The daylily (Hemerocallis) is considered a “sure bet”
perennial, as they thrive throughout most of the country.
They tolerate less then ideal conditions and will bloom
faithfully for years with virtually no attention. As the name
implies, daylily flowers open in the morning and die by
nightfall. Each flower stem typically has at least a dozen
flower buds, and the plant stays in bloom for many weeks.
They should be planted in every garden.

About This Variety: Hemerocallis Bela Lugosi is a premium daylily and probably the best purple on the market.
It is a fast grower, branches well and produces many buds. Its color is a true purple with a lime green yellowish
throat. The foliage is mostly evergreen.
Growing Instructions: Best planted in groups for dramatic effect in full sun, on moist, yet well drained soil.
Excellent ground cover, as a single specimen, or in mass plantings to create a focal point in the garden.
Care Tip: They are tough robust plants, so not much can grow wrong. They do like an abundance of water.
Exposure: full sun to partial shade
Height: grows 24-36” tall
Spacing: plant 18-24” apart, just below soil line deep
USDA Zones: hardy in USDA zones 3-9
