14 Auto Focus Lens Zoom & Focus Adjustment
The auto focus lens greatly reduces installation time allowing for remote zoom
and one-touch focus control for sharp images. From a remote computer fine
lens adjustments can be made eliminating the need for manual zoom and focus
adjustments at the camera. Zoom sets the field-of-view, and focus sets the
focal point of the scene.
1. When using an Alliance-pro camera with auto focus lens, browse to the
camera’s home page and go to the Setup > Zoom / Lens tab shown in
Figure 14.1.
2. The field-of-view of the image can be set by using the zoom controls under the
preview video window. The lens is set to the widest field-of-view by default, and
is automatically focused. The zoom controls are as follows:
Sets the lens to the full wide field-of-view.
Moves the zoom position toward the wide field-of-view.
Moves the zoom position toward the telephoto field-of-view.
Sets the lens to the full telephoto field-of-view.
3. The lens can be configured to focus automatically or manually. By default, the
camera is in the Auto focus control mode.
a. Auto: After changing the zoom setting on the lens, the lens will focus on
the center of the image after pressing the One-Touch focus button.
b. Manual Focus Mode: Turns off the auto focus mode, and allows the user to
remotely focus the lens using the fine focus adjustments:
