manual
SEL SP-55 vibroacoustic noise system with built-in equalizer is the tech-
nical protection device from information leakage in rooms by vibroacoustic chan-
nel.
The system is intended to protect any speech information (confidential,
private, commerce or government information).
ATTENTION! Please install and use the system according the following
conditions:
- indoor use only;
- the temperature should be +25 (± 10) °С;
- the relative air humidity shouldn’t be more than 80% at 25 °С;
- the atmospheric pressure 740 (± 40) mm Hg;
- single-phase electrical net 220 V (± 10%) / 50÷60 Hz.
Also, the system is not designed to be used in conditions with high con-
centration of dust and sparks, in explosive or an excited environment, at intensive
mechanical influences.
Specially trained operating staff is not required for work with this system.
When buying the system, do check its capacity for work and complete-
ness of the full set. Before enabling the system, please read this operation man-
ual carefully.
I. Description of the system
The system is an active protection device from information leakage in
rooms by vibroacoustic channel with built-in equalizer, using which you can set
the noise level (the integrated output power) suitable for your conditions and its
spectrum in octave strips on each channel.
The system might contain:
- digital vibroacoustic noise generator SEL SP – 55/2 (2 channels),
SEL SP – 55/4 (4 channels);
- electromagnetic vibro-transducers SEL SP – 55/V (universal), SEL
SP – 55/VG (for windows);
- acoustic radiators – passive acoustic speakers (8 Ohm).
Each generator SEL SP – 55/2 or SEL SP – 55/4 has:
microprocessor and RAM, LCD display, sound and visual in-
dication;
each channel has equal and independent structure:
- noise former (generator);
- 5-band equalizer (in octave strips);
- class “D” target amplifier, which is providing high reli-
ability and stability of parameters;
- short circuit and overload protection.

To install radiators on heating pipes use authorized holders.
2.2. Installing SEL SP – 55/VG vibro-transducers
Glue vibro-transducers SEL SP – 55 /VG using strong waterproof glue,
according its description.
2.3. Installing acoustic radiators
Acoustic radiators should be installed in protected areas (air lines, ventilating
mines, behind false ceilings, etc.).
For minimization of acoustic discomfort the direction of acoustic radiators should
be to places of the most probability of installing pick-up devices.
III. Connecting vibro-transducers and acoustic radiators
The scheme of connection of vibro-transducers or acoustic radiators to one
channel:
А” “B”
А – full power output on each radiator (1 – 3 radiators).
“B” – half power output on each radiator (4 – 12 radiators).
It is not allowed to connect vibro-transducers and acoustic radiators to one channel!
Attention! All channels should be disconnecting galvanic with each other.
The system can be turned in two modes:
- WORKING – acoustic and vibroacoustic noise generation
mode;
- SETUP – noise tuning and the system settings mode.
The default settings:
1. Noise is disabled – in all channels;
2. Management of the system – turning on/off the noise
generation:
- ON – from the front panel;
- OFF – from the RC.
1.1. Functional characteristics
The system provides:
Active protection by wide range acoustic and vibroacoustic
noise for the informational objects from:
- microwave systems, including laser microphones,
used for interception of audio information through
glass of windows;
- stethoscope /contact microphones, used for intercep-
tion of audio information through solid structures
(walls, ceilings, floors, window openings and glass),
gas and water piping;
- wireless and cable-microphones and devices of
magnetic recording, installed in wall cavities, above
false ceilings, ventilation channels, etc.
Optimal parameters of acoustic and vibroacoustic noise for
any channel by setting them up by octave strips, using the
microprocessor and 5-band equalizer;
Preservation in RAM all acoustic and vibroacoustic noise pre-
set parameters for each channel;
Automatic self-diagnostics system, which will inform the op-
erator about all errors with sound and light alarm;
Opportunity of management by the voice activation system
(VOX system) or wire RC.

Recommendations to installing SEL SP - 55 systems
I. Placing electromagnetic vibro-transducers and acoustic radia-
tors
Recommendations:
Vibro-transducers SEL SP – 55/V should be installed:
- in regular intervals - in chessboard order, not more than 3 m from
each other and not closer than 1 m from corners of sides of protected
volumes, connection of the next radiators to different channels is de-
sirable;
- for the best protected effect use minimum two vibro-transducers on
each any size protected surface.
Vibro-transducers SEL SP – 55/VG should be installed at each window corner
on removal ~ 5 ÷ 10 cm from it.
Acoustic radiators should be installed in protected areas (air lines, ventilating
mines, behind false ceilings, etc.).
II. Installing electromagnetic vibro-transducers and acoustic ra-
diators
2.1. Installing SEL SP – 55/V vibro-transducers
There are three types of mounting elements: a pin, a plate and a holder
for mounting on heating pipes:
To install pins it is necessary to drill a hole in a protected construction, fill it
with a solidificated caulk and densely hammer in a pin.
To install plates is necessary to drill holes in a protected construction for
adjusting screws, drift on waterproof glue, mount a plate and fix it “tightly” using
adjusting screws.

namic damage and environmental attack. Then the generator must be fasten us-
ing foam-rubber, foam plastic etc.
7.3. Precautions
Do not drop the generator when loading or unloading.
VIII. Warranty

Maintenance works consist in external examination of the system’s state
and its components. As well as checking:
- on the device: fastening of cables’ connector, travel evenness and fixa-
tion accuracy of controls;
- on power cords: state of connectors.
If repair of the fault by improvised means is not possible, please apply to
the producer. Please note that the warranty does not apply if the system or its
parts have been unsealed or dismantled.
5.1.5. Preservation
Conservation includes the following operations (one after another):
- maintenance works;
- drying during 4 hours at room temperature;
- packing into any rigid container that exclude damage of the system;
