DOWN keys to cycle through the various settings.

Brightness Saturation Hue

Date: Adjusts the date of the system. See Chapter 6 for more information.

Alarm: Sets the time for an alarm to go off. Press ENTER on Alarm and then ENTER on

the time to adjust when the alarm will go off.

Time: Adjusts the time of the system. See Chapter 6 for more information.

Auto-Power On: Designate specific times of the day for your digital picture frame to power

on. See Chapter 6 for more information.

Auto-Power Off: Designate specific times of the day for your digital picture frame to power

off. See Chapter 6 for more information.

Default Setting: Press the ENTER key on “Restore” to return the digital frame’s settings to

the factory default.

Problem Cause and/or Solution

How do I stand the

frame up on a table or

desk?

• The small metal rod included in the box is for standing the

frame up on a flat surface. Screw the stand into the hole on

the back of the frame in the lower-right hand corner of the

frame.

My photos show up

with some of the

image cut off

• Your digital picture frame uses a 16:9 (widescreen) aspect

ratio. Photos not formatted for widescreen are auto-cropped

in order to retain a crisp image that is not stretched. In some

cases, you can use the Auto-Rotate View (see Chapter 4) to

display the photos in full.

I set an On and/or Off

time for Auto Power,

but nothing happens

• Make sure that you have the digital picture frame time set

correctly (SETUP->Calendar->Time).

The Main Menu does

not display when I

turn on the frame

• The Photo Auto Start or the Music Auto Start is turned on.

Go to Setup->Photo->Photo Auto Start or

Setup->Photo->Music Auto Start and ensure these options

are turned off.

I can’t view photos,

play videos, or listen

to music

• Refer to the supported file formats in Chapter 1 and ensure

you are using the correct media file types and devices.

• Check that at least one image, video, or music file exists on

the media device.

• Ensure you have selected the applicable mode from the Main

Menu.

The digital picture

frame will not power

• Ensure that the AC adapter is connected securely to the

frame and is plugged into a power source.

No sound

• The volume is muted.

• The volume is set to the lowest level.

• Ensure the file you are playing with sound is one of the

supported media types in Chapter 1.

Small or distorted

images or videos

• Low video or image resolution. Try playing a file with a

better quality resolution.

Video playback is

choppy and/or skips

• Media card speed may be too slow; try a higher speed card.
