Nitrogen Accessory

The Nitrogen accessory for EDGE systems allows nitrogen gas to be connected and regulated into the EDGE

to replace ambient air during the extraction, purge and agitation. This accessory can be purchased with an

EDGE or added onto any existing EDGE. For a preexisting EDGE, an outside cover with a nitrogen fitting must

be present as shown in the image below. If this fitting is not present, please contact your local sales

representative, and this fitting can be installed on your current EDGE as well as the Nitrogen accessory.

The Nitrogen accessory will include:

• Nitrogen accessory

• 18” tubing to connect Nitrogen accessory to EDGE

Items not included:

• 0.25” OD polypropylene tubing to connect accessory to gas source

Installation

1. The EDGE should be unplugged without a solvent or waste bottle attached.

2. Place the EDGE so you can access the nitrogen fitting on the clear cover.

3. Connect the assembly to the EDGE using the supplied 0.25” tubing by pressing it into the push-to-

connect fitting as shown in the image below. Ensure the tubing is pushed in fully by pulling on the

tubing once installed. If it does not move, it is locked in place.

4. Connect the other side of the tubing to the Nitrogen accessory.

5. Connect the Nitrogen accessory to the nitrogen source using polypropylene tubing with an OD of 0.25”.

Note: 0.25” polypropylene tubing is required to connect the nitrogen accessory to the nitrogen

source.

6. Turn the gas on when ready to run samples.

Note: The gas must be turned on in order for the EDGE to function.

7. Run your EDGE as normal, and turn the gas off at the source to prevent gas from escaping when

EDGE is idle.

Caution

A regulator that restricts the pressure/flow to no more than 100 psi entering the box is required. Anything

above this flow will cause damage to the EDGE and Nitrogen accessory.
