For example, if the gas alarm is required at 50% LEL on a 0-100%
LEL detector thenadjust the settingso that theDVM reads 120 mV,
equivalentto12mAinthedetectorloop.
3 Writethegastype,gasrangeandalarmlevelvalueonthestickylabel
providedon the CONTROL PCB. Werecommendthatboththealarm
levels and the mV setting is recorded.
3.2 Alarm configuration
When you havecompleted the alarmlevel settings thenext stageis to
congure the alarm settings using the links providedon the CONTROL
PCB,thistablecanbefoundprintedontheCONTROLPCB.
3.2.1 Alarm 1 and Alarm 2 configuration
ARISINGalarmissuitableformostdetectorsasa‘rise’ingaslevelisthe
most commonly monitored action. AFALLING alarm istypically used to
monitoroxygenlevelsasafallintheoxygenlevelismostcritical.LINKS15
and17settheGasagcongurationforALARM1and2.Thelinksshould
besettoAforFALLINGorBforRISING.
TheGasag alarms canbe conguredto operate asLATCHED or NON-
LATCHED.Whenanalarmlevelisexceededandhasbeenconguredas
LATCHED,thealarmrelaywillswitchstateandremaininthatstateuntil
thecontrolpanelisresetevenifthegaslevelfallstonormalvalues.ANON-
LATCHEDalarmrelaywillswitchstatewhenthealarmlevelisexceededbut
willreturntonormalifthegaslevelreturnstonormal.LINKS16and18set
theGasagcongurationforALARM1and2,thelinksshouldbesettoA
forNON-LATCHINGorBforLATCHING.
3.2.2 Alarm and fault relay settings
The fault relay will change state if the current level in the detector loop
dropsbelow3mAorrisesabove23.5mA.Therelayscanbecongured
to work as NORMAL (de-energised) or FAILSAFE (energised). Typical
congurationistosetALARM1and2asNORMAL(LINKS12and13toA)
andFAULTasFAILSAFE(LINK14toB).
