OPERATING MANUAL
Preface This Operating Manual should make it easier to become familiar with the machine and facilitate its
use in accordance with its intended possible applications.
The Operating Manual contains important information on how to operate the machine in a safe,
proper and economical manner. Your observance of it helps to prevent hazards, repair costs and
downtime, and to increase both the reliability and the service life of the machine.
The operating manual is to be supplemented by instructions on the basis of existing national
regulations on accident prevention and environmental protection.
The operating manual must be constantly available at the usage location of the machine.
The operating manual must be read and applied by every person who is commissioned with work on
the machine e.g.:
operation, including set-up, troubleshooting during the work process, elimination of
production waste, care, disposal of operating and auxiliary materials.
maintenance, inspection, repair; and/or
transport

In addition to the Operating Manual and to the mandatory rules and regulations for accident
prevention in the country and place of use, the generally recognised technical rules for safe and
technically proper work are also to be observed.

A LISSMAC floor saw is required in order for the waste water suction unit to be operated.

CHARACTERISTICS & ADVANTAGES
The VACUUM-WET 500 waste water extraction removes cutting slurry from the floor cutting during
the sawing process. The saw blade must thus not machine any additional material.
This means that the machine works more effectively and the service life of the saw blade is
increased.
The waste water suction units are mounted onto the floor saw with a universal C rail and fastened
with locking pins. The system is driven by the hydraulic supply of the floor saw.
With the corresponding accessories, such as blade guard and suction shoe, adapted to the
respective floor saw and blade diameter.

GENERAL SAFETY NOTES
Intended use principle
The manufacturer and supplier do not accept any liability for incorrect or non-intended use. Any
modification to the machine not carried out by the manufacturer is forbidden. Modifications due to
extensions or conversions of the floor saw require the manufacturer’s written consent.
This machine has been built according to the state of the art and recognised safety regulations. Its use
can, nevertheless, result in hazards for life and limb of the user or third persons, as well as damage to
the machine and other material assets.
The machine must only be used if it is in technically perfect condition and for its intended use, with an
awareness of safety and potential dangers and as set out in the Operating Manual. In particular,
always resolve faults which may impair safety, or have them resolved, immediately.
Intended use The LISSMAC VACUUM-WET 500 waste water suction unit must be connected to a LISSMAC floor
saw, and serves exclusively for the extraction of watery, inert mineral and bituminous cutting slurries.
The observance of the Operating Manual and adherence to the Inspection and Maintenance Manual
also form part of the intended use.
Any other use or use beyond this is deemed non-intended.
Non-intended use Foreseeable misuses / non-intended use:
The aspiration of any other liquid
The aspiration of dry materials
(in particular wood and metal dusts or materials harmful to health).
Use in potentially explosive atmospheres.
The attachment to and operation with floor saws not approved by the manufacturer.
Structural modifications which change the safety or the manner of implementation.

Organisational measures
This Operating Manual must be kept within easy reach for everyone at the place of use.
It is to be kept for later consultation or resale of the machine.
In addition to the Operating Manual, the generally applicable legal and other binding regulations for
accident prevention and environmental protection must be observed and instructed.
Such regulations may also deal with, for example, the handling of hazardous substances, the wearing
of personal protective equipment and with road traffic regulations.
The personnel assigned to work on the machine must have read and understood the Operating
Manual, and especially the chapter on Safety instructions, before beginning the work. This
particularly applies to personnel who only work on the machine occasionally, for example set-up and
maintenance personnel.
Regularly check the safety- and hazard-aware work of the personnel in compliance with the Operating
Manual.
Always use the necessary and stipulated personal protective equipment.
Observe all safety and hazard warnings on the floor saw, and maintain them in a legible condition.
Replace damaged safety and hazard warnings and those which are no longer legible.
If there are any changes to the machine or operating behaviour which may affect safety, stop the
machine immediately and put up warning signs accordingly. Report the fault to the responsible
office/person.
Do not make any modifications through extensions or conversions without the manufacturer’s written
consent. The tool manufacturer’s instructions must be adhered to.
Use only checked original spare parts of the manufacturer.
Adhere to prescribed periods for inspection or those specified in the operating manual.
For the implementation of maintenance measures, workshop equipment appropriate for the work is
absolutely necessary.
Machines with combustion engines must not be used in closed rooms.

Choice of personnel and qualification; fundamental obligations
Operators must be aged strictly 18 or above and they must be mentally and physically capable of
operating the machine. All persons must have been instructed in the operation and explicitly
encharged with the operation of the floor saw by the employer in writing.
Establish the responsibilities of the personnel for operation, set-up, service and repair.
Ensure that only authorised personnel works on the machine.
The operator must wear personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, protective gloves,
protective goggle and hearing protection in accordance with the safety regulations.
Tell people not working with the machine to leave the working area. Block access to the work area if
necessary.
Personnel in training, learning, under instruction, or taking part in educational measures are not
permitted to perform any actions on the machine unless constantly supervised by an experienced
operator.
Safety notes regarding the operating phases
Transport, assembly, and installation
Transport, assembly and installation on the floor saw must only take place in transport position. The
floor saw must be secured against rolling away at all times.
The coarse filter must be emptied before transport.
Loading and unloading of the floor saw should only be carried out taking into account the operating
weight, preferably with a crane.
Transport may only take place if all parts at the machine are tightened and the dropping of individual
parts is impossible.

Commissioning
Commission must only take place together with a LISSMAC floor saw.
All obstacles must be removed from the working area.
Carry out a visual check for damage and defects before commissioning.
If dark, ensure good lighting of the workspace.
The suction hose must be connected tightly to the blade guard, without any kinks and without any
chafe marks.
Ensure cleanliness when connecting the hydraulic plug-in coupling with the floor saw.
Operation
Refrain from all methods of working which could pose a risk to safety.
Take measures to ensure that the machine is only operated in a safe and functional state.
Check the machine for visible damage and faults at least once per shift! Report any changes that have
occurred (including the operating behaviour) to the responsible office/person immediately! If
necessary, shut the machine down and secure it against being switched on again.
If the machine malfunctions, shut it down immediately and secure it. Resolve faults, or have them
resolved, immediately. Electrical work must only be carried out by qualified electricians.
Only use suitable and tested tools.
Never look into the air outlet when the machine is running. Particles may be expelled from it.
Only operate the machine when all the protective covers are properly fitted.
Check the collecting tank regularly. Stones can block the course filter.

Special work while using the machine
Comply with the set-up, maintenance and inspection activities and intervals stipulated in this Operating
Manual, including information on the exchange of parts/furnishings. These activities must only be
carried out by authorised professionals.
If the machine is switched off for maintenance and repair work, it must be secured against unexpected
reactivation, and signs must be put in place to warn about this.
For safety and/or functional reasons, all openings must be covered and sealed before cleaning so that
no cleaning products can enter through them. Electric motors, switches and plug connectors are
particularly at risk. Remove the covers/adhesive tape completely after finishing the cleaning work.
Always fasten screw connections securely after maintenance and repair work.
If safety devices must be dismounted for preparation, repair or maintenance of the machine, they must
be mounted and inspected immediately after the duties have been terminated.

Note about particular risks
Dangers for the operator from the machine
The turbine outlet opening must always point away from the operator.
Do not look at or take hold of the outlet opening when the machine is running.
Hydraulics
The machine’s hydraulic equipment must be inspected/examined regularly.
Faults such as damaged hoses or couplings must be remedied immediately with original replacement
parts.
Dust/slurry
Cutting slurry can damage the skin and eyes upon contact.
Avoid contact with it and wear protective equipment.
Do not eat, drink or smoke in the work area.

See Section 3.3
Transport
Lifting tackle with sufficient carrying capacity must be used when moving with a crane. Examine the
lifting tackle for damage before it is used.
Appoint an expert instructor for the hoisting work.
Only use a suitable transport vehicle with an adequate load capacity.
Secure the load reliably in accordance with the regulations. Use suitable attachment points.

Packing and Storage
In order to ensure sufficient protection during dispatch and transport, the machine and its components
were packed carefully. The machine should be checked for damage upon receipt. The packing of the
device consists of recyclable materials. Separate these materials into the different collection
containers provided for this purpose so that the recycling of them can be carried out.
The machine may not be operated in case of damage. Damaged cables and plug connectors also pose
a safety risk and must not be used. In this case notify the manufacturer immediately.
If the machine is not operated immediately after unpacking, it must be protected from moisture and
dirt.
Environmental protection
Packaging material, cleaning products, used or left-over operating materials and unpacked ware parts
such as drive belts and motor oils must be taken for recycling in accordance with the environmental
protection regulations relevant to the operation site.
Disposal
Render the worn out devices unusable once the period of use has expired, and especially when there
are malfunctions.
Dispose of the machine according to the environmental regulations valid in your country.
Take the machine to a central collection point.

Sound power level
WARNING
Danger of hearing damage
Wearing hearing protection is mandatory for sound power levels above 85 dB (A).
Wear you personal hearing protection.
The detail defines the volume of the noise relative to the operator's workplace and to the sound power
level of the floor saw.

The guaranteed sound power level is:

The values have been determined by sound emission measurement.
The test was carried out on the largest approved saw blade of the floor saw under load.

The emission sound powers were carried out in conformity with Regulations
EN ISO 3744, EN 13862 and Directive 2000/14/EC.
Hand-arm vibration

Vibration can lead to bone and joint damage, as well as to circulation problems.
Take regular breaks when working with the machine.
The value given was determined with the maximum saw blade diameter.
The impact may be inversely proportional to the weight of the operator.

The values given were measured while cutting concrete at a cut depth of 5 cm. This value is influenced in
practice by the following conditions:

TRANSPORT
Transport position
WARNING
Crushing due to falling machine/equipment
Injuries due to toppling of the machine or falling parts.
Only ever transport the machine in transport position.
Secure the machine at the attachment points.
Only set the machine down on level, pressure-resistant surfaces which are capable of carrying the load.
Check that the spring lock bolt is correctly locked before setting the machine down.
Level the feet so that the machine is even before setting it down.
NOTE
Machine transport
Only transport standing upright. Only set the machine down on level surfaces which are capable of carrying
the load.
All movable parts which could fall or swing during transport must be removed.
In general, we recommend that the machine be transported assembled onto the floor saw.
Transport position Adjust the feet so that they are level and secure with the spring lock bolts!
Secure the hoses onto the machine.
Empty the coarse screen.
Secure or remove loose parts.
