Safety instructions
The safety of this appliance is in accordance with rec-
ognised technical regulations and statutory law on
appliance safety as well as international safety regula-
tions and quality standards. The safety measures
which are in place as a matter of course do not cover
all possible accident risks.
As manufacturers, however, we also feel obliged to
familiarize you with the following safety instructions.
Electrical connection
This new appliance may only be installed and
connected to the electricity supply by an
approved electrician. Please observe this
point since failure to do so will result in any
warranty claims in the event of damage or
faults being inapplicable.
For purposes of safety, electric built-in appli-
ances must be installed in suitable standard-
ized built-in cabinets.
Damaged appliances must not be put into use.
In the event of a fault or malfunction please
switch off the safety fuse or screw it out.
Repairs to appliances must be carried out by
qualified technicians. Repairs carried out
improperly may result in serious risk. Should
you need any repair work done, please contact
our customer service or your local stockist.
Child safety
The appliance becomes hot when you cook and
bake. For this reason small children must
always be kept away from the oven.
Safety during operation
This appliance may only be used in households
and may only be used for its intended purpose,
i.e. for the preparation of food in households.
The oven must be heated up before you use it
for the first time. Please ensure that the room is
well-ventilated.
Take care when connecting electrical appli-
ances to sockets located near the appliance.
Connection leads may not come into contact
with hot parts or become caught in the frame of
the oven by the oven door.
Heating elements for top heat and for grilling at
the top of the oven and a hot oven itself may
cause burns if the appliance is not handled with
care.
It is essential that pan holders, oven cloths or
oven gloves be used when hot food is being
taken out of the oven.
Besides the accessories supplied, please use
only suitable, heat-resistant baking and roast-
ing tins. Please follow the manufacturer's
instructions carefully.
Use only the original roasting thermometer! On
being used it must be placed more than 5 cm
away from the grill and upper heat devices.
Make sure that you do not catch the cable of
the roasting thermometer in the door of the
oven. Take it out of the oven when it is not in
use.
Safety when cleaning
No heating elements may be switched on while
the oven is being cleaned manually. Make sure
that the oven has cooled down sufficiently for
you to be able to touch the inside parts without
a risk of burning.
Always keep your oven clean. Grease spats
and stains will cause an unpleasant smell when
the oven is heating up.
Please ensure that seals on the door and in the
door frame are kept clean.
For purposes of electrical safety, steam clean-
ers and high pressure cleaning appliances may
not be used for cleaning the oven.
Avoid damage to the appliance as
follows
Never use the appliance to heat a room!
Do not line the oven bottom with aluminium foil!
Pots, roasting tins, baking trays and the univer-
sal pan may not be placed on the floor of the
oven. Heat will build up and may result in dam-
age to the material.
Fruit juice in cake toppings may leave dull
marks on the enamel. When making fruit flans
or similar bakes, please use the universal pan.
The oven door must not be subjected to exces-
sively heavy loads when it is open.
Please ensure that the oven is switched off after
you have used it.

Turn the control knob to
Light
.
Before heating up your oven for the first time, remove
any adhesive labels and protective foil from the control
panel and the oven door.
Remove the accessories and the grids from the oven
and rinse them. Clean the oven interior, the door and

Automatic turn-on and shut-off
If you wish use the ovens time-delay feature, you may
pre-select both cooking time and finish time. The
automatic start time itself cannot be specified, but this
is derived from both settings.
It is impossible to set a finish time before the
start time: you will hear a buzzer and the value
in the display will not change. If you wish to
shorten the cooking time you have set, do this
first before you reset the finish time.
Example:
It is 8:00 and you would like to take a roast, which has
to cook for 90 minutes, out of the oven at 1pm.
Change the cooking time T from 0.00 to 1.30. Then
change the finish time U from 9.30 to 13.00.
Once the times have been accepted, Auto will
appear in the display and the oven will switch on at
11.30 and off at 13.00.
This is how to set the automatic switch-on
and switch-off:
Press T : the lamp will flash and 0.00 will
appear in the display.
Use +/- to set the cooking time in hours and
minutes (for example: 90 minutes).
Press U to confirm the input and select the
finish time. The display will show a time (finish
time if the oven is to switch on right away).

The roasting thermometer
The roasting thermometer measures the temperature
inside the food. When the core temperature has
reached a certain value, the roast is done just right:
not too dry and not too bloody, roasted just right (see
the chart on page 27.
Once the preset core temperature is reached, the
oven automatically switches off. The roast is done.
Since the cooking time in this case is only regulated
by the core temperature in the centre of the roast, it is
not possible to pre-select how long the roast is to be
cooked nor when it is to be ready.
We highly recommend using the roasting ther-
mometer when preparing roasts whose core
temperature must not exceed a certain value
(e.g. roast beef).
Please observe the following:
Insert the tip of the roasting thermometer hori-
zontally from the side right into the centre of the
food.
Always insert the roasting thermometer into the
roast up to the handle.
The tip must not be located near the fat or the
bone of the meat. When cooking poultry, insert
the tip in the chest.
When cooking poultry, take care not to touch
any bones when inserting the roasting ther-
mometer.
Using the roasting thermometer
Place the prepared roast with the roasting ther-
mometer inserted in the oven.
Insert the plug of the roasting thermometer into
the jack at the top right of the oven side wall.
Close the oven door and
select a oven function with the oven selector.
Set the desired temperature with the tempera-
ture control.
Use the timer to select the roasting thermome-
ter function and to set the required core temper-
ature (see Setting the roasting thermometer
function on page 18).

ning of cooking time.
