Toyota SOLARA, the Glass Breakage Sensor (GBS), provides enhanced protection for your vehicle beyond the Theft Deterrent System (TDS). It detects the sound of tapping or breaking glass and triggers alarms accordingly. The GBS listens for specific noises associated with glass breakage and responds with a series of alarms, including a warn-away alarm and a regular alarm. It also has an alarm check procedure to ensure proper functionality. Arming and disarming the theft deterrent system controls the GBS.

The G.B.S. (GLASS BREAKAGE SENSOR) provides protection for your vehicle above and beyond the entry

point monitoring performed by the TDS (Theft Deterrent System)—it “listens” for the noise made by tapping on,

or breaking of glass, and triggers alarms upon detection of these types of noise. Using a microphone designed

1. Arm the theft deterrent system.

Press the lock button on the remote control or

4. Disarm the theft deterrent system to stop the WARN

AWAY ALARM. Press the unlock button on the

remote control, or use the key to unlock a door, to

disarm the system.
