This SWAN appliance carries a 2 year guarantee against mechanical and electrical failure.
Please note: This guarantee does not apply where the product has been damaged, either
deliberately or by accident, misused, altered or tampered with by any unauthorised person.
This appliance is for domestic use only.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using your hot tray, basic safety precautions should always be followed:
Read all the instructions carefully, and keep them in a safe place.
Supervise children closely when they are near the hot tray, or are trying to use it.
Before connecting the hot tray, check that the voltage indicated on the rating plate on the
appliance, corresponds with the mains voltage in your home. If this is not the case, contact
your dealer, and do not plug the unit in.
Switch the unit off and unplug it from the plug socket before cleaning it, or when it is not in
use.
The maximum weight that can be put onto the tray is 15Kg.
Do not operate or place any part of this appliance on or near any hot surfaces (such as a gas
or an electric burner or in a heated oven.
Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter or let it touch hot surfaces.
Never pull on the cord, as this may damage it and eventually cause a risk of electric shock.
If the supply cord of this appliance is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its
service agent or similarly qualified persons to avoid a hazard.
Avoid touching the tray surface. Pick it up by the cool touch areas only.
Extreme caution must be used if moving the tray when it is hot.
To protect against electrical hazards, do not immerse this appliance in any liquid.
The tray should not be left connected to a wall socket when not in use.
Do not use the hot tray for any other purpose other than the warming food.
This product has not been designed for any uses other than those specified in this manual.
Ensure that the tray is always operated on a level surface.
Never place the hot tray on a hot surface or metal tray.
Keep children away and ensure that users are fully aware of the danger of the heated
surface.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been
given supervision or instruction concerning the use of this appliance by a person responsible
for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
WARNING: Keep the appliance dry!
OPERATING INSTRUCTION
Food is maintained at a heat just below cooking point to prevent it from overcooking and
drying out.
For best heating results, use shallow flat bottomed dishes with lids.
Meat should be slightly under done if it is to be kept on the hot tray for a long period.
Cover food with foil or a lid to prevent it from drying out.
Remove the protective plastic film from the glass surface before using for the first time.
Plug the unit into the power socket and switch it on.
Select the temperature by pressing the controller 1 to 4 times
1 is the lowest heat and 4 is the highest heat setting.
Only carry the tray by the cool touch areas marked by the Red lines.
Pots and bowls must fit on the tray, they must not protrude over the side of the unit.
Do not put knives, forks, spoons or any metal items onto the surface of the tray.
CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
Always disconnect the plug from the mains before cleaning the hot tray
The tray must be completely cool before it is cleaned.
Wipe the tray with a moist cloth and dishwashing liquid.
For stubborn stains, use any oven cleaner.
Do not immerse any part of this appliance in water or any other liquid.
Never use an abrasive scouring agent, scourer or steel wool to clean the appliance.
Do not attempt to dismantle any part of this appliance. There are no user
serviceable parts inside the appliance.

WARRANTY:
Swan Appliances warrants this product is of good quality, in good working order and free of
any defects in material and workmanship and will be useable and durable for a period of 2
(two) years from the date of purchase and complies with any applicable standards set under
the Standards Act 1993 (Act No 29 of 1993).
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE WARRANTY:
1. This warranty is only to be used by the original purchaser of the product and cannot be
ceded, assigned, transferred or handed to any other person.
2. Swan Appliances’ in its sole discretion can either repair or replace the defective appliance.
3. Should the defective appliance be situated further than 50 km from the nearest Swan
Service Centre or authorized dealer, then Swan Appliances shall be entitled to charge the
consumer a travelling charge for any distance further than 50km.
4. The appliances has been designed and manufactured for normal domestic use only and the
warranty will not be valid if it was not used for domestic purposes only.
LIMITATION OF WARRANTY:
1. Swan Appliances has no liability or responsibility in respect of any second hand goods;
2. Swan Appliances has no liability to any subsequent purchasers ;
3. Swan Appliances has no liability if the appliance is defective due to any damage, loss due
to the gross negligence of the consumer or due to the faulty installation, accidental damages,
incorrect usage, misuse or abuse or failure to follow the operational instruction by the
Consumer;
4. Swan Appliances has no liability of the appliance is damaged or destroyed as a result of any
Acts of God;
5. Swan Appliances has no liability and this warrant is not valid if the appliance is dismantled
or any repairs was done to the appliance or any other parts were inserted;
6. Swan Appliances has no liability if the serial number of the appliances has been removed;
7. Swan Appliances has no liability and will not be responsible to replace any light bulbs,
fuses, glass plates or bowls, remote controls, bags, burners or any other item which Swan
Appliance in its sole discretion determines that the life of such item depends on the amount
of use and care taken in respect of such item;
8. Swan Appliances has no liability of any nature and will also not be responsible for any
costs, should no fault have been found regarding the appliance.
