Hobart Information Tracker™
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
Introduction The Hobart Information Tracker (H.I.T.) records various
pricing and inventory data in a supermarket environment
and aides in reducing shrink (spoilage, markdowns, etc.) by
capturing and storing information that can be transferred to
a server computer.
When you have Hobart’s Data GateWeigh communications
software running in the server computer, the data
transferred from H.I.T. is stored in a CSV (comma separated
value or comma delimited) file that can be manipulated by
most mainstream database and spreadsheet applications.
In order to use H.I.T. to capture this data you must have a
handheld scanner; you also need a printer for markdowns.
For a list of the currently supported scanners and printers
contact your Hobart representative. For information on the
printer and scanner, refer to the appropriate manufacturer’s
manual.
You can perform the following functions on the system:
Set up user logon and operating parameters.
Capture and store data.
Price markdown data by UPC
Product discard (shrink) data by UPC
Promotional data by UPC
Inventory data by UPC
Conversion or product transfer data by UPC
Transfer data to a server computer (upload). This can be
performed via a serial cable or through a TCP/IP
wireless network.
View and modify data in spreadsheet format (CSV) once
it is transferred from the scanner.
