[SD (Secure DigitaOmemorycard]

The SD/SDHC memory card has a write

protect switch thatprevents imagefiles

from being deleted orformatted. By sliding

the switch tothe bottom ofthe SD memory

card, the data witl be protected. Bysliding

the switch tothe top of the SD memory

card, the data protectionwill be cancelled.

4. Press thepower button to turnon thecamera.

Avoice recordingcan be recordedfor as long asthe

memory capacity allows.(Max. 1hour)

1.Inany mode with the exception ofMovie clipmode,

select the VOICE RECORDING mode by pressing

the Voicerecordingbutton twice.

2. Press theshutter button to recorda voice.

- Pressthe shutter button onceand voice is

recorded foras long asthe available recording

time allows.The recordingtime wilt be displayed

on the LCD monitor.Voice willstill be recorded if

the shutterbutton is released.

- Ifyou wishto stop recording,press the shutter

button again.

- Fitetype : *.way

* A distanceof 40cm between you and the camera

(microphone) isthe best distanceto record

sound.

• Shooting againstthe light:

Please do not take picturesto the sunlight direction.Taking a pictureagainstthe

sun may make the picturedark. To take a pictureagainstthe sun, please use the

[Backlight] in the sceneshooting mode (see page 17),fill-inflash (see page23),

spot metering (see page35) or exposure compensation (see page31).

• Avoid obstructingthe lensor the flash when you capturean image.

• Compose the image by usingthe LCDmonitor.

• Under certainconditionsthe auto focus system maynot perform as expected.

- When photographing a subjectthathas little contrast.

- If the subjectis highly reflectiveor shiny.

- tf the subjectis movingat high speed.

- When there is strong reflectedlight, orwhen the background is very bright.

- When the subjectmatter has onlyhorizontallines orthe subjectisvery narrow

(such as a stickor flagpole).

- When the surroundings are dark.

•Therecordingmodefunctioncanbesetupbyusingthecamerabuttons. • Ifthe menu is notdisplayed,this button works

asthe OPTICAL ZOOM or DIGITAL ZOOM

button.

• Usedfor turningthe camera's poweron/ off.

• Ifthere is no operation duringthe specified time,

the camera's power willbe turned off

automaticallyto save battery life.

• Usedfortaking an image or recordingvoicein

the RECORDING mode.

• InMOVIE CLIP mode :

Pressingthe shutterbutton downfully starts the

processforrecording a movieclip. Pressthe

shutterbutton once andthe movieclip is

recordedfor as longas the available recording

time inthe memory allows. If you wishto stop recording,press the shutter button

again.

• tnSTILL IMAGE mode

Pressingthe shutter button down halfway activatesthe autofocusand checks

the conditionofthe flash. Pressingthe shutter button downfully takes and steres

the image. Ifyou select voicememo recording,the recordingwill start afterthe

camerahas finished storingthe imagedata.

• This camera has a 3X opticalzoom anda 5X digital zoom function.

Usingbeth will offera total zoom ratio of 15X.

• TELEZoom

Optical zoom TELE :Pressing theZOOM T button.This wiltzoom intothe

subject i.e.the subjectwill appear nearer.

Digital zoom TELE :When the maximum (3X) opticalzoom is selected

pressing the ZOOMT button activates thedigital zoom

so_'_are. ReleasingZOOM T button stopsthe digital

zooming at the requiredsetting.Once the maximum

digital zoom (5X) is achieved, pressingthe ZOOM T

button will have no effect.
