Before First Use
Check that all the accessories are complete and the unit is in perfect conditions. Add some water into
water tank up to the max level and brew water for several times without coffee powder. Once this is
finalised, empty the remaining water and clean all the detachable parts thoroughly with warm water.
Using your Coffee Maker
1. Open the top lid and fill the water tank with drinking water. The water level should not exceed the
MAX level marked inside the tank.
2. Place the funnel in the water tank and make sure it is assembled correctly. Then place the filter
correctly.
3. Add coffee powder into the filter. Usually for a cup of coffee – one spoon of ground coffee is fine;
however, this may vary as to your personal taste. Once the coffee is placed in the vessel, close the
top lid properly.
4. Insert the jug horizontally into the coffee maker.
5. Plug the power cord into the outlet.
6. Press the ON button. The indicator light will turn red and the appliance will start to work.
7. The brewing process can be interrupted by pressing the OFF button at any time.
Note: You can remove the jug, pour and serve at any time. The appliance will stop dripping
automatically. However, the time cannot exceed 30 seconds.
8. Remove the jug to serve when the process is over (However, it is recommended to wait about one
minute after the coffee stops dripping out.)
Note: The total amount of coffee that comes out will be less than the water you have added initially,
as some of the water is absorbed by the coffee.
9. When the process is finished, you may opt to serve the coffee later as the jug remains warm while it
is placed over the warm plate. The jug will be kept warm automatically all the time if it has not been
manually disconnected at the completion of brewing. For an optimum coffee taste, serve it just after
brewing.
Note: The thermos jug remains hot for approximately 10 hours thanks to its double wall.
10. Always turn OFF the coffee maker and disconnect the power supply when not use.
Hints for Great-Tasting Coffee
1. Always use fresh and cold water.
2. For stronger or milder coffee, increase or decrease the amount of coffee grounds to suit your taste.
3. Finer coffee grounds, such as Drip and Automatic Drip Coffeemaker (ADC) coffee grounds, promote
a full extraction of flavor and a rich, full-bodied coffee.
4. Store unused coffee grounds in a cool, dry place. After opening a package of coffee grounds, tightly
reseal it and store it in the refrigerator to maintain freshness.
5. For optimum coffee taste, buy whole coffee beans and finely grind them just before brewing.
6. Do not reuse coffee grounds; this greatly reduces the coffee's flavor.
7. Reheating coffee is not recommended as coffee is at its peak flavor immediately after brewing.
8. A clean Coffeemaker is essential for making great-tasting coffee. Clean regularly as specified in the
"Care and Maintenance" section.
9. Prevent an oily build-up: A small amount of oil on the surface of brewed coffee is due to the release
of oil from roasted coffee beans. Heavily-roasted coffee beans release more oil than others.
Regularly cleaning your Coffeemaker will prevent an oily build-up.
Care and Maintenance
WARNING:
Always unplug the Power Cord from the electrical outlet and allow the product to cool
completely before cleaning or storing.
Cleaning:
The Filter Basket may be placed on the upper rack of a dishwasher for cleaning or hand washed
in warm, soapy water. The Reusable Mesh Filter must be washed by hand.
NOTE: When washed in a dishwasher, the parts may appear to fade. Restore this by carefully
polishing them with a soft, dry cloth.
Wipe the exterior surface of the Coffeemaker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use metal scouring
pads or abrasive cleaners.
Removing Mineral Deposits:
To keep your Coffeemaker operating efficiently, remove mineral deposits left by water. At least once
a month, use a water and vinegar household cleaning solution as described below to prevent the
build up of mineral deposits. If the water in your area is especially high in minerals, do this every two
weeks.
1. Fill the jug with one part of white vinegar and three parts of cold water.
2. Pour the water and vinegar mixture into the Water Reservoir.
3. Place the jug (Lid off) onto the Base.
4. Press the Start Button; the Indicator Light will illuminate. NOTE: During cleaning, more steam
occurs than when brewing coffee.
5. When the water-vinegar solution stops dripping into the jug, allow the Coffeemaker to cool for
three minutes. Remove, rinse, and replace the Mesh Filter and pour the water-vinegar mixture
into the Water Reservoir again.
6. Press the Start Button. Allow all of the cleaning solution to drip into the jug.
7. Discard the cleaning solution from the jug.
8. Allow the Coffeemaker to cool for three minutes, then remove, rinse, and replace the Filter
Basket.
9. Rinse the Coffeemaker by brewing a Glass of cold water.
10. Allow the Coffeemaker to completely cool and clean it by washing the jug, the Filter Basket, and
the Reusable Mesh Filter in soapy water; rinse and let dry.
