This system features automatic firmware
upgrades for enhanced functionality. It is
required to upgrade your system to the latest
firmware version.
If a firmware upgrade is available:
1. After startup, a notification will appear
asking you to upgrade the firmware. Click OK to
upgrade.
2. The system will download and install the
firmware upgrade. Wait for the firmware update
to complete. The system may restart during the
firmware upgrade process.
DO NOT power off or disconnect the power
cable during firmware installation.

**Cameras are included only with bundled systems. Stand-alone systems do not include cameras.

Setting the Date and Time

• Press the ENTER button on the front panel.
• Right-click to open the Quick Menu and click Info. If prompted, enter the system user name
(default: admin) and your new, secure password.

Enabling Additional IP Channels
1. From live view, right-click and then click Playback.
2. Log in using the system user name (default: admin) and your new, secure password.
3. Use the calendar on the right to select the date to playback.
4. Use the drop-down menus to select the channels you would like to playback. Click the display
options (
) to playback multiple channels simultaneously.
5. Click inside the video bar to select the playback time. Playback starts immediately at the
selected time.
In addition to the analog channels available on the
M6100 DVR, the 8-channel and 16-channel models
can accommodate additional IP camera channels.
See table for available channels for each DVR model.
*IP cameras can also replace SD / HD analog channels.
Prior to adding an IP camera, you must change the Cable Type to IP for at least one channel OR enable the
additional IP camera channels (see Enabling Additional IP Channels).

Quick Connection Guide
When using your system for the first time, you will be
prompted to create a new 6 character password.
1. Connect your system according to the instructions
on the front of this guide.
2. When the DVR turns on, create and confirm your
new, secure password. This password will be used to
connect to your system from now on.
Creating a New Password
Record your password below and
store in a secure place:
1. Connect the camera to a router or switch on the same network as the DVR.
2. Right-click and select Remote Device. Log in using
the system user name (default: admin) and your new,
secure password.
3. Click Device Search.
6. Right-click to return to live view.
4. Check the camera(s) you would like to add.
5. Click Add. The Status indicator turns green to show
the camera is successfully connected.
NOTE: If the Status indicator is red, click .
Update the camera user name, password,
ports, and manufacturer as needed.

During split-screen display mode: Click an individual channel to view it in
full-screen. Click again to return to the split-screen display mode.
While navigating menus: Click to open a menu option.

3. SCROLL WHEEL:
During live view: Use the scroll wheel to zoom in / out.

NOTE: In live view, hover the mouse cursor over the bottom of the screen to
open the Navigation Bar. Move the mouse cursor away from the bottom of the
screen to close the Navigation Bar.
* IP cameras only. To access these menu options, Cable Type must be set to IP for at least one
channel. See Adding Cameras from the LAN.
ATTENTION:
The M6100 Series Multiformat DVR is compatible with HD CVI / TVI / AHD, SD analog, and FLIR Visible
IP cameras. The maximum compatible camera resolution is 8MP. For more information about camera
compatibility, visit flir.com/security/pro.
