are not qualified to properly install this kit, contact you local distributor
or dealer.
Read this addendum in its entirety before beginning the installation.

APPLIANCE APPLY TO THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
Figure 1 - Minimum Vent Configuration
A minimum vent configuration is defined by the example below with no
other vent component sections used than what is shown here.
WHEN ALTAIR AND DRT40/4045 FIREPLACES ARE INSTALLED
USING MINIMUM VENT COMPONENTS IN A REAR VENT CON-
FIGURATION (AS DEFINED IN FIGURE 1), AN AFUE BAFFLE MUST
BE INSTALLED PER THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THIS DOCUMENT.

Minimum Vent Configuration *
* Dimension from the base of the horizontal termination to the fireplace 1/2”
rear spacers is ~7" to 7-1/2” (assumes a 6” thick wall with interior and exterior
wall surface material). The AFUE baffle is not required if this dimension is over
7-1/2".

Step 2. Remove Cover Plate
Loosen the two screws in the keyhole slots of the
cover plate and remove the remaining two cover
plate securing screws. Remove and discard the
cover plate. (see Figure 2). Retain screws for
installation of the AFUE Baffle on Step 3.
Step 3. Install AFUE Baffle
Install the AFUE Baffle in place of the cover plate
using the screws that were removed from the
cover plate. See Figures 2 and 3.
Step 4. Reinstall Rear Lintel Baffle
Reinstall rear lintel baffle as shown in Figure 2.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1. Remove Rear Lintel Baffle
From inside the firebox, remove the two screws
securing the rear lintel baffle to the rear wall of
the firebox, then remove the rear lintel baffle
(see Figure 2). Retain rear lintel baffle for
reinstallation on Step 4.
